1. Right now in my book, the main character Elena just found Stefan in the well. Earlier in the book, Stefan's arch rival and brother, Damon, almost killed him, then trapped him in a well. Elena is worried that Stefan will be arrested for the murder of Mr. Tanner, the history teacher, who died on Halloween night, right after Stefan was arguing with him. The entire town suspects Stefan, because there have been several 'Animal Attacks', which have actually been vampire attacks. These vampire attacks were done by Damon, Stefan's older, much more powerful brother who kills humans to survive, unlike Stefan. Also, Elena is trying to figure out who stole her diary, which has incriminating evidence against Stefan, and almost certainly proves that he is a vampire. In her diary, Elena connects Stefan to all of the attacks that have happened, even though it wasn't Stefan, but Damon. Will Elena be able to prove Stefan's innocence?
2. So far in The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening and The Struggle, I feel that it is a fantastic book. The plot is complex, and the language is difficult to understand at times, but it is still a wonderful book. There are many twists and turns int he plot, such as when Damon showed up and almost killed Stefan. This completely changed the storyline of the book, because Elena all of the sudden finds herself falling in love with Damon. Also, I enjoyed how the language is old-fashioned. Even though the plot takes place in the 1990's, Stefan was born and grew up during the Italian Renaissance, so the way that he speaks can sometimes become very old-fashioned. Also, I like how the book seems to be a horror book. This is the kind of book that leaves you shivering, and paranoid that a vampire will come out and attack you in the middle of the night, but in a good way. Also, I like how in the most frightening parts, such as the death scenes, there will be a piece of humor slipped in that relieves the tension. This could be anything from irony to puns, but it lightens up the mood. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy this book.
3. One theme that I have noticed so far in this book is the theme of true love. This theme is shown in the way that Stefan would do anything to save Elena. When Damon threatens to kill Stefan unless he leaves Elena to him, Stefan doesn't back down, but instead fights him even though he knows that he could very well die. Also, when Elena does everything that she can to get Stefan to confess what he really is, and then she confronts him. She knows that he could kill her, but she does this anyway because she loves him so much. This affects the characters choices in this book throughout.
4. My favorite character is Bonnie. She is my favorite character because she is funny, but also clueless. Bonnie seems to be one of those people who are out of it pretty much all the time. This results in some funny moments during intense scenes. Also, Bonnie is physic, which is interesting because she can see the future, and sometimes makes scary predictions, such as when she predicted that death was waiting for Elena at Wickery Bridge. Bonnie really lightens up the mood throughout the entire book. Also, Bonnie provides an element of surprise to the book, which makes it better.
5. My least favorite character is Damon for many reasons. One reason is that Damon merciless, even to his own brother. He wouldn't hesitate to kill his own brother, and in fact, he has already. Also, Damon is selfish. Damon only thinks of himself, as he has for the centuries that he has been alive. This is shown when Stefan and Damon are both vying for the hand of Kathrine, their love from the Renaissance. Stefan was knew Kathrine first, but when Damon came, he went after Kathrine even though he knew that it would destroy Stefan. Also, Damon killed Stefan after he found out that Kathrine had committed suicide. He blamed Stefan, even thought Damon knew that it was as much his fault.
6. I predict that Damon has Elena's dairy, and he will tell the whole town that Stefan is a vampire at the upcoming founder's day celebration. I also predict that Elena will be killed by Damon at the Wickery Bridge, and will become a vampire.
