1. Right now in my book the main character, who is also the author, is in Key West Florida, it is 1972. Jack is 19 years old, he graduated high school a few weeks ago (a year late). He just came from the University of Florida where he and his friend, Tim, attempted to steal drugs. Jack was waiting for Tim outside of the campus near where the drugs are grown, and Tim never showed up to meet Jack and so Jack decided to go meet up with his family who live in the Virgin Islands. He is currently on the way.

2. So far I like this book, I is a very different book from the ones I usually read. I don't read a lot of biographies and I read even fewer autobiographies. I like the autobiography especially because it is not simply narrating the life of a famous person, it is just about your average guy, who happens to like writing. Also in the beginning of the book he describes his some of his experiences in jail. I found this part of the book really interesting.

3. A theme I have seen so far in this book is impulsiveness. The author makes a lot of poor impulsive decisions, such as deciding against college and getting into drugs. He makes it clear to the reader throughout the book that he regrets these decisions. All these impulsive decisions eventually land the author in jail.

4. My favorite character is Jack. He likes to read and write so he always has a lot of interesting thoughts and opinions on things. He is not quite a hippy, although they were common at this time, but he is kind-of hippyish. He is easy going, into drugs, and has very long hair, however for all I know everybody might have been like that in the 70's.

5. My least favorite character is Tim. I liked Tim, he was just Jack's friend who was in pre-med. But he was the one that got Tim into marijuana and it seems like he ditched Jack at the University, even though I don't know that for sure yet. Tim could easily come back into the book and end up being Okay, but as of right now he is my least favorite character.

6. I predict that Jack will go to jail, because that is in the beginning of the book, but then I think he will make a change in his life. He doesn't seem like a bad guy he is just kind of misguided. After all I know that somehow he becomes a successful author. What I don't know, is why Jack will go to jail. He lives pretty illegally, but my guess is that it he will be charged with something related to drug-dealing.
