1.Right now in the book the narrator is discussing the British and Belgian army flaws that caused the Massacre at Wormhout.

2.this book is very detailed since it is discussing one of the greatest acts of heroism in WWII , the
evacuation of the British Army from Dunkirk.

3.the theme I have noticed is Bravery since it has survivors points of views and how were someone would be scared straight they held on and fought to the last man with the odds against them.

4. My Favorite character would probably be Captain James Lynn-Allen since during the massacre at Wormhout he helped other British prisoners escape and sacrificed his life for the sake of his men.

5. My least favorite character was Captain Fritz Knochlein since he ordered his men to fire on his own British troops causing a massacre and adding to the many War Crimes.

6. my guess is the B.E.F. will evacuate after defending the Belgian capital and have to fight the Luftwaffe.

1) Right now in my book the main character Wilson Lewis is narrating about his past, and his children. He explains the different personalities of all four of them. He talks very fondly of his wife Jane. He explains there love in great detail. Wilson states that Jane has never been the same after he forgot there anniversary. He is attempting to win Jane back, and have her fall in love with him, just as much as he is in love with her. He says, "have you ever wondered what its like to love someone who doesn't love you back."

2) Although i am not very far into the book just yet, I am very fond of it. I think it is going to tell a great tale of love. I really like how nicholas sparks writes, and I'm sure this will be another great novel of his. I'm looking forward to reading more of this book this week.

3) I think a very big them in the Wedding is renewing love. Over time Wilson is sure to renew his and Jane's as it used to be 29 years ago, when they were first married. Although he is very in love with Jane, i think he feels that when he accidentally forgot they're anniversary, it hurt Jane in ways that are very hard to repair.

4) My favorite character so far in the book is Wilson Lewis. I really like the way he expresses his love for his wife, Jane. I think it is very obvious how in love he is with her. Sometimes i just wish that he wouldn't be so afraid to prove that to her.

5) My least favorite character is Jane. I think that she had every right to be upset that he forgot they're anniversary, but i think she should forgive and forget. I feel like she doesn't make an effort because of one little mistake that Wilson made, and she should forgive him, because if she really loved him, she would be willing to put that behind her.

6) I think later on in the book Jane will start to over come her anger for Wilson, and eventually love him like she used too. I also think Wilson will open up his love to her, and they will be more honest with each other, and they're relationship will constantly change.

1. Right now I am in a very suspenseful part of the book. Rin had been traveling to Kel to see who was causing surprise burnings in Bayern. She went with Enna, Isi, and Dasha or the " fire sisters" as she calls them. Each girl has a language, Dasha has water - speaking and fire speaking, Enna and Isi have wind and fire speaking. When the girls arrive in Kel the enemy Selia is there and threatens to kill Rin's Brother Razo, and Isi's two year old son Tusken. The boys were placed in a cage above a roaring bonfire. Selia hadn't noticed Rin because she had hid behind a boulder. Rin went up to the cage and quickly freed Razo and Tusken before anyone noticed. They then hid in a tree where thankfully the confused and angry soldiers didn't find them. Now Rin and Razo are debating about how they are going to save the " fire sisters" and get Tusken to safety.
2. So far this book is a page turner and very interesting. But there is one thing that really bothers me in this book. The main character Rin, who is also the narrator, hates herself and talks about it a ton throughout the book. She loathes the way she feels about herself and what she did in her past and she can never let go of her feelings. I understand that she made some mistakes and is mad at herself, but she obsesses over it in the book and it gets repetitive and boring. Other than that I like the plot of the story and the characters, just like I do in all the other Books of Bayern.
3. A theme I have so far in the book is jealousy . Rin is a very nice girl on the outside, but on the inside she hates herself and always wishes to be someone else. She is jealous of her brother Razo who traveled and fought, had done and seen things, and how he always came and brought the family money. She's jealous of Isi and how she is so calm, smart, and organized. She is jealous of Dasha who is so happy and bouncy and kind. Rin is a wonderful girl who is the family treasure, the reason her Ma can smile everyday and the reasons why her brothers don't hurt each other. Everyone in her large family loves her but Rin can't love herself. She is always jealous of someone else's qualities and wants with all her heart to be a different person.
4. My favorite character is Razo. Razo is so funny, energetic, and positive. He has confidence when going into sticky situations and he always looks on the bright side of life. When Razo's friends talk to him they can't help but smile. I like how Razo is the one person Rin can open up to and he's always there for her or any other person that needs him.
5. My least favorite character is Selia. She is a soulless, treacherous, girl that seems unkillable. She tried to kill Isi once and take the crown away from her and become queen of Bayern. But she failed and was supposed to be executed. But Selia had gotten her way out of being killed and sneaked off to Kel. She has the amazing language of people - speaking which really comes in handy for her. She can persuade and tell people almost anything to do and it she usually uses her power for evil purposes. She is trying to kill Isi and her son to get revenge which is just an awful thing.
6. I predict that Rin is going to try and save the " fire sisters" from evil Selia. She will sneak around and try to tell the girls that Razo and Tusken are safe. But I predict some suspenseful action will occur because in scenes like these that usually happens.

1. Right now in my book Taylor was substituting for man to drive the Handi-van around town. She meets a man riding on the bus that works at the air traffic control tower and he invites Taylor and Turtle to visit the control tower and take them out to eat. Taylor says immediately, thinking of the delicious that’s in store. Later she calls Jax, her boyfriend, and tells him how much she misses him and how awful poverty is. Jax tells her to come home because he doesn’t think that Annawake will come looking for her. Taylor wants to go home but she doesn’t have the money and doesn’t want to take anyone else’s.

2.I really like this book so far, but not as much as the prequel to the book. I really like the way Barbara Kingsolver writes and the sarcasm that she includes in her dialogue makes the characters more relatable. I also like how all of the characters in the book appear to be obedient people but once you find out about their lives you know that they aren’t that docile. The only thing that I don’t like very much is that she switches back and forth between many different people narrating the story, which makes it confusing.

3.One theme I have noticed so far is culture clash. Annawake believes that Turtle won’t be able to thrive outside of the Cherokee Nation because of their strong family values. Also she thinks that Taylor should give up Turtle so she can live a better life. On the other side Taylor thinks that Turtle will fine growing up with her as her mother, and that she will learn enough about her heritage from her. These two different views have caused a major conflict in the book so far.

4. My favorite character in the book is Turtle. I like Turtle because you can’t really ever tell what’s going on in her head, which makes me wish that she narrated the story. I also like how she acts very grown up and can keep Taylor calm, even though she’s only six.

5. My least favorite character is Barbie. I really despise Barbie because she counterfeited money and robbed a restaurant but thinks she’s a good person. Also she left Taylor and Turtle on their own while they were depending on her to keep them from poverty. Also she took their money and some of their pictures when she left.

6. I think that Taylor is going to go to the Cherokee Nation to finally confront Annawake. When she goes to the nation she finds Turtles real parents and they end up all living together in the Cherokee Nation.

1. Right now, Katniss is in the final stretch of the Hunger Games. The only contestants are her, Peeta, and Cato, the boy from district 1 trained to win the Hunger Games. There was a new rule change that allowed both the tributes from a district to win. With this, Katniss goes off in search of Peeta, the other tribute from her district, 12. Peeta has been maimed by Cato and is about to die when she finds him.

2. I feel that this is one of the best books I've read in a long time. I say this because it goes at a good pace and has interesting vocabulary. I don't like that it turns into a love story, because I would like more action.

3. A theme I've noticed in this book is survival. I think so because the whole point of the games is to survive. Katniss is always trying to stay one step ahead of the competition to stay alive.

4. My favorite character is Katniss because I like her bravery and survival abilities. She was able to escape a giant forest fire, angry wasps, werewolves and other ghastly conflicts.

