1. The main character is Suze, and she is a mediator. That means she can see ghosts and has to help them continue on by fixing whatever is keeping them from leaving. She was facing a ghost who wanted her old life back and was pretty crazy. This ghost, named Heather, was going to kill her boyfriend who broke up with her, people Suze is close with, and Suze her self. Heather wants to kill Suze because Suze made it seem like the Heather could get her life back when that wasn't what Suze meant. Because the Heather is so dangerous Suze snuck off to the school to do this special ritual that will send the ghost on by force. The Heather got very upset when saw that she was being pulled into the portal that as she left, Heather made the roof fall on Suze.

2. I think this book is pretty good. I haven't read to many books with ghosts in them so this is different. The characters are all really interesting and have there own personalities. The begining of the book was a little slow and some people may not have liked it but it kept me interested. I find it funny how the author makes Suze really unpopular at her old school but at the new school she starts to go to in the book, she becomes really popular in only two days.

3. The theme of this book is new starts. Suze gets a whole new start in a new school and her everything in her life is changing. She has new friends, new stepfather and stepbrothers (mom remarried) ,new house and new city. Also, Heather is going to get a new start in wherever the portal brought her. I think new starts plays a big part in this book and Suze will be a different person because she is in this new place.

4. My favorite character is Suze. She speaks her mind and does what she thinks is going to work best. When a girl in her class said something mean she stood up for who she insulted and won the respect of her class by doing so. She seems like someone who would be fun to hangout with and it is also really cool that she can talk to ghosts.

5. My least favorite character would have to be Heather. She has a really terrible temper and not only that but wants to and is trying to kill people. She has almost killed her x-boyfriend twice, almost killed Suze three times, and almost killed the principle of the school once. All in all, not a good person.

6. I predict that this other ghost in the story named Jesse is going to come and save her from the ruble. But, he will accidentally be pulled into the portal. She is going to be really badly hurt and have to go to the hospital and they are going to think she was the one who wrecked the school, not Heather. But, the principle, who is another mediator, is going to cover up for her.
