1. Right now in the book the main character Eragon is working on a farm with his uncle Garrow and cousin Roran. Eragon is a orphan. Eragon has just found a suspicious blue egg in the woods. He and his uncle go into town to consult the trader Merlock about the egg.
2. So far I am enjoying the book. I like the author's use of description and detail. However I have already seen the movie so I know some of the plot. Although I am not far into it I already like the book more than the movie. That is a good sign.
3. So far a prominent theme in the book is family. Although Eragon doesn't live with his immediate family, he has close relationships with the people he lives with. They rely on each other for food and money. And that brings them closer together.
4. My favorite character is Eragon. He really tries hard at everything he does and he has allot of responsibilities. This is because he has to work just as hard as everyone else in the family even though he is the youngest.
5. So far I do not like Sloan the butcher. He is the father of Rorans girlfriend Katrina, however. Sloan is not nice to anyone especially Eragon. He is also a butcher which means he has to cut up dead animals which I think is disgusting.
6. Next I think that Eragon's mysterious egg will hatch into a dragon. This is half because i saw the movie and half because the cover of the book has a blue dragon on it. So I am pretty sure that is what will happen nest.
