1. Right now in the book the main character Brian Robeson has just survived a two-man-plane crash. The pilot of Brian's plane was flying Brian across the Canadian wilderness when he suffered a heart attack. Brian's pilot and the only other person on the plane died in mid-flight. Brian was stranded in a plane that he couldn't fly with a radio that doesn't work. The plane plummeted to the ground and landed on a lake. The last thing I read told me that Brian had survived but that's all I know.

2. So far I am liking this book. It is much shorter and easier to read than most of the books I read, the pages are about the same size as the ones in To Kill a Mockingbird except there is less text on each page. So far there has been a lot of suspense in this book like the crashing scene, however there is also a lot of sadness in this book. Brian is going to see his father for the first time since his parents divorced, which is sad. Also the poor pilot flying Brian's plane all of a sudden dies unexpectedly. Overall this book is good but not very uplifting.

3. A theme I have noticed so far is loneliness. I did not just pick this theme because Brian is currently stranded in the wilderness. I picked this theme also because before Brian was stranded he was still very lonely. He really had no one to talk to because his parents just got divorced and nobody is paying any attention to him. Brian has no one but himself to confide in which is why I picked the theme loneliness.

4. So far my favorite character is Brian. This is mostly because so far he is the only living character with an active role in the book. He is the only person who you get to know. Every single other character has just been quickly introduced and then taken away. Brian just seems like a normal kid who has very very bad luck.

5. So far my least favorite character is Brian's mother. The author introduces her in the beginning of the book. She was driving Brian to the plane. His mother seems kind of awkward and hard to get along with. Overall she is just very odd.

6. I predict that Brian will do his best to survive in the wilderness. The author has not done much foreshadowing up to this point so it is hard to tell what will happen next. With Brian's horrible luck he might not ever get rescued. But it is also possible that his luck will change and someone will find him soon.
