1.) I have just started the eight book in the series Alex Rider Adventures (italicized). Recently, Alex has gone with Sabina to a New Year's eve party in and old Scottish castle owned by Damian McCain. Alex has spent the Christmas break with Sabina and her family. Neither Sabina or Alex really wanted to go to this party but they went anyways because Sabina's father wanted to go. Many famous actors and singers were there along with many journalists. At the party there was dancing, food, and even a casino. While they were about to leave Mr. McCain caught sight of Alex and asked him to join the game of poker he was playing. Alex agreed and ended up cleaning him out and winning $25,000. Instead of keeping it he decided to give it to the charity that the party was raising money for. While they were driving home on the icy streets their car slid off the road and into a lake.

2.) So far, I am really enjoying this book. I feel like it is going to be like all of the other Alex Rider books I have read. Once I have sat down to read it is difficult to pull myself away. I only feel this way about certain kinds of books. The reason that I appreciate this book so much is because Alex is my age and the fact that he can deal with all that he does is amazing. Also, with the author,s great description it is easy to picture this story in my head.

3.) A theme in this book is hard to find right know. With only 62 pages under my belt I have not been able to figure out what the theme is. The only way that I could think of one is by looking at the earlier books in this series and take the theme from them. f I were to do this I would say the theme is survival because Alex is always getting into life threatening situations and he keeps managing to get out of them alive.

4.) My favorite character is also the main character and he is Alex Rider. This is because he is fairly young yet he manages to work for a national security agency. It is also that he keeps trying to get away from that life but when he gets back in again he does whatever it takes to help his country.

5.) My least favorite character would have to be Damian McCain. At the party that he hosted he seemed mysteriously angry and concerned. This was when Alex had won $15000 off of him. I can understand his anger there. What I was confused about was when he said hello to Edward Pleasure who is Sabina's dad. Mr. Pleasure was writing an article on McCain and although Edward told him there was nothing bad in the article he still seemed concerned.

6.) Alex, Sabina, and her dad recently slid of the road and fell into a lake while in their car. I believe that they will survive the crash but they will have to go back to the castle because there will be no residents anywhere near there. When they reach the castle they might walk in on Damian doing something that is highly illegal. I don't know what exactly that will be but I think it will happen. This is how Alex will get involved with MI6 again.
