1.) Right now, in my book, Artemis mother is ill. Artemis obtained some power from the fairies he had met, last month, and tried to use the remaining power to help his mother. After he had collected every once of power in his body, he touched her hand, and Artemis' mother rose about five feet above her bed with glowing blue lights entrapping her whole body. Artemis tried his hardest to cure his mothers fatal disease, but it did not seem to work. Artemis had used every ounce of power to try to cure his mother, and now it was gone and he could no longer use anymore. At this point in the book, everything has been extremely sad and depressing. Though everything has been sad and depressing, this book has been extremely amusing to read.
2) So far, I think this book is phenominal. Though I havent read any of these books in order throughout the series, Eoin Colfer has done a great job describing enough for me to understand what she is trying to explain or describe. This book started off with a catchy beginning, having a problem already established in the novel, but it seems like the problem is getting to large, so I wonder what Artemis will do to help her and her illness.
3) So far, the theme I have noticed the most is depression. Everything since the starting of the first page, has related to this theme. Eoin picked an originial way to start off the book, and in this case I think it was a good idea. He captured the readers attention from the very start of the novel. The depression of Artemis' mother dieing is the jist of what I've been reading at the start of the book this whole time. Depression has made this book extremely sad but at the same time very interesting to read, knowing that something can just popp out of the blue.
4) So far, Artemis has been my favorite character. Given that he has used all of his fairy power on trying to save his mom, it makes Artemis a generous person. It shows that he does not just care about himself, but that he is extremely unselfish. I also like Artemis because he resembles me in a way. He resembles me with his age, and the way he thinks. For example, when I predict what Artemis will do next, I always end up being correct. It seems as if Artemis and I think exactly similar.
5) So far, my least favorite character is Artemis' mom. It seems as if Artemis' mom has given up all of her hope, and stopped believing that Artemis could save her. She thinks that she wil die no matter what, which is why she has been irritating me lately. She has given up all hope for life, and has been acting like she has been living her last moments on Earth. Though I really cannot blame her because if she has been diagnosed with a deadly disease, you can't blame her for having several depressing thoughts.
6) I predict that in the future Artemis' mom will die. It seems like nothing can stop her from dieing now. Usually, the powere Artemis recieves from the fairies work, but it seems they didnt on his mother. I feel like Artemis' mom will die, but Artemis will find out she didn't die of a disease, she died of a spell a bad person casted on her. Artemis will be on a quest to find and get revenge on the person that had killed his mother.
