1. what is going on in your book right now?



Right now Etienne and Monsieur Tabard are coming to Isabelle's house to see Papa Georges who is very sick. But they aren't coming to visit him because he is sick; they are visiting because Papa Georges use to be a film maker. And all these years they thought he was dead. Monsieur Tabard is particularly eager to visit Papa Georges because When Mosrieur was a young boy he had an encounter with Georges on his movie set. And he felt it changed his life forever.



2. How do you feel about the book in detail. please do not say that you liked it or don't like it- you need to add detail to your comments to support your point.



I really like this book. its literally my favorite book of all time. I like the pictures that take the place of the words, and how the pictures are in black and white which kind of depicts the time period which is the early 1900s. I also like how the book is split up into 3 sections.



3. What is the theme in the book that you have noticed so far? where do you notice this theme? be specific...



The theme that sticks out the most is Determination. I see it in Hugo when he tries to fix the automaton and succeeds. His determination really helped him threw out the book starting with his dads death and him fixing the automaton. To me determination is something that is key in life. It helps you threw homework, chores, and even at work; but in Hugo's possession that is a little bit different.

4. who is your favorite character? What makes them your favorite? Again, please use detail.

My favorite character is Hugo. He is my favorite for many reasons. The main reason is he reminds me of my self. He reminds me of my self in the sense that he is very mischievous just like me but i don't steal things like he does. The second reason i like him is because he is really brave and has been threw allot.

5. Who is your least favorite character? what makes them your least favorite?

My least favorite character would have to be Isabelle. i don't like her because she isn't very nice/ understanding towards Hugo's position that he is in which is both his parents are dead, he has no one, and he has to work in the clock towers to keep his uncles manager from coming to were Hugo lives and putting him in a orphanage.

6. A prediction about what will happen next.

I think that Hugo and Isabelle will go on an adventure but when they are on the adventure they will get chased by the man that is the manager of Hugo's uncles clock working.
