John Grisham

Action Fiction

1. Mark and his brother Ricky were sharing a forbidden cigarette in the woods when they meet a suicidal lawyer who tells them the location of the most sought after body in America, the body of the only U.S senator to be killed in office, Boyd Boyette. He reveals to them that his client Barry the Blade Muldanno has killed Senator Boyette and hid the body under the lawyers boat. After telling Mark all of this, the lawyer proceeds to shoot himself.

2. I actually like this book a lot already because it jumped right in to the story and it didn't lack any details about the plot. The book is very intense right from the start.

3. A theme in the book I notice is Learning to Grow Up. Mark grows up a little two quickly and it is revealed he started smoking at age nine. He also deals with the scary situation of the lawyer killing himself in front of him and beating him up before that very much like an adult. Despite Mark's maturity, he appears to be very inept at raising his brother and taking care of his mother because his father is gone.

4. My favorite character is Mark Sway because he is very calm about everything and is rational unlike his brother Ricky. He is very mature and a little bit funny too.

5. My least favorite character is Romey the lawyer because he exposed the kids to something very intense and inapropriate for children,  which is the death of an actual human in front of them. He also created a lot of problems for them by telling them the whereabouts of the body.

6. I think that Mark and Ricky will meet another lawyer  and be questioned by the police because of the fact that Romey will be found dead soon enough. Also they could be very shocked by this.
