1. Right now in the book There is a kid named Paul Fisher and he has glasses. He thinks he looks like an alien. But, he still notices the very weird things that are happening in his knew home in Tangerine, Florida. He sees a sinkhole swallow an entire school. He sees the fire that has been burning underground for years. Lastly, he notices that lightning strikes at the same place every day. He doesn't have an easy time adjusting to the knew life, especially with the harassment he gets. Also his football star brother picks on him. So, he has a crappy life and he doesn't know what to do about these weird things. The only thing he does that makes him feel like himself is joining the soccer team.

2. So far i feel pretty bad about this book. I don't think it is very interesting and I feel it is going to be like a lot of other books I have read in the past. I also don't like how it is so easy to guess what is about to happen. You get so many hints that it's not fun or surprising.

3. A theme I have noticed so far in the book is loneliness. Paul has no friends, and his family doesn't really pay attention to him. All they care about is his brother and his football career. He doesn't have any hobbies and only plays soccer. Even though he is good, everyone picks on him for having no friends and for having glasses. He is the definition of lonely because he has no one looking out for him and no one that he can actually talk to.

4. Right now my favorite character is Paul. He doesn't really have anything that would make his life good. Every one is mean to him, including his family, and he has no friends. When he finds something he's good at, like soccer, he sticks with it and won't let anyone put him down. He just works harder and proves them wrong. He won't let anyone get to him and he lives his life happily. I know that that was me I would be mean back to those kids and I would be depressed all the time. Paul is the exact opposite of that.

5. My least favorite character is Jack, Tangerine's older brother. He is the schools best football player and he is very full of himself. He has a lot of friends and all the girls are head-over-heels for him. His brother is a disappointment to him. He says how he would be better off without him and that he is a disgrace to the family. He is just so mean to his brother until he gets good at soccer. Then when Paul gets some friends, he starts being nice to him. I think its wrong to only be nice to him because he has friends and he doesn't want to lose his good reputation.

6. I predict that something very interesting will happen in the town. There has to be some magical reason that all this stuff keeps happening. And if no one else is paying attention to it, I think everyone else already knows. Also, I think Paul's soccer team will win the State Championships. Then Jack's football team will lose right away. Then Paul will bully his brother so he knows what it is like to be the loser in the family.