5. My least favorite character is Effie Trinket, the representitive from the capitol for district 12. She is very nonchalant and always wears an incredibly bubbly and happy facade. I find she is a little on the more unintelligent side too.

6. I think that Katniss and Peeta will reunite and kill Cato, but then the rules may change and they will have to kill eachother.

1. Right now, the main characters, Robert Langdon, a symbology professor at Harvard University, and Vittoria Vetra, a physicist at CERN, are in an underground lab at CERN, which is a scientific research center in Geneva, Switzerland. Vittoria, coming back from studying something else, has found her father dead in his apartment, branded with a symbol of an anti-catholocism group that hasn't been heard of for hundreds of years, and one of his eyeballs out. She shows Langdon the particle accelerator in CERN, and shows how the Big Bang Theory can be proved, and that there are two kinds of matter- anti-matter and matter. She has kept anti-matter and thinks that it could be the next fuel source, but the problem is it's incredibly explosive, because it explodes when it touches matter. She goes to find a larger supply in a further underground lab, and finds it has been stolen. The battery that protects the specimen from detonation has 24 hours left on it, and they now have to get it back, or it could explode everything within a five-mile radius of itself.

2. I like it a lot so far, I read this book once last year, but I don't remember everything about it, so it's a semi-new experience. The beginning is a little bit slow, but it's really interesting too. They use a lot of high-level science vocabulary, so some of it is a little hard to understand, and they talk about physics most of the time they're at CERN. Dan Brown does a good job with providing a lot of detail, but not an overwhelming amount. He describes all the characters very well, I think, and lets you picture them in your head easily. There's a lot of religion in the book so far and how religion and science interact with each other, so it's a little strange. I like it a lot so far, and I think it'll get faster and even better than it already is. I can tell that it will be suspenseful already. Some of the brands they use in the book are ambigrams, meaning they read the same upside-down as right-side up, and they actually work that way, so you can flip the book over and it looks the same. I like that aspect a lot. I'm very impressed with his writing and the subject matter, so, I like the book a lot right now.

3. A large theme I've noticed so far is how religion and science have been accepted to be very different and dislike each other, but the possibility that they can coexist and that they explain each other. I think it's interesting, and some of the science aspect of it we have been learning a little about in Science this year, so it's neat. They've given a background about what each of the sides thinks about how the world was created, and they both make sense, according to the research Vittoria and her father have done. Her father was a Catholic priest as well as a particle physicist, and the way he talked about things, as she reminisces, is very interesting. It's a curious subject, but they do go in depth somewhat in the book, but it doesn't completely overwhelm the underlying plot.

4. My favorite character is Robert Langdon. He's very intelligent, and how he thinks (it shows in the book) is also interesting. Each of the characters brings a large amount of knowlege together, and I think Robert's will end up helping their cause the most. He seems to be a normal person, but also smart; he was flown from Boston to Switzerland in an hour, and he was perplexed. I don't know who wouldn't be, but the way he thinks, Brown writes about him like he's both average and very special at the same time. I think it's really hard to write that way, but he accomplishes it well. He's my favorite character also because his personality is welcoming, and they mention that in the book. He's somewhat social, which you might not expect from a Harvard professor, but he is. I like this character a lot and I hope to see it develop more.

5. My least favorite character is Maximillian Kohler, the director of CERN. I don't like him because he really isn't very friendly, and doesn't take the other characters thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. into account. They describe him being cold, and that employees don't like him at all, and that he's a hard man to please. He's not welcoming at all, and I really don't like that. He's very intelligent in his field, but he's pretty one-dimensional that way. He seems to want everything for himself, and he seems to neglect others when he tries to think, so it's very weird. I don't like his personality and the way he holds himself is very demanding which I don't like either.

6. A prediction I have for the book is that the anti-Catholocism cult is the one behind the stealing, because they were the ones that branded Vittoria's father, and that they will put the anti-matter in the Vatican, because that's where the head of Catholocism is, so they would want to blow up the Vatican, and all the history and documents that go along with it.

Pg. 118

1. Right now in my book, Jason Bourne has just been caught by the police in Zurich, Switzerland. He was trying to escape Zurich and the police because they were after him for a murder. These police are no ordinary police officers though. They are part of a special branch of the Zurich police. They are more like proffesional spies than cops. They have been hunting Bourne all night for a suspected murder and they finally trapped him.

2. So far I think the book is great. It is a challenge and can be confusing at times but it seems like my kind of book. There is always action going on such as chases and gunfights. It is very suspenseful and never is boring.

3. The theme in the book so far has alot to do with memory. Jason Bourne, at the beginning of the book, wakes up and does not know who he is, where he is from or any kind of detail from his past at all. He finds a bank account number that belongs to him that belongs to a bank in Zurich. He retraces his steps in order to jog his memory and slowly, he finds out more about himself and his past.

4. My favorite character so far is Jason Bourne for many reasons. He is obviously extremely well trained but he doesn't remember any of his past so he doesn not know how he can do all the amazing things he does. He is an expert on all types of weapons and is an extremely skilled fighter. But all this knowledge comes as a shock to him because he has no memory. He is also very good in intense situations. Even if multiple people attack him and he is unarmed, he still finds a way to win and always get out of the situation.

5. My least favorite character is the policeman hunting Bourne. Jason Bourne is just trying to recover his identity and the policeman is always after him. No matter what Bourne does, he cannot escape. Jason isn't even the bad guy but even he himself doesn't know that yet.

6. I think that next in this book, Jason will find a way to escape from the policemen and buy some more time to be able to continue retracing his steps and uncover his past. But the police won't just give up. They'll catch up to him again soon.

1. Nickie Green and her aunt Crystal have moved into her deceased grandfather's house in Yonwood, North Carolina for a few weeks. The house was left to Nickie's mother and aunt, and they've decided to clean it up and sell it. Nickie, however, wants to keep the ancient and beautiful house and move into it with her mom and dad. A Crisis is going on right now- the US and Phalanx Nations can't come to an agreement about something, and the US is setting a deadline of 7 days for the Phalanx Nations to agree to their compromise, and if not they will declare war. Nickie's father is away for important government business, but can't tell his family where he his, so they're worried about him. Yonwood's prophet has had a horrible vision with fire and destruction about the Crisis, and people think it was a message from God.

2. I am enjoying this book so far because it is very suspenseful and has a good plot. People in Yonwood and throughout the US are very frightened about the Crisis between the US and the Phalanx Nations, and things are only getting worse. This is a good plot because it is depicting what could happen if two nations or groups both wanted something that the other wouldn't give up, and couldn't come to a compromise so they broke out in a violent war. Although this is a worst-case scenario kind of situation, it sends out a strong message about disputes and how everybody can't always have everything we want, or the result would be constant fighting, or worse. The author is good at including details and making readers want to keep reading by including suspenseful parts.

3. A theme that I've noticed is faith in God. Although not all the characters follow and support this theme, the majority do. During this time of trouble and worry the people of Yonwood need something or someone to look up to for help and reassurance. They believe that if they have faith in God and focus all their love towards him, he will makes things all better. They are giving up things they like, for example Nickie gave up hot chocolate, because they think that will give them more love to give to God. Although this might not be true, Ms. Beason, a strong believer of faith towards God, tells people to give up things they like and love God with all their heart so he will make things better.

4. My favorite character is Nickie because she has a big heart and sees the real story behind things. Crystal wanted to sell her grandfather's house because she thought it looked too ancient and shabby to live in, Nickie thought the house was beautiful in its own unique way and knew they couldn't sell it because her ancestors had lived in it for centuries, and the house was alive with all sorts of different memories and stories to tell. Nickie has a warm personality towards everything and everybody, and is not afraid to try new things. She is sick tired of their boring apartment in Philadelphia, and is determined to convince her mom and dad to keep their grandfather's house and move in.

