1. Right now in my book the rabbits have finally started making a permanent warren. After leaving Cowslip’s Warren, they walked over three miles until they came to a hill, Watership Down. Fiver said that they should build their own warren at the top of the hill. So Hazel, Dandelion, and Hawkbit went to check it out, and it turned out to be the perfect place for a new warren. They had been working on their warren for a while when Captain Holly and Bluebell, from their warren, showed up in bad condition. It turns out the Fivers premonition was right and men came with guns and filled their warren with poisonous rabbit food. Captain Holly, Bluebell, and Pimpernel had followed Hazel’s path out of the warren until they were attacked by Cowslip’s warren, who ended up killing Pimpernel. With more people from their previous warren, the rabbits are starting to feel more at home.

2. So far I really don’t like this book. The main reason I don’t like it is because it is a fantasy book. I really don’t like reading fantasy books because they are so hard to relate to which I think is a very important quality of a book. Also all of the rabbit’s names are very cheesy rabbit names, like Hazel and Dandelion. I feel like this book is like a bad version of Animal Farm.

3. A theme I have notice so far in the book is home. The rabbits leave their warren in search for a perfect warren, not just because of the looming danger, but because they think they can make a better warren. They settle down in a couple of places before finding the “perfect” warren, Watership Down. They soon find that their new warren is missing many crucial elements.

4. My favorite character is Hazel. I like Hazel because he is a really good leader of the rabbits and always seems do the right thing for the group. Also he has to balance pleasing the group but also listening to his brother’s premonitions. I think he does a good job of satisfying everyone.

5. My least favorite character is Cowslip. Cowslip created trust between Hazel and the rest of the rabbits but then didn’t help them when Bigwig was caught in a snare. Also Cowslip and his warren killed Pimpernel just because Holly, Bluebell, and Pumpernel were passing by.

6. I think that the warren will finally find some does so they can keep their warren alive. Then Cowslip’s Warren will find them to get revenge on them.
