1.Right now in my book Shazad Hamandi is going to a school in America and he saw Tyler Ping. Also Omar0234 and Vapor Strike were talking about the red vinegar and I think they are the reason Cora’s mom died and they are trying to kill Cora.

2.I feel the book has been good so far. It is starting to get confusing so I have to read a lot slower and I think it is good so far but the ending will determine the rating I give the book.

3.The theme in this book so far is fear of death because in parts Cora thinks she might die to and all of her friends around her are getting sick.

4.My favorite character is Tyler Ping because he is really funny and cool. Another reason is that his name is the same as mine which is kind of cool reading a book about someone that has the same name as you.

5.My least favorite character is Omar0234 because he is taking orders from Vapor strike and killing people.

6.I think that Vapor Strike and Omar0234 might get caught or someone close to Tyler might die.

1. Right now in my book the author just finished talking about Spring Training for the Red Sox in 2004
Stephen King said that everyone knew the Sox would be a big threat for world champs that year.

2. So far this book is a great book. I have not read that much but i can already tell it is going to be a great book. Also the book is all about the Red Sox winning the World Series which is always a fun topic to talk/read about.

3. The dominant theme in this book so far is resilience. That is the main theme in this book for many reasons. That is becuase the Sox after 86 years were still fighting to win a World Series. Also the Red Sox fought so hard in 2004 to win the championship.

4. My favorite charecter in this book so far is Jason Varitek. That is because he is my favorite player on the Sox. He is my favorite player because he is probably the best defensive catcher in the league, and I play cathcer so i always like people who catch more then any other position

5. So far my least favorite player is Johny Damon. Damon is my leastt favorite player because after the 2004 season he was a free agent and signed with the Yankees. The Red Sox offered him a deal but he took the Yankees offer because there was more money involved.

6. I have a lot of predictions for whats about to come. I think the author Stephen King will talk about what it took for the Sox to become World Champions in the 2004 season. I think it took a lot of heart and fight because that is mostly what makes up baseball.

(Spolier)

1. Right now, I finished the book and the person who was selling arms illegally was caught. James, the main character's job was to try to get information on "Jane Oxford". To do this, they put him in a juvenile jail with the son of Jane Oxford (Name: Curtis Oxford). The plan was that James helps him escape, and James then gets info about Jane Oxford.

2. I feel that it was good, but not as good as The Dealer, by the same author. I thought this book took much longer to get to the mission, and much less time during the mission. While the previous book's mission lasted at least a month or two, this mission lasted 1 week.

3. The dominant theme is to watch out for yourself. I see this theme in many places as a reader. For example, I see this theme when James is in the juvenile prison, he is abused by the older kids, and one of them is mad at him and pulls a sharpened object to try to stab/kill James. James avoids it, but he is still abused by this older and larger person.

4. My favorite character, even though she wasn't seen very much was Jane Oxford because un-easily caught and cunning. She is also my favorite character because she was smart in how she evaded the police for years and years.

5. My least favorite character was Jane Oxford's son, Curtis Oxford because he threatened to kill himself at least 3 times, which was very annoying. He was doing this when they were trying to escape from the prison, and it really wasn't helpful.

6. Well, since I finished the book I can't predict anything. I would rate it a 8 out of 10, and recommend it to anyone who likes the CHERUB series, or the Alex Rider series (even CHERUB is better).

BODY:

1. Right now in my book Hugo Cabret the main character. Just got caught stealing toys from a toy booth. It isn’t the first time he has stolen from the booth. The old man at the booth who caught Hugo stealing is keeping his journal that has drawing and diagrams of Hugo’s inventions. Hugo followed the man home to get his book back. But then someone came out of the house….

2. I fell this book is really good to follow because it has writing and pictures. When you are looking at the pictures you can really tell were the Author wants you to be looking. because the way the pictures are set up from how they go to close up of the setting then father away then a close up on the activity going on in the story .