5. My least favorite character is Ms. Beason because she is always positive that whatever she says and thinks is right, and that her way of doing things is the right way. After the prophet's vision about fire and destruction she lies in bed and keeps mumbling things that nobody can understand. Ms. Beason is really interpreting the prophet's mumbling to what she wants people to do, not what the prophet is trying to say. During the Crisis she isn't doing anything to help the situation, she is just distracting the people by telling people that God is there for us, and will save us. She is almost hypnotizing them into being mindless robots that do nothing all day but hope that things will get better. Having some hope is not a bad thing, but if ALL you are doing is hoping for the better, then that is not going to improve the situation.

6. My prediction is that the prophet will come of out her "coma" and explain what she was really trying to say. Also, the prophet's vision will come true and have something to do with the war between the US and the Phalanx Nations. The people of Yonwood will suffer from this war, maybe they will make shelters to live in where it's safe. I think Nickie will convince her parents to keep the house and make them realize its sentimental value and greatness. Her dad will come back from his top-secret government business and tell them where he was and what was so important that he was doing. Ms. Beason might be shunned by the townspeople for interpreting the prophet's mumblings completely wrong and she will move away.

1. Lord Ion the Ascendant Dragoneye has somehow connected with Eon mentally. Eon tried to gain control of Ido's dragon and the plan backfired as Lord Ido overpowered Eon. Lord Ido gained full control over Eon for a short period of time. He also learned Eon's deadly secret. That he is a girl. Interfering in the government as a woman means automatic and certain death. He has kept her secret just so she does whatever Lord Ido says. Eon, now Eona, is supposed to be fighting Lord Ido but now Lord Ido has the upper hand.
2. I am really enjoying this book. Since it is my favorite genre, fantasy, I am flying right by it. The whole Dragon plot really makes me enjoy the book. It is a little bit like the Eragon series.
3. A theme I have noticed in this book is "what's done in the dark, will come to the light.” I am not sure if this is a theme or not but it is largely represented in this book. Lord Eon's secret about being a girl has slipped to Lord Ido. Lord Ido's secret of trying to take over the empire and trying to find the string of pearls and, using the Sun drug has slipped to some dragoneye's.
4. Eon(a) is my favorite character for many reasons. The main reason is because s/he, despite the odds, tries her/his best to do the impossible. She/he takes great risks to follow her/his dreams.
5. Lord Ido is my least favorite character because he is just plain mean. He takes advantage of people and makes himself look innocent and harmless but really is a disastrous jerk.
6. I think that Lord Ido is going to tell people about Lord Eon(a)'s secret. Lord Eon(a) will then have to escape the empire to escape death.

    1. In my book right now the girls in the Jackie O. house are breaking the rules and being mean to Charlie. The girls in my books names are Renee, Sky, Allie J Abbott, Charlie, and Triple Threat. Allie J is supposedly a singer but the real Allie J isn't at the school. The Allie J Abbott at the school Alphas is really Allie A Abbott and she is committing identity theft and stealing Charlies ex boyfriend. On the first night Allie, Sky Renee and Triple Threat broke the most important rule at Alphas. No hanging out, no texting, no dating the only boys at school the Brazzille Boys the Principle/ Creator of Alpha Academy's sons. They snuck out to meet them after they texted them.
  2. This book reminds me of the clique books. Sky reminds me of Massie. Allie J reminds me of Kristen. Charlie reminds me of Claire. Triple Threat reminds me of Alicia. And Renee reminds me of Dylan. The book is very exciting. I want to live on the Alpha Island it is so amazing. This book is so interesting i feel like I am apart of the book.
  3. The theme so far in this book is being on top/ better than everyone else. I see this when Allie J finds out one of Charlies secrets and tells everyone. I also see this when Sky is trying to destroy Triple Threat (not legitimately like destroy her reputation and get her kicked out of Alpha Academy.)
  4. My favourite character is Charlie because shes the only one who doesn't act all perfect and she acts like herself. All the other girls are pretending to be someone their not because they want to be the best. But Charlie is honest with herself and she is not stuck up and does thing to impress people.
  5. My least favorite character is Allie because she is so mean and stuck up. She doesn't understand why her boyfriend from home dumped her for her best friend. She doesn't understand it because she thinks because she is prettier then her that he should like her. She makes fun of Charlie and picks on her because she didn't won't to sneak out on the first night.
  6. I think Allie is going to get caught for identity theft, get kicked out of Alpha's Academy and get arrested.

1. Right now in my book, Voldemort has taken over the Ministry of Magic. Harry Potter is Undesirable Number One. So he, Ron and Hermione were now travelling around England in a tent. Tensions were high, they were trying to find a way to destroy the horcrux that Dumbledore had found and left to Harry. When stress reached its peak, Ron got frustrated and left Harry and Hermione alone. Then Voldemort almost killed Harry when he visited Godric's Hollow, where his parents lived. They then returned to their wanderings. Then one night, Harry found a Patronus and followed it, where he found the Sword of Gryfindor in a pool of water. He then tried to get it, but when he was diving to get it the horcrux strangled him, but Ron saved him. They then destroyed the horcrux with the sword. The trio was back together and they went to their friend's father's (Xenophilius Lovegood's) house. But Xenophilius was a traitor and called the Ministry to come and capture Harry.

2. I think that this book is great. It has taken me a while and I have not completely remembered all the characters, it has been at least three years since I read the last Harry Potter book. But overall, it has been very suspenseful, almost like a murder-mystery book. I am always trying to guess who is working for Voldemort and who is working with Harry. It seems as if the most interesting parts of the book are guessing who is going to turn Harry in. It is fun to try to guess. I did not think that Xenophilius Lovegood would rat out Harry, but I suspected that something would have happened there. So far, no intense duels between Harry and Voldemort, but I am ready for it when it comes!

3. So far, the theme I have noticed in the book is desperation. First of all the trio is trying to hide from the Ministry. They have all the Death Eaters looking for them. They always need to travel under the invisibility cloak, for fear of being seen. There is also this daunting task of destroying all the horcruxes of Voldemort. They have almost no clues. It seems as if Dumbelore has left them no clues or hints whatsoever. And then Harry is the chosen one, the one who has to defeat Voldemort. There is so much stuff they need to do, it is daunting, and they only have a limited amount of time before they are found.

4. My favorite character is Harry. First of all, he seems to keep Ron and Hermione from killing each other. Also, he always tries to keep the spirits high. He also was the one who helped Ron destroy the horcrux. He is the leader of the trio obviously and no one has outshone him so far in the book, so he is the best. No one has been particularly amazing, but Harry has been the best one yet.

5. My least favorite character is Hermione. She always seems to be negative and must argue with everyone's ideas. When Ron came back after leaving, she threw a fit for about a day and probably would have attacked Ron if Harry had not intervened and put up a magical wall between them. I did not like how she overreacted to Ron. Also, she discredited Xenophilius Lovegood's idea that the Deathly Hallows are not real (the book is titled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so the Deathly Hallows must be real). I know that the characters would never know, but this is still annoying.

6. The Ministry is coming for Harry, but they are still going to escape from the Lovegood's house. After then it is a little unclear, but I think that they will either find another horcrux or get close to one. My other thought is that they might get caught by the Ministry and jailed until Voldemort could deal with them.

1. Right now in my book the main character, Elle, is at a park. She went there to go on a run and clear hear mind. A boy she is friends with, Will, is in the ravine that is near the running path. She goes down to the ravine and they talk for a little. When she says she has to go, and he offer her a ride back so her dad doesn't have to come and get her. On there way back from the ravine they talk about Elle's parents and then they talk about how Will doesn't want to join the military but his dad wants him too.

