1. Right now the men have just killed Lucy the vampire and are now planning to kill Dracula. Apparently the new home of Dracula is an old castle that is nextdoor to Dr.Sewards assylum which is fortunate that it is so close by. Mina has talked to the group of vampire hunters and given them all of the information they need. They do not want Mina to come with them in case she might be killed or turned into a vampire. Mina has met Dr.Sewards lunatic pacient Renfield and oddly has been acting sane in front of her. Dr.Seward found that Mina has some affect on Renfield which could be big in the future.

2.The book has been very captivating so far. The action and suspense has kicked up since the death of lucy. But it has kicked up only a little. There is allot of mourning and crying right now which is not very exciting. But that usually leads to a good part like an exciting twist. This book is really good and I do like it.

3. The theme is sorrow. There is so much death and sadness in the book. I would say that half of the book is the main characters comforting each other after the other half of the book which is the mystery and suspense of the vampire hunting and people dying. One example which just happened was when lucy died arthur became very sad and just cried on his friends shoulders. He literally did that. Lucy died because they had to kill her because she became a vampire which is an example of the vampire slaying that happens in the book.

4. My favorite character is Dr. Van Helsing because he seems to know everything and has an iron nerve. He knows allot about vampires and las the group of vampire hunters in a view that science can't explain everything so it is somewhat difficult for the main characters to understand him because what is happening is not heard of. Most people don't believe in vampires and demons and such so for most of the characters this is beyond the realm of possibility. He also gives the team hope and tries to explain to everyone what is going on. He uses phrases similar to there is always light at the end of the tunnel and stuff like that. Lastly,  what the group has had to do has put everyone through great suffering but Dr. Van Helsing is rarely very emotional and keeps pushing forward no matter what.

5. My least favorite character is Dracula. He has caused allot of pain and death and horror to the main characters. He is not like any super villain you would see in today's books. He doesn't hold people hostage or plans to fire a disease or missile into a city from an underground secret lab and a special agent comes in to save the day. Dracula has held  one character (Jonathan) prisoner and tortured him. He has also terrorized a town by making lucy into a vampire who would attack kids and he has brutally killed many people. Dracula is one of the most evil villains that I have ever read about in a story.

6.I predict that the group will soon go to Dracula's castle but someone will either die or become a vampire. Also, Renfield will let Dracula into Dr. Seward's asylum and Dracula will either kill Dr. Seward or turn him into a vampire.