3. The theme I notice right now in the story is creativity. It tells and shows in the pictures how Hugo is creative. Also because the title is The Invention of Hugo Carbet (title in italics) gives a hint that there is some creativity.

4. Right now my favorite character is Hugo. Mainly because, so far in the book the Author is really only has been talking about Hugo and the toy booth owner. But I like Hugo because the way he has sneaks around so much and hasn’t been caught until now and how he knows how to fixes all the clocks.

5. My least favorite character right now is the toy booth owner. Because he took Hugo’s book of his drawings and told Hugo he is going to go home and burn it.

6. The prediction I have for next time I read is Hugo gets the book and then never steals from the toy booth owner again.

1. Right now in my book, Blair is feeling like nothing else could go wrong. First, Blair’s boyfriend Nate cheated on her with Blair’s best friend Serena, but Blair didn't know. Then Serena moved away but came back the next year. Blair wasn’t too happy about her coming back cecause she had gotten used to being the center of attention, instead of Serena. Then Nate told Blair about him and Serena, so they "took a break".They got back together but now Nate isn’t really into Blair as much since Serena is back. Blair’s Parents got a divorce and her father became gay, and her mother has just announced that she is marrying a man that Blair doesn’t like. Just now, Blair shoplifted from Barneys because her credit card got denied while she was buying a pair of pj pants for Nate as a present to remind him that he loved her. Serena saw this happening but Blair doesn’t know, accept that she saw Serena coming out of the store so she is wondering if Serena saw her.
2. I like this book right now; it is the second one of the series that I’ve read. It isn’t that philosophical but it’s sort of like reading a fashion or gossip magazine. I enjoy reading this book, which I think is what reading is all about, reading a book that you like and want to read. I will probably continue to read this series; I might even try the television series which I hear is a little different.
3. A dominant theme in this book so far is friendship. I’ve noticed this almost everywhere in the book; Between Blair and Nate, Blair and Serena, Blair and her other friends, Serena and her other friends. The whole book is really based around the friendships of all the characters; in the good times and bad times.
4. My favorite character is Blair. She is the main character and she has two different sides to her. The first side is the jealous, mean, rich, bratty, stuck-up, self-conscious popular girl. The other is the sweet, kind, loving, caring girl. She mostly acts like a normal rich popular girl would, but then she shows the other side around Nate. You can see that she really loves him and cares for him. She can do mean things, like completely ignoring Serena when she first saw her since she went away, and she can do sweet things, like sewing a tiny gold heart into the inside of a sweater she gave him.
5. My least favorite character is Vanessa. Vanessa has a shaved head and always wears black. She has a crush on a guy that has a crush on Serena. She makes films and is the complete opposite of all of the girls in the school that they go to. Vanessa is always so drab and boring and I hate when the book starts to talk about her. I wish she was brought out of the picture but I’m imagining that she will have some importance later in the book or series.
6. I predict that some things will continue to get worse, and some will get better. I think that Blair’s family will lose money and she will have to deal with not being able to just throw money at things. Maybe she will realize that her mom’s fiancé is not so bad, and she will ease up on him. I don’t think that she and Serena will be friends in this book, but maybe the next. I think that Nate will realize that he does love Blair after she gives him the pj pants, but then if he finds out that she stole them, he will be mad. I don’t think that Serena is going to tell people that Blair stole the pants; she doesn’t seem like that kind of a person.

