Just Right

Pg.366

1. Right now, what is happening in my book is that the main character Bella Swan is going to watch her boyfriend, Edward Cullen and his family play baseball. However, the Cullens are not all that they seem. They are vampires, who cannot go out in the sun where they can be seen, drink blood, and live forever. What sets them apart from all other vampires is that the Cullens do not drink human blood, only animals. Edward tries not to hurt Bella, but her blood is especially potent for him. Will Bella leave Edward, at the cost of her true love? Or will she stay with him at the cost of her possible demise? Soon, she will have to decide.

2. So far in this book, I feel that it is fantastic. I have read this book before, as well as the rest of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, and I have always enjoyed the subtle, ironic sense of humor displayed throughout the book. I also enjoy the way the character Edward Cullen talks. He was born in 1901, and uses the words and phrases customary to that time period. He also uses several large words, such as ‘unequivocally’ and these make the reading more challenging and enjoyable.

3. So far in this book, I have noticed the theme of bravery. Bravery comes up as a main theme in many places, such as when Bella figured out that Edward was a vampire. Most people would have been scared silly by this fact, but Bella took it calmly, and coolly. Also, the way that Edward spends so much time alone with Bella, when it is so difficult for him to resist her blood. Most people would not consider this act one of bravery, but Edward loves Bella so much that he would not be able to stand it if he hurt her, and by spending time with her he constantly lives in fear that he will lose control, and hurt Bella. These apperances of bravery in the book Twilight show that bravery is not the absence of fear, but conquering the fear you have.

4. My favorite character in the book Twilight is Edward. He is difficult to figure out, and will always surprise you by laughing when you expect him to be angry,or vice- versa. This is evident so much that at one point in the book, Bella accuses Edward of being bi-polar. Also, I enjoy his ironic sense of humor. He is always cracking sly jokes that prove to have a later, more signifigant meaning. Overall, Edward Cullen is my very favorite character.

5. My least favorite character is Rosalie Cullen, Edward’s very beautiful and confident sister. Right from the start, Rosalie takes an extreme disliking to Bella, for reasons that she refuses to tell Bella. Rosalie is cold, and hard towards Bella, and always avoids her. She is my least favorite character in the whole book. (So far!)

6. I predict that Rosalie will soon either explain why she hates Bella so much, or stop hating her.
