p. 512 (finished)
1. In my book, Firestar has just returned from helping to rebuild Sky clan and has gone back to his own clan, Thunder clan. Back in Sky clan, he helped to rebuild the clan after it had been scattered for many years, so he started to recruit Sky clan descendants from kittypets and rogues. They had been attacked by swarms of rats, and Firestar manages to finally kill the leader of them all so now that they don't know what to do, they all run in panic so Firestar saved them all. However while he was still with the clan, he was told a prophecy that three kin of his kin would be the most powerful cats ever. Now looking at his daughters, he starts to understand what the prophecy means.
2. I really liked the book and read it very quickly. It had a completely original plot because there's never been another adventure like this one where someone has to go and rebuild a clan and leave his own. However there was one very bad part in the book when Firestar goes around asking cats to join Sky clan. He tells the same thing to everyone and it got extremely redundant and boring. Besides that I had trouble putting the book down.
3. A theme that I have been noticing all over the book is to do what is in your heart. Whenever Firestar is asking someone to join, he makes sure that it something they really want to do because if they ever regretted joining the clan, then they might not do as much as they could do and then they wouldn't have a strong clan. Also, after the rat fight when someone wants to leave the clan, they let him because they know that if he stayed then he wouldn't be happy and they wouldn't be a strong clan.
4. My favorite character is Leafstar. She is the new leader of Sky clan and is wise and strong. All throughout the book she shows signs of great wisdom and cares about her clan. She thinks before she acts would never have her clan do something stupid. Therefore, as the reader you're not sitting there pulling out your hair as the characters march off into something stupid. She is also very spirited and just a fun character to read about.
5. My least favorite character is Sharpclaw, another Sky clan cat. He is very powerful and ambitious and really wanted to become clan leader. However, as leader he is to willing to jump into battle and would most likely lead his clan to destruction. Therefore Firestar chose Leafstar to be clan leader, but now Sharpclaw is so angry at Leafstar that he may kill her just to become leader. He is just to violent to read about.
6. The book did turn out to be how I thought it would for the most part. I saw that Sharpclaw would be too ambitious to be leader and I saw a cat leaving the clan. The author made such a big deal about being able to leave the clan that I could tell that some cat would. I also thought that Leafstar would become leader because she keeps dropping hints of knowing what to do. However, I did not see that the trip back would be so quick. One page your reading about Sky clan and the next page, it is a few months later. In total, this book was very predictable.
