Anthony Horowitz
Adventure
Just Right
p. 39
1. I don't have much to say about my book so far because I am only a very short ways through it. Right now Alex is recovering from a gun-shot wound that hit him right above the heart. He was shot by a sniper that works for Scorpia who is a large criminal organization. The sniper would have killed Alex if Alex hadn't stepped off of the curb right before the bullet hit him. He is now staying at a hospital that is specifically for the rich and famous. Alex is there because he is working for MI6 and they wanted him to be safe. While he is staying at the hotel Alex meets Paul Drevin who is the son of a Russian billionaire named Nikolai Drevin whose currently revolutionizing a hotel in space known as "Ark Angel".
2. As I have already read this book before I already know that I really enjoy it. Ark Angel has followed the same path of every other Alex Rider novel. The whole thing is filled with adventure and is about Alex fighting crime all around the world. this is one of the reasons that I love this and all of the others in the Ale Rider Series.
3. There really isn't much of a theme right now because of the short amount that I have read. Although, because I already have read it I will say the theme that I believe takes place throughout a large amount in this story. It is most likely deceit. Of coarse this is my own opinion. This is shown when Nikolai deceives Alex while Alex is living with him. Alex ends up staying with them because he saves Paul's life while he is staying at the hospital.
4. My favorite character is Alex Rider, of course. Getting shot is probably the hardest thing that he has had to pull through so far. He can get shot, go through a several hour long surgery, and is still able to deal with the many other things he will go through in this book. Sorry to be so broad but I don't want to be to specific and give something away.
5. My least favorite character is Nikolai Drevin. You know when you meet someone and they seem a little bit to good to be true. That is what Nikolai's first impression on me was. While Alex was in the hospital a group of men ran in, shot the receptionist and attempted to capture Paul Drevin. If it weren't for Alex Paul would have been captured by the mysterious men. Nikolai was so grateful that he let Alex come stay at his mansion which was out in the middle of nowhere. A little strange, I know.
6. The end of this book actually turns out exactly as I expected it to. Alex gets out alive and the bad guy is defeated. I already knew this would happen because I knew about Snakehead which is the next book and there can't be a next book without Alex Rider.
