1. Right now Will and Cal have finally made it up into the Aboveground. They have narrowly escaped being captured by the Styx, the underground elite, many times and on their way through the eternal city, an abandoned place, Will became terribly sick. Right now they aren't sure exactly what they should-or can do, but they are trying their best to escape the Styx.

2. I like this book quite a bit. This isn't the first time reading it, but I don't think that it has lost any of its original attraction. The plot is a gripping one: An underground world populated with albino humans living there for centuries until a man and his son discover it. I was hooked on the very first page, and it's still captivating. Also, the character depth and support are very good. For example, the character depth of Will Barrows, the main character in this tale, is astounding. They give you a brief overview of his personality at the beginning, but they keep on adding intriguing layers onto it that keep the characters from ever getting boring. As for their support, they don't just bring up character details at the beginning and leave it at that. They make sure that you don't forget.

3. The theme for this story would be dedication. For most of the characters, once they've latched onto an idea or a plan, they don't let it go and stick to it. For example, Will's father, Mr. Barrows, found the underground city and is determined to explore every inch of it and beyond. He was willing to explore the dangerous Deep area, which no one has ever returned from. His passion and dedication never once relented, and he still is exploring with an astounding single-mindedness.

4. My favorite character is Bartlby the cat. I know that seems weird, but he's an Underground cat that is hairless and the size of a rottweiler, as well as extremely loyal. Unlike some pets and animals in stories, he isn't just a sideline mention here and there. He plays a good-sized part in it all. For example, he saves the boys from capture in the Eternal city with his keen senses and swift claws.

5. My least favorite character is Rebbecca, Will's sister. She was very snooty to begin with, but it turned out that she was always a Styx spy, and she betrayed Will many times. It's just given me an intense dislike for her.

6. Well, since I've read this book before, I know what's going to happen. However, if I were to guess from simply what's already occurred, I'd think that the boys will make a few narrow escapes, but will likely be captured. I think that after that happens, they would probably escape again and somehow things would turn out all right.
