1. In my book right now, Katniss and Rue have just made an alliance after Katniss dropped the nest of the tracker jackers, which killed Glimmer and sent the "careers" away. Katniss is still unsure if Peeta Mellark (the other tribute from district 12) warned her to run away from the people that he made an alliance with, after she had been stung by three of the tracker jackers. At the end of the last chapter Katniss said she had a plan to go on the offensive for the first time.

2. So far I have really enjoyed this book. Collins has added so much detail about the way the way Katniss is feeling. I know exactly what Katniss is thinking after something strange or scary happens. This is because she has described the exact way Katniss feels so many times. Like when Katniss saw how Peeta had joined teams with the other careers, I knew Katniss would be devastated because she had hoped that if she didn't win, which means she dies, she had hoped that Peeta would give his family some money, but she overheard them talking saying they want to catch her, and Peeta gave them tips on how to.

3. A theme that I have noticed in this book so far would be desperation. Like how Katniss is desperate for food and she enters her name into the lottery 18 times in order to get tessera. Also how when Prim gets chosen as the tribute, how she is looking desperate, and she wants Katniss to save her, though she would never admit it she was relieved when Katniss volunteered. And how Peeta , who knew that he could not survive on his own, joined an alliance with the careers.

4. My favorite character in my book so far would have to be Katniss. She is so resourceful and so brave. She is resouceful because she knows all of the plants and animals and what dangers they impose. She know what she can do and what she can't do. She was brave by volunteering herself to be the tribute of the district. This took courage and a lot of love for the perosn she was doing it for. I also think she is very skilled with a bow which will help her.

5. My least favorite character in this book so far would be Peeta Mellark. He is boy tribute from district 12. He has been so fake and so mean to Katniss. Throughout the training week he was consistently plotting against Katniss. Like when they did their TV interviews, Peeta said he was in love with Katniss, which would make it hard for him to fight her, just to gain sponsors. But by far the most horrible thing hes done is join into an alliance with the careers. This is essentially betraying his district.

6. I think that the careers will die soon. I think this because at the end of the last chapter Katniss said she had a plan to go on the offensive, which means that she will attack the careers. I do not think that Peeta will die, because he is such an important character, and I'm not sure where he stands. He did join an alliance with the careers, but he also told Katniss to run, so I don't think he will die.
