1. Right now in this book, it is about a girl named Kate Malone who is part of a family consisting of a dad and a brother. She is a strange girl that has two parts of herself. One part is called the good-Kate and the other side is the bad-Kate. Kate says that the bad part of her doesn't do anything for the family, and only cares about herself. The good side of Kate is taking care of her family, and doing everything she can to help. Kate Malone graduated high school, and applied for college. She is a science geek as people would call her. She only applied for one college which is MIT and she is stressing over it. She manages her life by organizing it as logically as the periodic table. Every night around midnight, Kate goes running around her neighborhood. She likes to run in the middle of the night, because she feels that she likes it when nobody is looking at her. With everything in mind, Kate also runs in the middle of the night, because of Insomnia. Kate stays up all night because she isn't able to go to sleep.
2. So far into the book, I am enjoying it. This is a type of book that I wouldn't normally read, but changing every once in a while is good. This is a mysterious book that has a lot of things in it. The main character is a strange character. I like how every time you start a new chapter, the title is something about the periodic table. I have a feeling that this book is going to involve a lot of science in it, and I think that it is going to be interesting. Also, I am curious to find out if Kate Malone is going to get into the only college she applied to, or if she is going to not go to college for a whole year.
3. So far in the book, I noticed that friendship is one of the themes. This is involved in the good side of Kate. Friendship is used between Kate and her brother. They don't always get along. She thinks of him as a fourteen year old whose hobbies are trombone, soccer and he doesn't know how to find the laundry room. When Kate is in a good mood, she does the laundry for her father and her brother. That is also what a friend does. Second, Kate is also friends with her dad. She sometimes doesn't like to spend time with him, but when she is in a good mood, she also like to do the laundry for him. They are friends, because in a friendship, you might not always get along, but you always know that you love the other person.
4. My favorite character is Kate Malone, also known as the main character. She is my favorite character, because even though she also has a bad side of her, she does a lot of nice things towards her family. She does the laundry for them, because she knows that they won't do it themselves. Also, I know that Kate is smart. She always uses her knowledge of science as much as she can in her real life. She might get lonely, because she has no mom. Lastly, she is my favorite character because she is always in a healthy mood. Even though she goes running at night, she still exercises, and she stays in shape. Those are why Kate Malone is my favorite character.
5. My least favorite character is Kate's brother. He is my least favorite character, because he doesn't take care of himself like he should. Kate always refers to him as smelly. Also, she says that he never washes his clothes, or do the laundry. This makes him my least favorite character, because people don't like to spend time with someone that stinks all the time, and even though I don't know him very well, I am guessing that he doesn't have a lot of friends. Lastly, when someone is smart, you usually refer to them as smart. When Kate Malone was introducing him to the reader, she doesn't describe him as smart. That makes him my least favorite character, because he doesn't use his knowledge with things that you are supposed to, so it probably makes him not fun to be around.
6. Next in the book, I think that Kate Malone will get her letter from MIT. She will either get rejected or she will be accepted. I think that if she gets rejected, she will be very mad, and she won't be the same as she was before. I am not really sure if she is going to get rejected or not, but I have a feeling that the choice she gets will change her life. Also, I think that Kate Malone will describe herself more, because we haven't really gotten to meet her yet. Those are the things that I think is going to happen in the book next.
