1. In my book right now Eli found out that he was indeed connected to the Internet, but his father told him that he thinks the temporary government is putting up a blanket wifi network so that remaining survivors can talk to each and communicate. Eli doesn't believe, he thinks that his dad is hiding something big. His dad also has this big obsession with dating things, and when he gives Eli a new CD, and Eli pulls back the sticker and finds out that the date is after they were put in the compound, and he starts getting suspicious.

2. So far, I really enjoy this book. I really like the thought of the whole underground safe house, it's just a really unique story line. But the one part I don't like is when they start talking about the supplements, who you don't know a lot about, but the whole idea is a little to like a science fiction book. I enjoy seeing how you really know if you love someone down in the compound, because nothing like money matters.

3. A theme I've noticed in this book so far is happiness. It's not that we've seen a whole lot of happiness it's the lack of it. How you'd think the survivors of a nuclear war would be happy just to have their lives. Yet, what are they living for? Are they just living for the sake of living? For the sake of saying they lived to be 100 years old. What's the point of living if there is no reason to continue to do so other than to say you are alive. These are all questions that have run through my head as I've been reading, which I think the author wanted you to think about.

4. My favorite character is Eddy Yanakis. Though he is dead, and I haven't met him yet, the way Eli has described him makes him sound really nice. Eli continually talked about how Eddy was always the nice one, the funny one, and the popular one. He talks about how Eddy saved his life in Hawaii, when he was at the bottom off a hill with only a tree stopping him from falling off a cliff. And at one birthday party, when Eli thought Eddy got all the good stuff, he switched the names, but Eddy still acted like he got the best presents ever.

5. My least favorite character in this book is Eli's dad Mr. Yanakis. Their father is so secretive, and keeps a lot to himself, and I just think he is just very dangerous to the family.Eli's mom was looking at the Monet above their bed and realized it was the original that they had at their house. This means Mr. Yanakis switched the paintings, which means he knew the nuclear attack was coming, and yet didn't save his son or his mother-in-law. I think there is something very big we're yet to find out about Mr. Yanakis.

6. I think and hope that Eli will confront his dad about the painting and about the Internet. I think something big will happen, something to do with the internet, and maybe something to do with his brother Eddy. I also think we will find out more about the supplements, and maybe something big will happen having to do with them. I want them all to go outside.
