1. Since this is my first blog since I started the book, I will explain the entire book. In the beginning, the President talked to and threatened Katniss about her stunt in the Hunger Games that she won. The President said that using the death grapes to be able to spare herself and Peeta was an act of rebellion, and he was afraid that something would happen in the other Districts. President Snow was very vague and uninformative when he said this, Katniss knew that the President knew something. Katniss later finds out that District 8 has broken out in rebellion, and she meets people who have ran away to the woods to find District 13, a district that was destroyed 75 years earlier.
2. I absolutely love this book! It's already as good as, if not better, than the original book The Hunger Games. The characters are great and the plot is amazing. I'm really excited to read about this year's Hunger games because it is a special Hunger Games that only comes around every 25 years. I'm hoping that it will re-invite people from the old Hunger Games to play again.
3. A theme that I've seen in this book is rebillion. I think this theme really powers the book because it is seen in every chapter and is talked about by many of the characters. I see this theme being talked about by Katniss. She mentions it when she talks about the districts joining together or seperately to rebel against the Capitol. Collins actually shows this theme when District 8 rebels against the Capitol, so that is where I see the theme mostly.
4. My favorite character is Katniss because she is being very strong in this situation, since not many girls would have to marry someone because they are forced to at such a young age. Katniss has to get married to Peeta just because President Snow wants to show that "Katniss did not rebel to offend the nation, she rebelled to save her lover!", which I think is very tough for Katniss.
5. My least favorite character is President Snow because he always wants to have his way and that is never good for Katniss since he wants complete power and for everyone to respect him. He relates to Curely from Of Mice and Men because of how he wants respect and wants people to fear him.
6. I predict that the Hunger Games will plan something extra strange because it is leading up to something like that because of all this talk about rebellion.