1. The main character, Pete just came home from a rough night. He went out to a carnival to say the last goodbyes to his friends: Nicole and Eric, w ho are twins, because they are moving to Paris. He also met up with his old time friend, Pauly, and his long-time best friend, Raymond. At the carnival Nicole got really mad at him because he wouldn’t be her boyfriend. She left him and went to go hang out with her other girlfriends. Pete had to go to the bathroom, so when he met up with Raymond again, they went looking for one. Pete realized there was one over on the other side of the carnival, but Raymond was already going into a hypnotist tent, so Pete followed him. The hypnotist put three cards down and told Raymond that they were unlucky cards. She said that it was possible that someone might die. After Raymond left, she called Pete over and told him to watch Raymond and take him home. While Pete was in the bathroom, he thought Raymond was waiting for him outside, but when he got outside he was gone. He spent most of the night looking for him but then finally went home. In the morning he went over to Raymond’s house because something didn’t feel right. Raymond wasn’t there like he always was; all Pete could find was his rabbit, but the rabbit was dead. Its head was cut off and hanging on the fence and all the other blood and body parts were lying around in his garden. Pete then, ran home as fast as he could, to learn from his dad who is a police officer that the last person seen talking to Raymond has also disappeared. So Pete’s dad goes looking for them both.
2. In the beginning the book had a really slow beginning which was really boring. It almost made me wants to quit the book and start another one. So when I got further into the book it started picking up and it got really interesting and made me not want to stop reading
3. The theme of this book so far is people missing because both Stella Ross and Raymond are missing and no one knows where they are.
4. My favorite character is probably Pete because he likes to keep to himself. He also cares more about friendship then what people think of him because Raymond is a really weird kid, and he likes him anyways because of who he is, not what he looks like and the way he acts around people. Pete just influences his other friends to be nice and more considerate.
5. My least favorite character in the book is Pauly because he is really mean. He also used to b e best friends with Pete, Nicole, Raymond, and Eric, but then switched to people that does drugs and does bad things. He makes really bad decisions so that makes me not like him. He also makes fun of Raymond a lot, which gets me annoyed.
6. I think that Stella Ross will turn up to be dead because of what the fortune teller said and that Raymond will be saved and he will know everything that happened but he wouldn’t be apart of any of it.

1) At the moment in my book Mary is taking a vacation with Armand and Marie in the Western Hills of China because Richard is away for work. Armand and Marie are about to move to Washington D.C. and they are pretty much her only friends. Marie is feeling angry at herself for deciding to come to China to marry Richard because she does not like him very much (he does not seem to like her much either) and she is feeling homesick. To top all of her worries she recently gave birth to a girl (which disappointed Richard) named Jane.

2) I like this book. It is a bit slow and so not as interesting as it could be. There have not been many exciting parts that have really caught my attention. I have a feeling, however that it will soon become much better. I think this because of the cover and the summary at the back of the book.

3) I think that the theme of this book is ‘getting accustomed to changes’. I have seen this theme since the very beginning of the book when Marie describes it as ,very hot and in general very different from Scotland’ during her voyage. Also it shows how she is trying to make new friends and how careful she has to be in a new place.

4) My favorite character is Marie because she tells people what her opinion is. I find this characteristic especially likable because most women in the early 1900’s did not dare say what they thought- including Mary. I also like her because she is very nice to Mary and helps her adjust to her home in China.

5) My least favorite character is Richard. I do not like him because he is making Mary’s life miserable. Even if he did not love her, he could at least try to make her happy and make the house a more comfortable place to live in.

6) I think that Mary is going to be so bored of her life in the ‘House of the Dragon Screen’ that she will have an affair with a Japanese man named Kentaro. I think this because the cover has a picture of her with an Asian baby on her back and the summary on the back says that she has a “adulterous affair with a young Japanese nobleman”. Also, there is a segment on the back cover about a movie made about this book and it says that so and so is playing Kentaro, so I guessed that since I have not met a man named Kentaro yet he is the man she has an affair with.

