  1. My book is about a kid who's dream is to play on the big field or play in the MLB. He comes from a poor family playing with his dads old glove and hand me down clothes. He has a great arm. He plays the shortstop for the Boyton Beach Cardinals 226. He has a good team that has the potential to go big to the states or even the nationals. He has been faced with all kinds of adversity throughout his whole life. Will he be the star or will he go home a loser. Read and find out what will happen to his team and Hutch himself.

  2. I really like this book so far. I'm basically a sports junkie. I love sports and sport books. This is a book that I can relate to. I play baseball and it really like the story from a sports players point of view. I hope that i n the future Mike Lupica will write more books like this. I really admire the detail in the book. It feels like you're playing on the field. I feel like I can make the plays and be able to do all the things that Mike Lupica depicts in the book The Big Field.

  3. The theme so far to me has been trouble at home. With Hutch wanting his game to be as best as he can he's always trying to save up money and also asking his mom for money. I think his mom could be more supportive sometimes but she usually is reliable and helps Hutch out with his purchases. The troubled relationship is when Hutch is trying to go places and his mom can't get there. I feel bad for both sides because they always get into a fight. It sometimes reminds me of my situation how sometimes I want to get to a place but my mom can't take me. Now I know how it's like on the other side of a argument.
  4. My favorite character so far would be Hutch. I think he's the best. He never backs down from a challenge. He is tough and he doesn't care about all of the adversity he has to go through to make it in this league. He has a heart for baseball and i love his passion for the game.
  5. My least favorite character so far would have to be his coach. Although hes great it just seems that he's getting old and taking out his rage on all of the kids. I think part of this is because of the hecklers. They are tied with the coach as my least favorite character. They always are pushing the coach to do stupid things and sometimes he does. It just bothers me to see teenagers picking on a 60 year old coach.
  6. This is way out of the box but i think the coach will retire. I don't think that he can take it anymore than he already has. I think the Hecklers will eventually win the battle. Although i wouldn't like to see the coach go i would like to see no more hecklers and at least they put their money where there mouth is and step up to be coach.