2. This book is the type of book I wanted to read right now. It is more of a girl book and has a little bit of mystery in it. I haven't read to many mysteries but I like how the mystery is a "how is that possible" sort of mystery so it has an element of fantasy in it right now. It is really interesting how Elle and Will have this weird connection but have only just started to get to know each other. It is like they have meet before. I like how it is almost always interesting and is a pretty easy read.

3. I think the theme of this book is finding friendship in weird places. Elle didn't expect to find many friends when starting her first year at Alavon High. Her parents are on their sabbaticals, they are professors, and they have moved to Maryland from Minnesota to spend there sabbaticals there. But, at her school she finds this boy who she seems to know, but has never meet before. The boy she meets is the type who seems like they have everything perfect and in control. But,it feels like he is hiding something. He dosn't seem like the type she would have expected herself to ever be able to become friends with.

4. My favorite character is Will. He is always turning up in weird places, like the ravine, and seems to be good at everything. Right now there is some sort of mysterious thing about him and it makes you want to read about him more so you can find out what the mystery about is. He is a really nice guy who doesn't like violence or people being mean. He helped a kid get his notebook back from a bunch of bullies and doesn't like the idea of joining the military because he doesn't like hurting people.

5. My least favorite character is Rick. He is the bully who took the notebook from the kid. He was deliberately being mean and it was uncalled for. It makes me think he will be a mean character throughout the book.

6. I think Will and Elle will find out more about the connection between them. Both of them have realized it and it seems to be a very important part in the book. On the side panel of the book it says weird events start happening and I think they will have to do with their connection. Maybe they know each other from some sort of past life.

They were previously at Nearly Headless Nick's death party and never got the chance to go to the feast so they were walking back to their corridor and noticed Mrs. Norris was hanging by her tail with those words written. Snape then started accusing the kids of petrifying Filch's cat. It couldn't be proven so they were allowed to leave without a punishment.

2. This book is so good, I like because I have seen the movie and I pretty much know what is going to happen, but it's fun to remember what happened in the movie and have a good image in you mind of what scene is happening. It's also fun to see what parts of the book were not added in the making of the movie.

3. I think the theme of this book right now is fear of the unknown. I think this because the students are so scared of what is going on and they have no idea who or what is doing it. Harry and Hermione are both extremely curious of what is going on. They have been snooping around the "crime scene" to see who could have been at that spot before they were.

4. My favorite character in this book is Harry, how can you read Harry Potter and have your favorite character not be Harry. I like him because back home he is a nerdy kid who his cousin Dudley beats him up every day. His Uncle and Aunt also treat him terribly by never giving him enough food. Then when he gets to Hogwarts he is this famous kid who everybody loves.

5. My least favorite character in the book is Draco Malfoy because he called Hermione a mudblood which is someone who has muggle parents, but the kid is a witch or wizard. This is an extreme insult in the wizarding world. Draco is a pureblood which means everyone in his family tree has been a pureblood wizard. Draco is also extremely obnoxious who thinks he's all that but he is obviously not.

6. I predict that these mysterious things are going to continue to happen. I also think that they are going to follow the spiders that they have just found walking through the hallway to an even bigger spider who will try to kill them (in a way i already know that's what is going to happen).

1. Right now in my book, it is about a "clique" that everone thinks is "the" main thing in the school, and everybody tries to be part of it. The clique consists of four girls, named Massie Block, Alicia Rivera, Kristen Gregory, and Dylan Marvil. These are the only four girls that can get into the club, and everyone tries to be part of it. No matter what anyone does, they will never convict Massie Block, the head of the club to be part of it. Massie Block gets all of the attention. They make up rules for themselves that they specify a specific day for wearing specific clothes, and if they don't wear it, then they will be kicked out of the club.

2. So far in my book, I am enjoying it. Whenever you start a new chapter, there comes a new conflict, that they try to solve. It doesn't usually end up solved in the beginning, but the characters work their way towards their destination. The book never consists of boring pages, which is why I am enjoying it

3. The theme in this book is friendship. I think that the main theme is friendship, because the whole book involves a "clique", that consists of four bestfriends. People try to be friends with them, and they work really hard to convince Massie Block to join. People usually won't be able to get into the club, but everbody tries.

4. My favorite character is one that I have not mentioned yet. Her name is Claire Lyon, and she is new to the town. She isnt very rich, or pretty just like everyone else, and Massie and her group take advantage of it. Massie always makes up pranks to do on Claire, and Claire always ends up getting embarrassed. I feel bad for Claire, and that is why she is my favorite character.

5. My least favorite character is Massie Block. She expects everything to go her way, and if it doesn't then she doesn't get happy. She is always making fun of Claire, which isn't nice, and she can get very mean. She knows that she is the center of attention, and she always rubs it into people's faces. Overall, she can become very mean in the book.

6. Next in the book, I think that there are going to be lots of ways that people try to get into the clique, and they aren't going to be successful. People are going to be very nice to Massie, and try to treat her with specialty, so they can get in the club, but instead of that happening, Massie rejects that person, and she gains even more self-confidence. At the end of the book, I think that it is eventually going to come up with a way that got Massie back, and there will probably be no more "Clique" in the book.

1. The book The Green Mile the main character is named Paul Edgecombe, he is a prison guard at Cold Mountain State Penitentiary, every now and then he has to execute convicted murderers. Right now in the book a execution has just gone horribly wrong. This is thanks to another prison guard named Percy Wetmore. Paul put Percy in charge of the execution and Percy neglected to look everything over before the prisoner Edwaurd Delacroix was strapped to the electric chair. Percy didn't connect all the wires together and because of that instead of Delacroix being electrocuted he burst into flames as soon as the electricity was turned on.

2. So far i feel really good about this book, it is pretty sad sometimes but it is really well written. I like all the detail that the author uses to describe events like the execution, even though it was pretty gruesome i felt like I was actually there. I also like the way the author puts you in the main character, Paul's, shoes. You really understand all the decisions he makes, and how bad he really does feel for the criminals. It is a very good book.

3. The main theme that I have noticed so far in the book is toughness. The criminals, mostly convicted killers, have to wait for months in a prison cell under horrible living conditions to await their deaths. All these criminals probably deserve this considering they have taken away lives of other humans, however they still have to be very tough in order to live that way, just waiting to die.

4. My favorite character is Mr. Jingles. Mr. Jingles is a mouse who the guards found one night in the prison. Edwaurd Delacroix who was recently executed had a strong friendship with Mr. Jingles, he even taught the mouse how to do tricks. Mr. Jingles seemed to make everyone happy, except Percy who never seemed to be happy unless he was torturing one of the criminals, at the prison.

5. My least favorite character is Percy. Percy is a jerk, he is always hurting the prisoners in some way. He seems to like doing it too, the other guards are even skeptical about whether Delacroix being burnt was an accident. The thing with Percy is that he is related to the Governor and always gets what he wants, because if he doesn't then he will just tell the Governor and the person Percy is mad at will be in trouble.

6. Next I think Paul and the other prison guards will try to find proof that Percy fried Edwaurd Delacroix on purpose, then Percy will have to be fired. Percy has been awful to everyone at the prison since the beginning of the book, I feel like it is time for him to go. He is mean and not even any good at his job. All in all I predict, and hope that Percy Wetmore is on his way out.

1. Right now in the book, Peeta and Katniss think they have just won the games. But, on the loud speaker the rules get changed and they say there can only be one winner. Peeta and Katniss have a simple plan to fool the capitol. They both take a handful of poison berries when the voice comes on and says there can be two winners. Everyone seems like nothing has happened until uprisings start in the districts. They took the gesture as a rebellion, not as a sign of love.

2. I really like this book so far. It is a great adventure that shows you what it is like to actually live life on a dangerous side. This book is full of suspence which is why I like it so much. There are also a great numhber of twists that stur up action. And it isn't just slow and than fast. The action is everywhere which makes me not want to put the book down.