1. In my book right now, Henry has been saved from a fall, and taken to Ron and Nella’s home. Ron and Nella are kind people who saved Henry after his fall. He had fallen from around 80 feet, while escaping from Darius, a crazed villain. In the meantime, Henrietta, Henry’s cousin has finally found Eli, the man she was looking for. She needed to find Eli because she thinks he might know how to get her back through the cupboards, to Kansas. At home, things aren’t right either. Aunt Dotty, Frank, Penelope, Anastasia, Zeke, and Sergeant Simmons have just traveled into one of the cupboards in order to search for the missing children.
2. I find this book really confusing, but it helps that I read the one that comes before it, (100 Cupboards (ITALICIZED)). I am enjoying this book but I have often had to go back and re-read sections I might have missed the meaning or importance of. Other than that, I think this is a very interesting read.
3. I think the dominant theme in this book is never give up. I think this because both Henry and Henrietta, are getting extremely frustrated being trapped in other worlds. Both though, have found ways to keep trying for what they want. Henrietta, while wishing she could die, came up with a thought. The queen had mentioned that her brother, Eli, was living in abandoned houses by a river, (the queen’s brother). And Henrietta was on a riverbank! With a sudden adrenaline rush, she began to walk along the bank of the river, and with luck on her side, she found Eli. Henry was about to give up while teetering on a ledge high above the streets of Fitzfaren, when he decided he wasn’t going to stop trying. He then fell 80 feet, but was saved by people who knew more about him than he did. In both cases, the children didn’t give up.
4. My favorite character is the raggart. This is a mythical creature created for this particular story, and is best described as a teeny rhino with wings. I like it the best because it seems to come in handy when needed the most and it leads the way, as raggarts are used for finding things. Henry and Henrietta are in desperate need of being found and brought to safety.
5. My least favorite character is Henrietta because she listens in on conversations and gets herself in a fix because of it. She is stuck in Ftzfaren because she had been eavesdropping on Henry and Richards conversation about going through the cupboards. They were going to go there because they needed to find Eli to solve a problem created by Henry’s grandfather. Henrietta got jealous, and followed them ending with herself getting kidnapped, and forcing her family to endanger themselves in order to save her.
6. I think that Henry and Frank will find the world where they were actually from in the end and everything will be returned to order. I think the problems with Henry’s grandfather, Fitzfaren and Endor will be resolved, and everyone will live happily ever after. Just like every other fantasy novel ending. I am not sure how Frank will return to his own world because he has a wife and three children to take care of and he won’t leave them no matter how much he wants to. Maybe they’ll come with him and Kansas will be left in peace and quiet without the disturbances of magic.

1. Right now in the book, the protagonist, Bean just got sent into space to go to Battle School. Bean had been living on the streets since he was 1 year old, yet he knew how to walk and talk. He learned how to read and speak other languages on the street by listening to others, and got food by begging. A nun finds him, and decides to teach him and take care of him. The nun's job is to find kids who seem suited to go to battle school. Bean passes all the tests, except the physical. He failed the physical test because he is very scrawny. He just gets shipped into space on a rocket ship and is now at Battle School.

2. I feel the book has been going great so far. The beginning was very detailed, but a little slow, yet it was entertaining. Because it was a little slow and very detailed, I had to read slowly to understand everything.

3. The theme in this book is survival because when Bean is on the streets, it is survival of the fittest. Because he knows that he is an easy target to others, he joins a group of other kids living on the street. When he is blasting off into space, he knows that he will have to survive battle school because all the other students are mad at him because he did the best on the exams.

4. My favorite character is Bean because he is small, young, and very smart. He taught himself everything he knows now and learns very quickly. He reminds me of Misha Pilsudskki from Milkweed because they both live on the streets and are very young, about 5 years old.

5. My least favorite character is "Achilles". He has a gimp leg, so they call him Achilles. When he gets into the group, he tells the leader to get a big kid to protect them on the streets. The leader chooses Achilles. When he joins, he gets them all the necessities they need. Then, he stabs them in the back and kills the leader who recruited him and blames it on another kid.

6. I think that Bean will meet Ender Wiggin at Battle school because this book is happening at the same time Ender's Game is happening.

