Right now, Arthur, Zaphod, Ford, and Trillan are sitting down to enjoy a meal at Milliway's: the Restaurant At The End of the Universe. After being trapped for a while inside an inprobability field, they are tired and hungry. They are seated and ask to meet(?!) the Meal of the Day. A cow-like animal comes out and introduces himself as the Meal of the Day and that his shoulders are particularly tender. While Arthur and Trillan are trying to get a grasp of an animal that wants to happily kill itself for someone's food, Zaphod is poking and prodding to find the best meat, with the help of the Meal.

I think this book is a literary classic and should be read as a summer reading book. Adams demonstrates great ability to blend perfectly humor, reality, and descriptions into one smoothly flowing book. It is the best book I've ever read in my life so far.

3. I notice fear of the unknown as a theme because Arthur has no idea what will happen and why, or how, or where. Up until he went into space, he was an innocent Englishman trying to protect his house from being leveled to make a highway. and is extremely puzzled by the time travel and vortexes.

4. My favorite character is Ford because he is happy-go-lucky and always has a good attitude. He always is funny, and is reasonably smart. He works as an editor for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and was stranded on Earth for 15 years, meeting Arthur there. Ford fit in well because he was extremely similar to humans.

5. My least favorite character es Eddy, the annoying co-pilot robot who's too cheerful. He is very stupid, like when he devoted all of the ship's energy to making a cup of tea while the ship was under attack from the Vogon ship.

6. I think that the Restaurant at the End of the Universe will explode into nothing and the series will have to end.
