1. Right now, the characters Christopher, Jumar, and Niya are trekking slowly up to the caves where the dragons of Nepal live. These dragons are beautiful, but they drain the color from anything they pass over, and their shadow turns people to bronze. They are trying to find a way to defeat the dragons.
2. I really like this book. It blends true facts about Nepal into an odd world filled with communist terrorists, an invisible boy, and color-draining dragons. I find it real enough that you can imagine yourself there, and interesting enough to keep you hooked onto every page.
3. I have noticed the theme of friendship in this story a lot. When Christopher and Jumar meet, they form such a bond almost immediately. Their friendship allows them to stand by each other in many a trying circumstance. It is very cool to watch their faith in each other allow them to triumph over and obstacle.
4. My favorite character is Christopher. He is friendly towards everyone, and wouldn't harm a fly no matter what, even if not fighting gets him in a lot of trouble. I liked his character from the first line of the story.
5. My least favorite character would be the Great T. the leader of the communist terrorists. while what he intends to do is good and pure from the beginning, he has slowly let power and revenge about something corrupt him until now he has become only a simple terrorist.
6. I think that as the characters have just made it far enough to see the mountains, they will soon be meeting the dragons, and perhaps something else as well. I have a feeling that reaching the mountains may be more difficult than they are anticipating...
