Zoe Hutcher, Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen, Realistic fiction, challenge, 83

1. Right now in my book the main character, Jacob, is on the train with his roommate Kinko. Kinko does not want Jacob to be rooming on the train with him so he is making him sleep on the floor on a horse blanket. Jacob's parents died so he ran away and is now helping out with the circus. He is on the train because the circus is traveling around visiting different spots.

2. This book is very different from other books. It switches from being in the past at the circus to being in the present at the nursing home. I think that it is interesting how the time periods change because you will find something out and be wondering why that made Jacob upset the the nest chapter you will find out the whole story behind something.

3. I think the theme in the book is adventure. I think that Jacob has turned his life into one big adventure. He did not know where he was going when he started following the rail road tracks and he still does not know where the circus is gong to take him.

4. My favorite character is Camel because he takes Jacob under his wing and helps him out when he jumps on the train. Also he get Jacob a job as the vet. Now Jacob takes care of the animals.

5. My least favorite character is Kinko because her is mean to Jacob and he does not let him touch anything except the horse blanket which he sleeps on on the floor. Also I think that Kinko thinks that he is better the Jacob because he is a performer in the circus not a vet for the circus so he should get more praise and attention.

6. I think that now that Jacob is helping the animals he is gong to start to have a lot of friends from the circus and also he is gong to be very helpful. Also the animals will start to be in better conditions which will help the customers because the animals will look better.