1) So Jack is on St. Croix with his family and he is trying to write about the racial conflict on the island, when a customer of his makes him a mysterious offer, he has to sail to New York with a very suspicious friend of his customer(Rik). He will get payed ten thousand dollars in cash for the six week trip. He is visibly excited and accepted the offer and he now has to tell his family. The problem is that Jack's father already told him that he thinks Rik is a druggy, so he is obviously going to be reluctant to let his son take a six week trip with someone he barely knows.

2) I have really enjoyed this book so far, there are so many things that can go wrong in his life, that have. Like how when Jack and an old friend travel up to Tennessee Jack doesn't have a student ID so he can't get into the university, he waits 4 hours at a nearby motel and then decides he has been tricked. He heads back to Florida exhausted and with no place to go so decides to get a job with his dad on St. Croix, where a week later he gets a cal from that friend and tells him this complicated story how he wqas meeting friends and they were smoking marijuana and he started ot wander the campus looking for him when the guards picked him up and is a lot of trouble with his parents.

3)A theme I have noticed in this book is disapointment. People have been disappointed in him and he has been disapointed in himself. An example of this is when he comes back from St. Croix to finish his senior year of high school he lives with a family and he pays them rent. Both parents aren't doing so well in the money department, so they are glad to have him. But when he starts drinking and blaring his music in the middle of the night and vommiting on the carpet the family decides to kick him out and this is a tough decision because they really need the money and they like him as a person but the choices he makes makes them disappointed.

4)My favorite character is Jack. He comes from a less fortunate background and you just have to feel bad for him. There has been almost nothing going right for him. He gets into college, but he doesn't like the school. He finds a home to stay in, but he blows it.I just wish something would go right for him and I think that Jack thinks that this trip is going to be the answer to his prayers but I got a feeling it's going to be anything but that an I can't seeing it going well as much as I want it to .

5) My least favorite character in this book is Jack's dad. I think there is this sense of disapproval in whatever Jack is doing with his life. Like when I read it moght not necessarily say "and he sighed" but by the way he writes I can almost tell that there were some sighs in this conversation. I just can't imagine myself being succesful with that kind of talk.

6) A prediction I have about this book is that the sailing trip is not going to end well. Partly because of Ms. Duryea's bookalk and partly because nothing has gone right for him and he had a mugshot at the beginning of the book.

1. What is going on in your book right now?

Kate Malone’s life is chaos at the moment! She was just rejected from her dream college, MIT, and doesn’t know how to tell the people around her that she didn’t apply to any other colleges. In addition, Teri Litch, one of the bullies of Merryweather High (the same high school that Speak is based around), is sleeping in her room as her house burned down! She has to drive Teri and Mikey, Teri’s little brother, all over town to get them whatever they want. While Teri is helping the workers with the house plans, takes charge of Mikey her “own special project.” She is going to take care of him until the Litch’s house is reconstructed. At the moment, Kate is dropping Mikey off at pre-school and plotting ways to get into MIT.

2. How do you feel so far about this book?

I love this book! Between Speak and Catalyst, Laurie Halse Anderson knows how to capture high school life. This book focuses on college bound kids with too much on their plates! I believe this familiar situation is explained extremely well. While reading this book, I feel like I was in Kate’s shoes, being rejected from my dream school and formulating a plan to get my way. ☺

3. What is a theme in the book you have noticed so far?

A major theme I have noticed so far in this book is determination. Kate Malone demonstrates this theme on every single page of the book. She is determined to get into MIT. She will go as far as driving to MIT and demanding that they let her in. Honestly, I think that she may be too determined!

4. Who is your favorite character?

My favorite character is Kate Malone, the protagonist. I think it is great of her to set high goals for herself. Also, I admire that she is helping around the house with the Litchs and her brother, Toby. She typically will stay up until the early hours of the morning making sure everything is done! Although she may be obsessed with getting into MIT, she is a genuine, well-rounded character.