3. One theme i have notices so far is love. Peeta and Katniss, even though they do not know it yet, i belive is love. They faked it so they could both win the games, but i think they both knew what was really happening. If that voice did not come on they would have killed themselves for eachother. Neither of them could think of harming the other to win ther games.

4. My favorite character is Rue. She was not a very important character but she still made the book great. SHe is a competitor from another district, but still teams up with Katniss. On more than one occasion, she saved Katniss's life. And although she died trying to protect her, she got a propper burial because Katniss wanted her to be remembered. She was also not the most skilled or biggest, but she survived for so long because she outsmarted other people.

5. My least favorite character is Thresh. He is supposed to be allies with Rue because they are form the same district. But instead, he runs of by himself trying to kill everyone in his path. For this reason i do not respect him and am glad that he was taken out by a team who worked together. He wasn't a bad person, he just thought he could do better by himself. If he had stayed with Rue on the other hand, she would have still been alive. I tihnk that wold've made a much better story.

6. I predict that frmo these uprisings, the districts will try and free themselves like they did sixty years ago. But if they lose, like they did a while back, what will be the punishment. I tihnk it will be like the hunger games, just worse. Maybe more people will go in or more people will be put into the raffle. Maybe the entire hunger games will have the rules changed to make it more painful for the contestants. I think that the capitol will find a way to make such a harsh punishment that this will never happen again. They thought that sixty years ago but it wasn't enough.

1. I have just begun reading this book and Eli, the main character, is checking out the compound that their dad had built for them. A nuclear bomb has gone off and they have gone intot he shelter. He realizes that his grandmother and twin brother were outside when they shut the door.

2. I feel that this book is good so far, especially in the way they are describing the compound. You really get a feel for what it looks like. Also, the book shows us how Eli feels about everything.

3. I think the theme is more sadness than fear at this point because of the loss of Eli's twin brother and grandmother. The loss of the natural world and being able to be outside is also hitting him hard.

4. My favorite character is Eli right now because it is explaining what he is going through and we have really only been introduced to him so far.

5. My least character right now is Eli's sister, Lexie. She does not seem to be upset over her family members who did not make it into the shelter

6. My prediction is that Eli will try to sneak out of the compound someday and be unsuccessful.

1. Right now, in the book Stolen, Isabelle and Honey just came back in from picking some flowers and berries outside. As they come inside Isabelle realized they were picking weeds that had poison in them, and if you get it on your skin and run out in the sun, the poison will soon start eating away at your skin. Both girls quickly rushed inside to wash their hands and their arms. After they washed their hands, for some reason Isabelle believed that Honey had set them up so that Isabelle had got in on her hands, because she believes that Isabelle isn't her real sister. Believing this, Isabelle has lost the majority of her respect for Honey.

2.Right now, in my book I feel frustrated and suspicious at the same time. Mostly because of the weeds Honey picked so Isabelle might be in danger. Isabelle's and Honey's uncle picked this dangerous type of weed once and didn't know about it. Once he stepped out into the sun, the sap released by this weed starting eating his skin and he eventually died because the loss of skin and blood. Knowing this, Honey still picked the weed and put it in the basket, went to wash her hands, and then let Isabelle touch it just because she thought Isabelle wasn't her real sister. It was frustrating to read this because, what if the sap started eating into Isabelle's flesh like her uncle? She couldn't do anything about it.

3. The overall theme right now is friendship. Though Isabelle isn't doing very well with Honey, she still has some friends out of home. When Honey was nice to her, she introduced her to some friends who Isabelle formed an immediate bond with, and every since, Isabelle has been hanging out with these friends outside of home.

4. Right now, my favorite character is the main character, Isabelle. She's extremely modest and when Honey was being mean to her she did a good job of ignoring it and making Honey feel guilty as her parents kept telling her to stop. She reminds me of Derek Jeter (even though he's on the Yankees) because he works really hard and is good at what he does, but he's extremely humble and has gained many peoples' respect.

5. My least favorite character by far is Honey. She is mean, disrespectful, greedy, and annoying. She's trying to find every possible reason why Isabelle isn't her real sister. And if it really was Isabelle, it would be EXTREMELY disrespectful because if she was stolen from the witch and that was Isabelle, she went through all that to get to her family and be accused that she wasn't really Isabelle. If I was Isabelle I would say something to my parents to make sure she wasn't saying those nasty things anymore.

6. My prediction on what's going to happen next is that I think Honey is going to get in some kind of trouble. I don't know what she will do, I just have this feeling that maybe Honey will slap Isabelle or pull a prank on her and get in trouble. After all, I hope she does.

1. In my book right now the four kids that have passed all of the special tests are getting ready for there first special mission. To pass all of the tests they each had the same scenario, a girl with green hair dropping a pencil down a sewer, than not being able to call there parents when they had finish the tests. Also the one rule about bring only one pencil and one eraser. Also the test is not all about smarts, but about following steps.

2. So far I like the book. It is not my favorite book though. Sometimes I think that the book is hard to follow, but the book can really get you thinking. Another thing that I like about the book is that the author, Trenton Lee Stewart write about each character, he tells about the things that each character is thinking.

3. I think the theme in this book so far is bravery. I think this because when all of the kids were taking the test some of the kids ran out of the room crying once/before they saw the test. Also I think that Reynie is being brave about just looking at the test and even for completing it.

4.My favorite character is Reynie. He is my favorite because even though all of the kids in the orphanage don't like him, he still do not take it to heart. Another reason that I like Reynie is because he always seems to figure out the tests.

5. My least favorite character is the pencil woman. She is the test administrator. She is always mean to all of the children. All that she does is eats pickles during the test. I think that she does it to distract the children. Another reason that she is my least favorite character is that she always lies. She lied to Reynie twice.

6. I think that the children are going to go on there mission, I am not to sure on what it will be. I hope that it is something exciting though.

1. So Albus Dumbledore has died and so his will states that Harry will get the sword of Godric Griffindor, but Scrimgeour thinks that the sword should go to someone else in the Griffindor house.

2. I have really enjoyed this book. I read it right after it came out but not since then, and I have really started to understand the book alot more. The book is really well written and my personal favorite book in the Harry Potter series.

3. A theme in the book that I have noticed so far is disparity, Harry is desperate to find all of the horcruxes which is why he didn't attend his 7th year at Hogwarts.

4. My favorite character in this book is probably Harry, because he has such a hard time and you can't help feeling bad. He has such a difficult and stressful life, and not to mention dangerous.

5.My least favorite character in this book is Belatrix Lestrange, because she killed Mad-Eye Moody, on of Harry's closest allies. She also killed his god father Sirius Black in the 5th book of the series.

6. So Bill and Fleur's wedding is coming up and I think that their will be an attack by the death eaters to try and kill Harry who will be attending. I don't think Harry will die, but maybe someone not as significat, like Lupin.

1. Right now my book is about another planet that humans colonized. They found a new species on it that they call "piggies" because they look like pigs. Some scientists have been observing them from a distance recently, and they were both tortured until death. No one wants to examine them closely because years ago, the humans extincted another species and thy don't want that to happen again. Right now Ender is just arriving on the planet as a speaker for the dead, which means that he speaks the truth about some one's death and he's speaking for the death of these scientists, and that's all we know about speakers right now. The book is almost like a murder mystery, however we know who killed the scientists, it's a motive that we're looking for.

2. Right now I really enjoy reading my book, because it's a mystery and I like to read mysteries every now and then because you're always looking for these small details that could give you a hint to the mystery. It is also very fast moving, sometimes with years going by in one page, and so new problems and characters always show up. However at other times, it can be very slow moving where you just can't bear it, but that doesn't happen too often so it never gets too annoying.

3. The most current theme in my book is that you can't keep secrets from anybody. I see it right now because in my book, the planet they are on, does not believe in speakers as part of their religion, so calling a speaker to come is a big deal and one boy who called in the speaker, is now mad at himself because the speaker is going right to his house, so everyone will know that it was him who called in the speaker.

