Pg. 83
1. In my book right now Hassan was just brutally attacked by Assef and his two friends. Amir just won the kite flying competition. Amir feels very guilty because he witnessed the attack and he did nothing to stop it.
2. So far I really like the book. I like how it is not always happy and how everything doesn't turn out good. Like when Amir wins the kite flying competition and everything looks good, but then Hassan goes to get the last kite that fell out of the air but he is beaten up. That is a perfect example of how things doesn't always end up being good.
3. The theme that I have noticed most is friendship. Hassan is a very good friend to Amir, but Amir doesn't really consider Hassan as a friend. He considers him more like his servant that he hangs out with. You see this when Assef is bullying Hassan and Amir never steps in to stop him, but friends would stick up for each other.
4. My favorite character is Hassan. I like him because he is very nice and willing to learn. You see this when he wants Amir to read stories to him because he can't actually read. I also like how he is very obedient and he doesn't fight back if someone is picking on him.
5. My least favorite character is Baba. I dislike him because all he wants is for Amir to live up to his standards. I also don't like how he is disappointed in Amir, just because he isn't athletic. I think that he is a bad parent because when Amir writes a really good book he doesn't even care.
6. Next I think that Hassan and Amir are going to grow apart and that they won't be friends anymore. I also think that Baba will except that Amir isn't going to be an athlete and he will support Amir in becoming a writer.