5. Who is your least favorite character?

My least favorite character is Teri Litch. The Malones are helping she and her brother out and the least she could do is say “Thank You”, which she doesn’t. Also, she has been stealing stuff from Kate, including a watch her mother gave her before she passed. I feel as though Teri is self-centered and thinks because her situation isn’t ideal at the moment that everyone should allow her to do whatever she wants.

6. What do you think is going to happen next?

I believe that she will get into MIT. Whether they sent her the wrong letter, or they change their mind, or some other odd scenario, I believe it will happen. I have this feeling due to the fact that everything has been negative for Kate so far. There needs to be a twist in the plot. I believe the book will wrap up with Kate’s graduation and packing to go to college, MIT that is!

Right now in my book Owen and Annabel are becoming really good friends. Owen does not think that Annabel is well educated in music. Owen decides to give Annabel a bunch of music for her to listen to see if she likes any of it because she always turns down different music then the hits one song. Whitney is better but she does not like the new therapy group she goes to because she think that they are making her do insane thinks like grow herbs.

I think this is a book with good meaning because it is teaching you not to tell lies. It is also saying that the truth is important because people might depend on you opinion to something. I also think it means don’t judge a book by its cover. I think it says that because Owen looks really mean but underneath he is really nice.

I think the theme in the book is friendship because event thought Owen and Annabel are so different they get along great. Also because Annabel has no friends and Owen is helping her get through a tough time in her life.

My favorite character in the book is Owen. Owen is my favorite character because he has the answer to everything and is open to people’s opinion and he does not get offended. Also he knows that rumors are going around about home but he does not care and he just takes the truth as it is.

My least favorite character is Sophie because she ruined Annabel’s life and she wont listen to the truth about what happened. Even thought the book never fully explains what happens I think that Sophie just assumed what happened and is now making Annabel’s life miserable which is really mean.

I think that Sophie might go on the radio show with Owen and she will start to be more confident about herself. She might also confess to her mom about not liking modeling and see that she might have hurt her mom but she did the right thing and it wasn’t that bad after all.

1. The main character named Jenna Fox woke up from a year long coma. She had lost her memory in the coma and doesn't know anything about her life. Her parents moved into a quiet cottage so she can recover in peace. It is her 16th day of being awake from her coma and she has only seen her mom, grandmother (Lily) and father. In my book her mother leaves for the first time since she woke up to go to work, Jenna sneaks out to see the neighbor who she can see across her land. This is her first time being past her front steps because her mom is afraid she will get lost. Jenna is 17 years old and is meeting Mr. Bender (her neighbor) he showed her what his work is which is creating art out of parts of nature such as a snake out of pine cones. Being outside Jenna remembers more because of this experience. Jenna remembers more and more everyday.

2. I really like the book so far. It is going into good detail about her life and really explaining what her life is like so far and is getting into what it was like before.

3. I have noticed the theme friendship. I noticed this because she asked her self if she had any friends before her coma. She has not received any letters or gifts or gift-baskets so she is getting worried if anyone remembers the old Jenna Fox that she used to be. Then she meats Mr. Bender, and after her experience with him she gets happy because she made her first friend.

4.Mr. Bender is my favorite character right now. Even though he hasn't been in the story much yet I really like his personality. He is so kind because he shows her the outdoors and lets her try to hold birds on her hand. He also shows her his work and explains the meaning of why he does it. I think this is really kind. He also told her to be very careful around the neighbor hood because you never know what mentally corrupt people live around. I also like how he didn't try to make her mad at all even though he didn't know what kind of mental situation she was in.

5. My least favorite character is Lily Jenna's grandmother. I don't like her because she lets Jenna call her Lily even though she didn't before the accident. I don't think Lily should let her do this because Jenna shouldn't be treated any different then she was before the accident by people.

6. I think Jenna will get lost in her neighborhood and some people in her neighborhood will take advantage of her and she will end up getting lost and turning into a completely new person and will be stronger then before.

