1. Firepaw has begun his trek on bringing Shadowpaw to live with Barley. This is a result from the life-threatening situation Shadowpaw has found himself in. Shadowpaw saw TigerClaw kill Redtail (Deputy to the Leader of the cats) in a battle against another Clan. He then proceeded to blame the death on another cat on the other Clan. Shadowpaw however knows the truth and TigerClaw knows the Shadowpaw saw what really happened. TigerClaw is a respected cat and goes onto make all cats believe that Shadowpaw is a liar. TigerClaw has tried to set up "accidents" to kill Shadowpaw.
2. The book is very good. I like the ongoing action. It is very intense and mysterious at any given moment. Although it had a slow start, it picked itself up and has turned out to be outstanding.
3. A theme I see is trust. Trust can be a weapon used for good or evil. In this book TigerClaw uses it for his evil purposes and eliminates any belief that he is an evil traitor. Shadowpaw is deprived of all trust and the clan is suddenly against him.
4. My favorite Character is Firepaw. He is a strong character that sets goals and doesn't let the fact that he is different from the others slow him down. He is always striving to be better and never stops doing something until he has mastered it. He tries to help everyone out and always tries to get to the bottom of things.
5. My least favorite character is TigerClaw. He is a bloodthristy power-hungry villain that does not care about any one other than himself. He will kill a life for no reason whatsoever. He has scared poor Shadowpaw half to death and is plotting to kill BlueStar (Clan leader).
6. I have already read this book before and thus cannot make a prediction.