4. Right now my favorite character is Ender because he is the speaker, so he's like the detective in the story right now, trying to figure out the motive behind the piggies murdering. He is also the main character and I already know about him from previous books, so I don't have to worry about keeping track of him too much, which is a big relief. Ender is also just a fun character to read about and he is very smart, which is also why I like him so much.

5. Right now my least favorite character is Ender's sister Valentine. Her role is very random and it could easily be taken out, and nothing would happen to the story at all. She also causes Ender a lot of grief, and is boring to read about. From someone like Ender, it is better to hear about her then actually read a part when she's there. That is why I am not too found of Valentine right now.

6. Next I think that the piggies are going to try and murder Ender, but this time we'll read about it through the perspective of the victim, not just hearing about how someone was murdered and not knowing anything about it. Then I think that Ender is just barely going to escape, and the piggies will be trying to hunt him down or something like that. I doesn't seem too happy, but it seems the most likely.

1. Right now Hercule Poirot is staying at a large, fancy house in Devonshire. A famous murder mystery writer has called him up because she had the feeling that something was wrong. She was organizing a murder mystery party and she felt as though a real murder was going to be committed instead of a fake one. Hercule Poirot is talking to everyone, trying to analyze their characters and figure out if one of them is acting suspiciously.

2. So far I like the book. However, I am at the very beginning, the murder that will be investigated has not even occurred yet. But I like Agatha Christie's books in general and I especially like Hercule Poirot. I also think that all of the characters are very believable and I like the pace of the book.

3. The theme that I have noticed so far is probably sticking to your gut feeling. Since it is a murder mystery book and the murder has not been committed yet it is hard to think of a theme. But, the writer calls up Hercule Poirot because she has a feeling that something is not right- a gut feeling. I know that a murder will happen so it is a good thing that she called him up when she did- it will make it much easier for him to solve the crime. That shows why the theme is to stick to your gut feeling or your instincts.

4. My favorite character is Hercule Poirot. He is my favorite because it is funny to read about his old fashioned opinions and I like his character in general. He is a genius and he knows it. You wouldn't exactly call him modest, he loves to brag and is very disappointed when people don't know who he is. He also can really tell what kind of person someone is just by talking with them for five minutes.

5. My least favorite character is probably Mrs. Hattie Stubbs. She is married to a man 20 years older than her. She is very childish and selfish. All she cares about are her jewels and that she has the fanciest clothes of all of the women at the casinos. Also, she acts as if she was 10. She never thinks twice about wasting her husband's money on gambling and she does not understand many things (things about how to act around other people).

6. I think that the person who is supposed to be pretending to be murdered will actually be murdered. Then Hercule Poirot will find out who it was- someone that I did not expect. I think that because on the first page of the book there is a little sneak peek that says that the writer was showing Poirot the 'corpse' and then he realizes that she is actually dead! Also, I have never guessed the murderer in any of Agatha Christie's books- and I have read a lot of them.

Lately they have been searching for a unidentified item which turned out to be a box stating inside it that there was a way out of ember.

2. So far about this book I like it a lot and it is just right for me to read which is nice the reason I like it is pretty quick paced and starting to get intense which is fun to read intense books.

3. The theme in the book is fear of the apocalypses the apocalypses they fear is that the lights will go out forever in their city and they all die so they are trying to get out.

4. My favorite charter is Doon because he is really nice and switches jobs with Lina so she doesn’t have to work in the pipes and I think he will help a lot with the escape of ember.

5. My least favorite character is poppy because I think that she will cause a lot of trouble and be a pain to try to get out of ember with and she might be kind of hard to watch.

6.I think they might start searching places for a way out of ember and I think Doon might go back into the generator room and get caught and get in trouble.

1. In my book right now Annie's uncle, Marco, just left. He left Annie with two boxes. She is very curious to find out what is inside the box but she is instructed not to open them under any circumstances. She is forced to separate them, so one has to stay in her room and the other has to go to the basement. There is one problem though. A company is trying to get them to move out of their home and if that happens she won't be able to hide the boxes anymore.

2. I like this book a lot because it keeps you guessing on what is inside the box. I liked how right at the beginning she introduced the boxes so you automatically got sucked in.  There is only one problem though and that is that it can get a little slow at points. I think that the action will start to pick up very soon.

3. The theme that I have seen so far in the book is self control. You see this a lot when Annie wants to look inside the box. You also see it when Annie's aunt, Ruth, is very mean and obnoxious. Annie controls herself and holds her tongue.

4.My favorite character is Uncle Marco. I like him because he is very energetic. He is sort of a mystery because he goes on long trips and comes back with weird stuff. I also like how he is very nice to Annie and how he doesn't like Aunt Ruth.

5. My least favorite character is obviously Aunt Ruth. She is very annoying. She is very mean to Annie, and if Annie does something wrong she makes Annie feel very guilty. She is very stubborn, the only thing that that is good for in the book is to not let the company buy the house and destroy it. Aunt Ruth is just an all around terrible person.

6. Next I predict that Annie won't be able to control herself and she will have to look inside the box. I think that something terrible will happen when she does, or I think that Aunt Ruth will find the boxes and she will throw them out and Annie will have to go find them.

1-Right now in the book Brunner has been angered because the draft cards in the U.S. have been burned. He is really mad and uses bad language to describe his anger for them. He also is blaming them for not having enough troops in the army. Meanwhile Johnson talks to Richie about war protestors and then they get into the topic of joining the army. Richie doesn’t know if he wants to join yet because he isn’t quite sure who the good guys are and who the bad guys are yet. Johnson tries to convince Richie to join because of all the communism in Europe but Richie doesn’t know if he should believe him because he has lost a lot of faith in people.

2- This has been a pretty good book for me. It started out very slow which I didn’t like so I took a while to get into it. I am enjoying this book because I have always had an interest to get as close to war as I can, without actually being in it. I think it’s interesting to read about battles and “behind the scenes” stuff about war like all the troops that are in it and what happens when they aren’t in battle. All that being said it is a good book and I think that the action is still rising so that will be good.

3- I have been noticing a friendship theme in this book. I say this because all of the squadron troops were very good friends with Carroll and then he died. In all of the other battles they were all helping each other out especially Carroll, but he didn’t really like them as much as he was liked. I feel it’s almost karma that he died because he didn’t really embrace friendship, and that all the characters that partake in friendship are living. Also in bad times during the war the troops pick each other up and keep them going.

4- My favorite character in the book right now is Richie. I like him because he is a very intellectually smart person and he listens to both sides of the story before he makes his decisions. Also I think that he is very clever because he doesn’t always believe everything he hears, like when Johnson was trying to get him to join the army, but he doesn’t believe everything he says because in times like these when Johnson has to recruit troops for Brunner, he will do anything he can.

5- My least favorite character has to be Brunner. I say this because he is one of those stuck up people that thinks that he is right 100% of the time. He is also very snobby when he doesn’t get what he wants. For instance he wants more troops for the war but he is not getting them. A good leader would just move on and work with what he has but all he did was complain and make the troops figure out what to do. I also find Brunner to get annoying.

6- It is hard to say where this story is going, but if I had to guess this is what I would say. Christmas is coming soon so I kind of feel like everyone will “agree” to be at peace for a week or two, but then the Americans will attack the Vietnamese. Also I feel like some violence could break out amongst the American troops because of all the racial stuff that is happening in the U.S. and that some of the racially different troops will turn on each other.