1.Right now in my book Bethany is waiting for the police to find a guy that stalking her looking for her father- but she doesn’t know exactly why. She recently found out that she was a clone of who would be her older sister (Elisabeth), but Elisabeth died about thirty years ago in a car crash. Bethany’s dad sent her and her aunt a package with a note and ten thousand dollars inside. The note told Bethany that her father is being chased by a man, and that Bethany’s parents aren’t planning on coming back to her aunt’s house- at least for a long time. Bethany’s mom just called her to say goodbye (her dad doesn’t know) because her mom thinks she will die just like Elisabeth did.

2. I like this book a lot especially right now because; I feel like I’m getting the answers to a lot of questions that Bethany has been asking throughout the whole book. I also feel like something really exciting is about to happen to finish off the book. It’s nice that Joss is staying to make sure Bethany is alright. I’m just surprised that more people didn’t recognize Bethany- looking like Elisabeth and all.

3. A specific theme I’ve noticed so far is loneliness, because even though Bethany has people all around her she is still really lonely because she doesn’t know if her parents will ever come back for her. She is also really confused about being a clone and she is questioning her parents. So in a way even though she is really lonely she doesn’t really want to see her parents face to face without knowing the truth and why they didn’t tell her any of it until now.

4. My favorite character is Bethany because even though she is really scared she is acting brave especially in her situation. I also like that she will never give up her search in finding out who she really is. I think it’s funny because just when she thought she knew exactly who she was she found out she was the exact opposite person- talk about life changing.

5. My least favorite character is Bethany’s dad because he has been lying to Bethany her whole life and he won’t even admit to it. I think he should have told Bethany what was going on in the first place- instead of having her find out on her own. This was really inconsiderate of her dad- not only did he leave Bethany with complete strangers he left her somewhere where she was easily found by the man looking for her dad so now Bethany is in possible danger.

6. I think that next the man that is looking for Bethany’s father will come and try to harm Bethany. I also think she will get into an accident like her mom predicted, but unlike her sister she will live through it. I also think that after the accident when she’s in the hospital the doctors will realize that she’s a clone. Maybe then Bethany will finally get some answers about herself. At the very end of the book I think that Bethany may move into Sanderfield with Myrlie and things will semi go back to normal.

1. Right now in the book Robert Langdon and Katherine are trying to get to the bottom of a very long story. Katherine is the daughter of Robert's old proffessor. He gets a call in the middle of the night and it says that it it his proffessors secretary. He says his proffessor needs help and he needs help. Robert travels to D.C. in the middle of the night for his olf friend. Little does he know that the secretary was actually a mad man who is trying to save the world from new sciences. He thinks the new research that is being done will change the way people look at the world.

2.I really like this book and i think it it one of the best i have ever read evne though I am not done with it yet. It is an amazing book that will not let you put the book down. It is fukll of suspence that will leave you hanging until the very end. Lastly it is such an interesting story line you will not want to put the book down.

3. One theme i have noticed is friendship. Robert and his proffessor have not talked in over 20 years. But when he gets a call that says he needs help, he travels half way acrosse the country in the middle of the night. He doesnt know that the place they will actually meet is a place that he will find his proffessors hand in the middle of the floor. This makes it his mission to find out who did this to him and hope he can find his proffessor before it is to late.

4. My favorite character is Katherine. She is the daughter of the proffessor and is just as worried about her dad as robert is. She thinks it might have something to do about her new research that could change the world. Even so, she lets Robert, a man she has never met before in her entire life, come into her life and shoe her what to do. She trusts him to help her find her dad and do it before he dies if he is not already dead. She also wants to help find and then kill whoever did this evil deed to her loving dad.

5. My least favorite character is mal'kah. He is the crazy, madman, who got Robert to come to D.C. by pretending to be a secretary for the proffessor. He also cuts of a hand and leaves it for his daughter and his old student so they will have to try and find him. They do not kniow that this is all part of his plan to get inside of her lab and to destroy her research so the world can stay the same as it has been for thousands of years. But, what he doesnt know is Robert has done this twice before. He is very expereiced and is a harvard teacher on symbology.

