1. The book just ended and after a lot of time spent, Hugo figured out the mystery of the automaton, he finds out it was Georges Melies who built it. Also he finds out that Melies made hundreds of movies and Hugo loved movies. Hugo also finally got to see the end of his dads favorite movie which was also made by Melies. After a lot of inspiration from the movies Hugo decides that he will become a magician.

2. This was a very interesting book to read. There was not a lot of text in the book it was mainly pictures but as the saying goes "a picture is wort 1000 words". The pictures in this book certainly had a lot of meaning. Also i found it kind of interesting that the end of the book has a relationship with the beginning similar to that of To Kill a Mockingbird. This book was certainly an interesting read and the pictures really did tell the story.

3.A theme I noticed in the book was trust. Hugo had to trust Isabelle when she said she could take him to the movies even though he thought it might be a bad idea. Hugo also had to trust both his father and his uncle but mainly his uncle because he had to have faith that his uncle would teach him correctly and that he wouldn't just vanish one day like he did. Also Isabelle had to trust Hugo when he said that her grandfather (George) would know about the automaton.

4. My favorite character in the book was Hugo. I thought he had the coolest job of fixing the clocks. I liked how he could do things without people seeing him and I thought it was cool that he had a secret place to live that nobody else knew about. Hugo also was able to walk up the stairs and have an entire view of Paris from the grand clock. This would have been so cool for me, I wish I could have been in Hugo's little hideout.

5. My least favorite character was George Melies. This is because he was so stuck up and stubborn about everything. I found it quite annoying that he just threw out his past like that and he refused to talk about it or anything. He was a genius and yet he refused to accept it, he should have used the gift he had and created more movies but he didn't he just stopped. He hurt a lot of other people just so he could feel good about himself even though he wasn't even feeling that good about himself.

6. After finishing the book I thought to myself that there probably will not be another book. I think that there is no reason for a sequel the book stands fine on its own. However if Selznick were to make a sequel i feel that it would be about Hugo's career as a magician and maybe even a movie maker. But I think this would be redundant because when Melies' life is explained in the book it would be pretty much the same thing as Hugo's career.
