1. Right now in my book, the dwarfs are in need of a new king and so Eragon has been sent out to make sure that whichever king is chosen will help his cause. Luckily and unluckily for him, a main competitor of his (who are against him) just tried to kill him. This is lucky for him because he lived and now they have been banished and cannot be king. Also, Roran is in a battle and although he disobeyed orders, he managed to keep his troop's casualties to a minimum and without him, they would have most likely lost the battle.

2. Right now I feel that the book is getting a bit too redundant. I've been following Roran's part in the story, and all he's done is fight. Also, Eragon's part has been a lot about politics for the new king. However, I think that the story will change that soon because the king has almost been decided, there's no more campaigning, only voting. Also, because Roran didn't follow orders, he will most likely be removed from the army so both parts of the story are going to change soon.

3. A theme that I have noticed a lot so far is leadership. I see this theme a lot in Eragon's part in the story because the dwarfs are trying to find who their new king will be and leadership is big deal to them. Without leadership, the dwarfs would not be able to help Eragon, and that could cause him to lose the war. I also see leadership as a theme in Roran's part the story. He is trying to move up in the ranks quickly and many men are willing to follow him to the death which shows great leadership skills. He is have trouble with leadership too because he won't follow orders. If there is a better idea that he has then he will follow it in order to keep the casualties down. Although I think it's the right thing to do, he does need to learn to follow orders a bit better.

4. My favorite character right now is Orik. He is a dwarf that wants to become king and is very cunning and funny. He has great ideas and is very smart. Right once you think you know exactly what he is going to do or you think he's been outsmarted, he pulls another trick out of his hat. It is always fun to read about him and try to figure out what he's going to come up with next.

5. Right now my least favorite character is Edric. I like him the least because he is Roran's commander and got very mad at him for not listening to orders even though in my opinion he did the right thing. I think that he did the right thing because he managed to save the lives of many and if he had listened to orders then they would have lost the battle. Instead of Edric being thankful for being able to adapt to the situation so well, he gets mad and treats Roran like a prisoner.

6. Next I think that Roran will be brought to camp and treated as a hero and Edric will have to swallow his pride and I think that Orik will be crowned the next king of dwarfs and will lend his dwarf support to Eragon and then they will once again engage in a war for a little while which might get a little redundant. Also, if my first guess of Roran is wrong then I think he will be treated as a warrior and not allowed to fight anymore.
