1. In my book right now, Macy, the main character, is thinking about her father. Mr. Queen, had had a fatal heart attack while running the day after Christmas, and died in the ambulence on the way to the hospital. He had asked if Macy wanted to go running with him, and she had said no, but a few minutes later changed her mind and quickly left the house to try to catch up with him. Instead, he was lying at a bend in the road recieving CPR from a man who had been passing by at the time. Macy had been very close to her dad and missed him incredibly. Her mother owns and runs a construction buisness, and Macy is sure she is in for a long hot summer, while her boyfriend Jason is away at camp for the next two months.

2. I am enjoying this book so far, and I think that I will enjoy the rest of it too. I think that its really sad how Macy's dad died, and that it is hard to read about someone who has lost so much, even if they are only a fictional character. I have noticed that there doesn't seem to be a plot, at least at the moment, and that it is more just about this teenaged girl and what she goes through in her relationships, and how she copes with her loss. I think that it will be a good, but sad and a little depressing book to read.

3. The theme I notice in this book so far is coping with loss. Caroline, (Macy's sister), Macy, Mrs. Queen, (Macy's mother) and a few other characters in the book are learning how to move on after experiencing the loss of a loved one. For the three of them, it is a husband or father, but for others, it is a loss of friendship, or just a short time loss of someone they care about who is away. Jason, for example, is a short term loss for Macy, because he is her best friend and boyfriend who is away for the summer. Sice they met, he had been really kind and supportive to her, especially after her father's death, and now that he is away for a somewhat long period of time, Macy has to learn other ways to cope with her feelings.

4. My favorite character is Jason, because he is so kind and considerate to Macy. Shortly after her father's death, Macy was assigned to work with him and another girl, but since the other girl didn't pay attention, the two of them did the project together. The were working on some play called Macbeth, and Macy didn't understand it at all. Jason helped her, and while he'd barely started explaing, she forund that when he described things, it made perfect sense. He is really good to her, and always seems to know what she needs.

5. My leat favorite character is Bert. This is because he seems too forward, and is kind of clueless. When he is brought into the story, he is one of the caterers at Mrs. Queens's work cocktail party at the Queen house. He jumps out from behind a bush to scare Macy, but he had thought she was someone else. She drops flyers everywhere. He also says things that make Macy sort of uncomfortable. Overall, he just annoys me to read about, even though he is only mentioned a few times.

6. I think that Macy will get the job with the catering buisness and find herself mixed up in the middle of a fun, hectic, but confusing summer. I think that she will become friends with Wes, Bert's perfect older brother. I think that she will have a tough time choosing betwenn Wes and Jason, if that is what everything comes down to. I think that she will hurt Jason, even after all he did for her, and she will feel bad but everything will work out in the end.