1. In my book right now the main character Annabel has just walked out of the court room where she was testifying against this high schooler named Will Cash. She was testifying against him because he had raped her years before. Also, Will Cash while in the court room had a huge bruise on his face that had a red mark under it. When she walked out of the court house she saw her "boyfriend" Owen and he explained how he punched Will Cash because of what he did to her. It was really hard for Annabel to tell her family about what had happened to her. First she told Owen who was the most honest person she had ever met before in her life. She told him almost anything that was on her mind and she thought she was a liar but she tried so hard not to be one to be good for Owen. After Annabel and Owen's fight way before the whole court room situation she told him that she was not the girl Owen thought she was that she was a liar. But, Owen proved her wrong because she had told Owen that she was a liar on the first day they met when he was giving her a ride home because her sister Whitney had taken her car. If she was a liar she wouldn't have told him that she was a liar (which wasn't true) she would have just said that she told the truth all the time. The fight I referred to before was about how Annabel stormed out of this club Owen took her too so she could see some good music but she ran into Clarke (her former best friend). This brought up all these emotions and she got sick and bolted and she wouldn't tell him why because it all referred back to that night with Will Cash.

2. I like this book very much because I think the characters are very interesting and everybody's specific character is so different than another. Like Annabel is quiet and has a hard time saying what is on her mind and cannot stick up for herself. Where Owen is upfront and honest all the time, and will handle his problems face to face and has anger management. And Mallory is all peppy, annoying and cute and a wanna-be model. SO as you can see these 3 people are all in close relationship but each one of their personalities help the other people become who they are and a stronger person. I also like it because of the plot of the book, I really like how Owen helps Annabel with all of her problems and how Sofie (the mean girl of the school) ruined her and Owen was never affected by it because he lives in his own world with his 7 A.M radio show on mondays and his classic bacon adventure with Rolly.

3. A theme I have noticed in this book is Family. I notice it in the relationship between Whitney(the middle child), Annabel(the youngest child) and Kirsten(the oldest child). There is tension between the three sisters all the time. Such as the issues with Whitney and her eating disorder that she tries to over come every day by her group who is instructed by this teacher named Moira. Also how Kirsten was a model and she changed her career to film making. ALso the tension between Whitney and Kirsten because Kirsten ratted Whitney out to their family about her eating disorder but now in the book they are getting along rather well compared to how they did before.

4. Owen is my favorite character because he is always honest, and he is always there for Annabel. Owen was there for Annabel when she needed a ride from school, when she needed help with the rapist situation, when she had no friends; he was always there. Also, he will always tell the truth no matter how much trouble it gets him in because thats just the kind of person he is. Also he is my favorite because of how big he is he doesn't care about what anybody else thinks around him. He is so secure about that stuff although Owen has his issues with anger management its okay because he tries his best to prevent himself from exploding. Like using his breathing exercises and some other methods from his anger management classes.

5. Sofie is my least favorite character for many reasons. One reason is that she seems so mean and so bossy and can control your reputation so easily because of all her power. She is the mean popular kid who is out to get everyone who upsets her the least bit and doesn't need a reason because everyone is scared of her. Two is that she ruined Annabel's school reputation because her boyfriend raped her. Although she may not have known it at the time but you don't have to go after somebody that much if something like that happened especially if their your best friend.

6. I think that Owen will give Annabel her courage to tell her family about how she does not want to model anymore and she will get her old friends and Karma will take it's place throughout the book and Sofie will be sad and lonely and Annabel will be cheery and happy like things should have been the entire time.

Scarlet is 16 and she is 9 months pregnant. She and her best friend Halley are going to prom. Scarlet is going with her friend, Cameron, and Halley is going with her mom’s best friend’s son, Noah. The parents are gathering around and taking pictures of them.

I think that in the book Someone Like You there are good messages. One of these messages is you shouldn’t change just to fit in. An example of when someone changed to fit in is when Halley was at a party, where she drank alcohol and did drugs. The result was that she was in a car crash and was seriously injured. Another message from the book is that your friends really need you. An example of that is when Scarlett was in labor. Scarlett only wanted Halley to stay in the room with her while she had the baby. This book is not like other books, because the plot is different. In most books normally it is that some girl is pregnant and her parents get mad at her and then the father of the baby abandons her. However in this book Scarlett became pregnant and her mom was mad at her but she got over it and helped her. Also the father of the baby died in a motorcycle accident before they knew she was pregnant.

In this book the theme is friendship because Scarlett helps Halley when she and her mom had a period where they did not get along. Also Halley helped Scarlett throughout the pregnancy. Another reason is that Cameron becomes friends with Halley and Scarlett and he becomes a no one to friends with the pregnant girl. Even though Cameron knew that it would be weird being friends with the Scarlett he still became friends with her and they ended up being best friends.

Halley is my favorite characters for three reasons: she is a good friend, knows when she makes mistakes, and is caring toward others. She shows that she is a good friend because even though in the end she did not want to be in the delivery room, she still went in to be with Scarlett. Halley demonstrates that she knows her mistakes because when she was going out with her boyfriend, Macon, behind her mom’s back’ she knew it was wrong and broke up with him. She shows that she is caring towards others because she did not like Elizabeth that much but when she saw she was upset she still tried to make her feel better.

Elizabeth is my least favorite character because the few times she talked, it seemed that she was trying to be mean. Also, when she talked she made threats and tried to scare people because she was jealous of them or wanted what they had.

Since I finished the book, I am going to say something I would have changed. I think that Macon should not have pulled up in his car like superman because that was really predictable. Instead, she should have tried to find him or ask someone to borrow their car.

1. In my book right now, Franny, Cal, Brooklyn, and Prescott have figured out that in the brownies served at the albright academy have an unknown chemical in them. The chemical causes the students to become very organized, smart, hardworking, and compliant. The Albright Acedemy is a boarding school designed for leaders and teaches the students all the "life skills" they need to know. But mysteriously, all the students there are absoulutely perfect, from looks, grades, health, and even sports. They stay perfectly organized and all rebellious behavior they might have had before reaching the academy is eliminated. Cal recently had her appendix burst while hiking one day and was hospitalized for over two weeks. During this time, a teacher, Ms. Lollyheart brought her all sorts of food, from green beans, to the "healthy" brownies. Cal obviously doesn't fell well, so doesn't eat the food. The doctors and teachers are begging her to eat, but not the green beans. The brownies. So, since she hadn't been eating the brownies for a long period of time, Cal felt more rebellious, and not willing to do whatever she was told. She was less happy, and found herself becoming very disorganized. After being brought back to the academy, she told her friends of her amazing discovery. At first, the didn't believe her but later realized she might actually not be going crazy. They all agreed not to eat the brownies for one month, and soon found that Cal's statement was proven true. Over Christmas break, the friends switched out the "Variant II" brownie mix from the school kitchen and exchanged it for a normal kind fom the supermarket. Prescott, the science geek of the group did some research and found thet the "Variant II" mix had three unknown chemical compounds.

2. I am enjoying this book a lot because it is very exciting and makes me want to keep reading and reading. Franny, the main character, sneaks into the principal's office to try to find out what is being added to make the students behave so perfectly/abnormally. She overhears a conversation that proves what they know;the brownie mix is spiked. I think that scene proves how facinating the story is to me.

3. The theme in this book is friendship and trust because it is about a bunch of friends solving a mystery. The have to learn to trust each other in doing every little action. They have to trust that one of them won't decide to get them all kicked out and get all the respect from teachers, which would then lead them to a successful life later on. The school even has sudents spouses, colleges, and proffessions all planned out.

4. My favorite character is Brooklyn because he is smart, down to earth, and the first one to come up with plans. For example, he came up with a successful way to get Franny unnoticed into principal Bodemfedder.

5. My least favorite character is Prescott because he is stuck up, nerdy, and too blunt with what he says. For example, while visiting Cal in the hospital room, he asked why she had been so stupid to go on the hike even while she was getting huge stomach pains.

6. I think the group of friends will find a way to elimainate the use of wierd brownies that change how everyone thinks and create a school that is honest, and educational.

