1) right now in the book the boy(it was written in first person, so he doesn't have a name) has been beat up by his mom for now doing his chores fast enough, so he wasn't feed breakfast. right when he gets to school the school nurse examines him for any bruises cuts or anything. he used the excuse "i ran into the door" but the nurse doesn't seem to buy it any more. when he gets home he has to do chores and he gets beaten if he sits down or does the smallest thing wrong.
2. i like the book alot but its so sad to read about, like having a mother beat there own kids it awful i could never picture that happening to me. but i always like knowing whats gonna happen next.
3. a theme i have noticed so far is courage. even though the boy hates going back to the house, he knows it the only think he can do, he is so brave to stand up to his mom(at times) and with his courage he lasts the day,
4. my favorite character would be the father. the father is the only one that cares about him, the dad always tries to save his son some food and even try to stand up for him. even though its hard to get through to mother.
5. my least favorite character his the mother. i don't like her at all, beat there child is wrong and she drinks all the time and she just doesn't care. she use to be a great mom until she got involved in drinking.
6. my prediction for what is gonna happen next in the book is that the boy is gonna go missing. and the police is gonna get involve or something that will reveal what the mother does.
