1. Percy, Annabeth, and Clarisse have finally found Grover who was trapped on Polyphemus island. Polyphemus is a man eating cyclopes who thought Grover was his bride-to-be (he has really bad eye sight) and had Grover trapped on his island. Percy's companions were racing towards their ship while Percy and Tyson held the cyclopes back. Percy hurt the Cyclops's eye so it's eye sight was even worse, if it could see at all. When they were just about to get away Clarisse started taunting the cyclopes and because the cyclopes could hear them it was able to through some well aimed rocks at them. One of the rocks landed on there ship (Annabeth, Grover, and Clarisse are on the ship), sinking it.

2. I am liking the book a lot. It is very full of action and adventure and they always seem to have some problem to solve. I like how all the events in the story are intertwined and everything happens for a reason. For example when Annabeth was little she had a run in with a Cyclopes and it scared her a lot. Now, later in her life, she has had another run in with some Cyclopes. Polyphemus, who is a very bad Cyclopes, and Tyson, who is a very nice Cyclope's.

3. I think the main theme of this book is friendship. There are many different friendships in this book. Annabeth and Percy are very good friends and can get through anything together. Percy and Annabeth are also friends with Grover and if they weren't, he would have probably died on Polythemus's island because he couldn't escape. Percy and Tyson are friends and half-brothers and though Percy was at first embarrassed that they were related, he has realized how kind Tyson is. Without Tyson, Percy may have died multiple times and because they are friends he didn't.

4. My favorite character is Percy. He is determined in succeeding in saving his friend Grover from the Cyclopes, saving his camp from monsters, and saving the world from being ruled by the Kronos (Kronos was the terrible leader of the Titans). He cares very much for his friends and tries very hard to help them when they are in trouble.

5. My least favorite character is Luke. He used to go to the same camp as Percy and his friends and has known Annabeth since she was seven. He was kind and helpful to them in the beginning of the series but was always really supporting Kronos and trying to help him become powerful again. In this book he is helping heal Kronos from when he was chopped up into lots and lots of pieces by the gods.

6. My prediction is that Rainbow, a hippocampus that took a liking towards Tyson, will get a couple of friends to help get them to the main land. At the main land, they will make sure that Annabeth is okay, because Polythemus hurt her. Then they will quickly head back to camp to deliver the golden fleece which they stole from Polythemus. They need the golden fleece to help save there camp from monsters that are invading because the tree spirit of Thalia daughter of Zeus's was poisoned. The tree was acting as a border keeping monsters out. But, on the way to camp, I think that they will probably run into Luke.