  1. Since I haven't really gotten into my book very much yet, nothing (interesting) is really happening. But basically, its starting out like any other CHERUB book. First, James (the main character) is at his home MI5 base, waiting to be assigned to a mission. He had to run 20 laps around the track because he lost a violent game, after being pinned against his friends. I'm not sure about this next part, but I will try to explain it the best I can. I think that the book talks about a past mission, one which was never written about, where Kerry Change (James' ex-girlfriend) is in China trying to take down a terrorist group called Help Earth. They are planning a sting operation to try to find out who is involved in the group.
  2. I think this is going to shape up to be a very good book because the plot so far is intense. This could mean that there is a lot of action and adventure, but this is like most other CHERUB books. I support the fact that they go back in time because it's a great foreshadow to the future mission (like I read about on the back of the book in the summary) which could include the Help Earth terrorist group.
  3. I think I have noticed the theme of trying your best. I noticed this theme when James was in the brutal competition against his friends, where he had to fight the fellow memebers of him gym class (~12) for 10 balls, and the two people left had to do 20 laps. James clearly could have won, and wouldn't have had to do laps but he let go of the ball at the last second because he was too tired to carry on.
  4. My favourite character is Bruce because he is the only one really talked about in this book so far, so he is the only interesting one. He was also in this really great scene when he took down a huge 100kg Australian man by knocking him unconscious in a David vs. Goliath fight.
  5. My least favourite character is Kerry Chang (James' Ex) because she is complaining and she always looks at the downside of things, which is a characteristic I really don't like about Kerry. I could see why she dumped James, because she would always get mad at him for no reason at all. These easy frustration can lead James astray, because she sometimes acts like she wants James back.
  6. I predict the James will be assigned with his ex-girlfried the a Help Earth mission, because that would make an interesting book.

1. What is going on in your book right now?

After spending a lot of time with Jacob, things have now changed. Jacob has mono, according to Billy, his father. Bella continuously tries to contact the Blacks to figure out when he will be better. She needs him to help cure the hole in her heart from Edward. His company had helped her get though the horrible nightmares she has every night. Eventually, Bella gets curious and drives to La Push to see what’s up. She is shocked to see Jacob with Sam Uley’s clan. Just a few weeks ago he had been telling her how much he despised him. She cannot believe that he cut his beautiful silky black hair and joined this group. Has she lost him to Sam Uley?

2. How do you feel about this book so far?

I love the Twilight Saga. In fact, I am re-reading this book to refresh my memory for the movie that comes out this Friday! I hope that the movie follows the plot, lives up to the expectations it has and impresses all. I believe that although this book has a darker viewpoint than Twilight it is still very well written and fits in well. It shows that life isn’t always sweet and sugary with relationships.

3. What is a theme in this book you have noticed?

A theme in this book that I have noticed is betrayal. At the end of Twilight, Edward promised that he would stay with Bella until it became unsafe for her. After the birthday incident with Jaspar, the Cullens move on. Edward explains to her in the woods shortly before they depart that Carlisle can barely pass for his age and they needed to start over soon anyways. Before departing, he demanded that she promise one thing, to stay safe. Bella notices that she can hear Edward’s velvet voice in her head whenever she breaks this promise. One of those times being when she goes to Jacob and rides on his motorcycle. The relationship of Edward and Bella has deteriorated due to betrayal.

4. Who is your favorite character?

At the moment my favorite character is Charlie. His minor character has tried to be the loving father character thoughout Twilight and New Moon. He is devastated when Edward departs, leaving him to pick up the pieces of his heart-broken daughter. After a period of time allowing Bella to mope around, he tells her “enough-is-enough” and pleads with her to do something. This suggestion leads her to noticie that Jacob is a medicine for the rugged hole in her heart.

5. Who is your least favorite character?

My least favorite character is Jacob. Bella has been trying to contact him for a long period of time and all he does is ignore her. Even if he had decided to stop hanging out with her, it would be kind to call and tell her he was okay. I believe the way he handled the situation he is in with Bella was poor. Eventually she would get suspicious about what happened to him.

6. What do you think will happen next?

Unfortunately, I did read this book last year, but I will “predict” what I remember happening next. I believe that after Bella’s situation with Jacob smooths over, Alice arrives. Bella is so happy to see her that she doesn’t realize that she has come for something in particular. Edward is in trouble, he is traveling to Italy in hopes that he will upset the Volterra to the point where he is killed. Bella cannot believe what she is hearing. Soon afterwards, Alice and Bella race out of the country to try to stop Edward.

1. Right now, what is happening in my book is that the main character Bella Swan is going to watch her boyfriend, Edward Cullen and his family play baseball. However, the Cullens are not all that they seem. They are vampires, who cannot go out in the sun where they can be seen, drink blood, and live forever. What sets them apart from all other vampires is that the Cullens do not drink human blood, only animals. Edward tries not to hurt Bella, but her blood is especially potent for him. Will Bella leave Edward, at the cost of her true love? Or will she stay with him at the cost of her possible demise? Soon, she will have to decide.

2. So far in this book, I feel that it is fantastic. I have read this book before, as well as the rest of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, and I have always enjoyed the subtle, ironic sense of humor displayed throughout the book. I also enjoy the way the character Edward Cullen talks. He was born in 1901, and uses the words and phrases customary to that time period. He also uses several large words, such as ‘unequivocally’ and these make the reading more challenging and enjoyable.

3. So far in this book, I have noticed the theme of bravery. Bravery comes up as a main theme in many places, such as when Bella figured out that Edward was a vampire. Most people would have been scared silly by this fact, but Bella took it calmly, and coolly. Also, the way that Edward spends so much time alone with Bella, when it is so difficult for him to resist her blood. Most people would not consider this act one of bravery, but Edward loves Bella so much that he would not be able to stand it if he hurt her, and by spending time with her he constantly lives in fear that he will lose control, and hurt Bella. These apperances of bravery in the book Twilight show that bravery is not the absence of fear, but conquering the fear you have.

4. My favorite character in the book Twilight is Edward. He is difficult to figure out, and will always surprise you by laughing when you expect him to be angry,or vice- versa. This is evident so much that at one point in the book, Bella accuses Edward of being bi-polar. Also, I enjoy his ironic sense of humor. He is always cracking sly jokes that prove to have a later, more signifigant meaning. Overall, Edward Cullen is my very favorite character.

5. My least favorite character is Rosalie Cullen, Edward’s very beautiful and confident sister. Right from the start, Rosalie takes an extreme disliking to Bella, for reasons that she refuses to tell Bella. Rosalie is cold, and hard towards Bella, and always avoids her. She is my least favorite character in the whole book. (So far!)

6. I predict that Rosalie will soon either explain why she hates Bella so much, or stop hating her.

1. Right now in my book, the demigods are desperately trying to hold out against the titan army, headed by Kronos. Since all the Gods are trying to stop Typhon, a demon that almost destroyed them before, they receive little help from them, and will have to fight this battle on their own.

2. So far this has been a suspenseful and thrilling book. The fights are written in great detail which is one of the attractive parts of the book. Throughout this book and the four others the characters are very well-developed.

3. So far, I think the theme in this book is working together and helping out one another. During the battle, whenever they seem to be on the brink of loosing reinforcements come out of nowhere, so that the battle may continue another day.

4. My favorite character in this book is Percy Jackson. He is the main character of the book, leading the battle and is very brave. One of the titans is trying to make him surrender, but time and time again he refuses.

5. My least favorite character in this book is Luke. He was once fighting for the gods, but he chose to betray them in order to go over to the titans. They are trying to wipe out the gods and enslave humanity. Now the evil lord Kronos, out of tartarus, is using his body as a host and leading the fight against the gods.

6. I think that next the gods will realize that Typhon is a distraction and come back to save Olympus.
