- Currently, the book is giving a general background about the people involved in the background of this project to defend mankind from disease. So far, some people from the government have been assembled to contain a small town that has had some kind of outbreak of a disease. They take a look at the town from a bird's eye view with this super-jet that they have obtained. The book is then split into another part which goes into advanced description of how an intelligent scientist assembles his own team to counter disease.
- This book is very challenging and it often takes me more than one time to read the page/chapter. The book uses many words which are specific to the disease, which made it a bit confusing at times.
- A theme that I have noticed is despair since this book is mainly about disease and the people that died in the small town infested with the deadly disease. I see this theme specifically at the small town where the disease struck because in the book it mentions the "lifeless bodies" of the people in the town. It also mentions the one surivior which really painted a picture in my head of a person crawling through the town trying to fight to live.
- My favorite character is Dr. Stone, the scientist who assembles a team to fight the new strains of diseases that may or may not come out. Dr. Stone is my favorite character because in the book they compare him to scientists like Einstein and Bohr. I like it when the book's main character is intelligent.
- Although not many characters have been introduced in this book, I would have to say that my least favorite character is the commander who controls the army. I dislike him because he sometimes makes really arbitrary decisions because there isn't very much reason behind it. One of these decisions was when he decided to send all his crew to investigate the town infested with disease from a bird's eye view, then go in closer. I would just go and barge into the town.
- It's really hard to predict what will happen, but I think that there will be a large breakout of disease (again) that is worldwide, and everyone will die.
