1 Right now, Connor and Risa narrowly escaped, having been ditched by Lev in the middle of a high school, who sent the police after them, only to regret it. Lev has finally realized that to be tithed is awful, and now that he has escaped, he has nowhere to go, and has to come to terms with the fact that to society, he no longer exists. Meanwhile, Connor and Risa have escaped the school, posing as clappers and running to an antique shop, recommended to them by one of the teachers they met. Here they have stayed for 3 days, waiting until they're kicked out. Connor has just written a letter to his parents as ordered by Sonia, the shop keeper, next is Risa.
2. So far this book is amazing. There is action every page and the book intensifies a their lives become more endangered. The only things I would change as the author, would be to write through one of the main characters instead of narrating and the fact that this book goes over the top more often than not. I understand that it's an action book, but it seems as if the only way to grasp attention is to basically have a climax every 20 pages.
3. The theme I've noticed so far is survival and how far it can drive you. For example, when Connor is caught running away, he bolts through the highway, nearly hit by a bus and a Cadillac and killing the bus driver inadvertently.
4. My favorite character so far is Risa. This is because she constantly keeps the group together and always has a level and sensible thinking pattern and she never lets her emotions flaunt her actions.
5. My least favorite character is Lev, this is because up to this point, he had been brainwashed to want to be unwound. He never saw that it was the end of life so he made everything difficult for those trying to help him.
6. I think that as soon as Risa and Connor leave the shop for good, they will rejoin Lev and possibly try to join with the other 3 kids they are staying with.
