Will Gooch
The Pigman
Paul Zindel
Realistic Fiction
Just Right
pg. 58
1) Right now the main character, John Conlan, is argueing with his father at the dinner table. His family is having a family dinner and most of the members have left the table except for John and his dad. John wants to go to acting school and follow that path because he feels he's good at it and all of his friends say he should. His father wants him to be a working man and find a suitable job to get money. He tells John about when he was a kid and how they had to work and not just use your imagination and act silly to get money.
2) So far I feel this is an interesting book. It is well written and I like how the author styles this novel. It is a great adventure and every page has kept me hooked and wanting to read more. It is a great book.
3) A large theme so far that I've mainly noticed would have to be bravery. Both John and his good friend Lorraine Jenson have displayed many acts of bravery and courage. They are both two adventurous youngsters in highschool who are willing to put their lifes on the line and accept a challenge.
4) My favorite character is John Conlan, who is also the main character. He's a really cool guy with a good sense of humor and an adventurous attitude. I like how he is up for anything and will stand up for what he thinks is right. Also, he is a very good friend and helps out whenever possible.
5) So far my least favorite character is John Conlans dad. He isn't a bad person but isn't always a very nice guy and mostly expects John to be just like him and live with the same morales. He can be unfair to John sometimes and just thinks of what is best for him instead of asking John what he thinks.
6) For what is going to happen next, I'm not really sure because there a few possible things. What I believe will happen is that John and Lorraine will try and find out some more things about this man named Mr. Pignata, or who they know as, the pigman.