6. I predict the madman will keep leaving them clues. He will lead them on a goose hunt around D.c looking for the proffessor. maybe when they let there guard down he will try and ambush them while they are off guard. He must really have something bad to do if he is willing to cut an alive man's hand off and leave it in the middle of a museam. Lastly, i think the rest of the story will be very interesting and full of suspence.

Name: Griffin Howes
Book: MONSTER
Author: Walter Dean Myers
Genre: Fiction

1. The book that I am reading is called MONSTER by Walter Dean Myers. I have read other books by this author which were really good. The book I also read by Myers is Fallen Angels. This book is about men who are sent to Vietnam to fight the last bit of the Vietnam War. Enough about that book lets talk about Monster. I just reading this book and it is really good. It is about a boy who going to rob a convenient store with his so called “friends but when the convenient store owner pulls out a gun, Steve Harmon’s buddy (Steve is the narrator and the main person in the story) James King fights the 50 year old man for the gun. Accidentally the man blew his brains everywhere! Then boys ran away. But it wasn’t long before they got caught and were sent to Manhattan Correctional Prison. In the prison Steve decides to keep a journal of his life in prison that he makes kind of like a movie script. Now Steve and James are in there trial one committed the murder and one didn’t! I’m not sure whose innocent who isn’t but I have a feeling who did.
2. To tell you the truth I really like the book. I haven’t read that much of it because I just started but it’s been really exiting but also kind of sad. It’s been exiting because he is in court and there arguing back and forth about the case. It is also sad because he cry’s every night; and he is in jail for a murder he did not do.
3. The theme of the book is in the jail cell and it is also in the court room. Both places I feel really sad in surprised when something exiting I didn’t see coming happens.
4. My favorite character is probably Steve because he is only 16 and he’s really brave considering the situation he is in.
5. My least favorite character is James king. I don’t like him because he is a bad influence on Steve and made him get in huge trouble.
6. The next thing in the book I think will happen is Steve will go back to the prison and something bad will happen.

1. Right now in my book Bella and Edward are in love and Edward proposed to Bella, and Bella said yes. So they are now getting married, but Bella had to tell her dad that she was. Bella’s dad Charlie wasn’t very happy about this because he doesn’t like Edward very much. But he finally agreed with it. Alice is getting everything ready for the wedding like getting Bella’s wedding dress. Also Bella is going to be turned into a vampire soon, but Edward still doesn’t really want her too.

2. So far I enjoy this book because I have been reading the series, so I am really into it. I think that it is exciting and it keeps my attention because there is always something going on. It feels like now that I am on the last book of the series I know the characters so well that I can connect with them and understand their personalities better.

3. The theme of this book is romance or difficult relationships because Bella and Edward are in love and getting married so they are showing romance there. Also Charlie is making it difficult for Bella and Edward to be together, but he did finally agree to let them get married.

4. My favorite character is Alice because she is always happy and full of energy. Also she is different from all the other vampires and I think that she has the best power which is seeing the future. Even when there is something bad happening she looks on the bright side and she is very small but she is one of the best at fighting other vampires.

5. My least favorite character is Jacob because he was in love with Bella but she wasn’t in love with him. Bella chose Edward over Jacob and now Jacob is mad at her. It is a little annoying because they were such good friends but Jacob doesn’t want to see her anymore and he ruined his friendship with Bella.

6. My prediction of what is going to happen next is that Bella and Edward are going to have their wedding and it is going to go well. Then I think she is going to say goodbye to Charlie, her friends, and her mom and go off with Edward to be turned into a vampire. I think that Bella might want to try to hurt Charlie when she’s a vampire, or something will go wrong.

1. Since the beginning of the book, there has been nonstop action and suspense. Right now, agent six has been successful in his first mission successful in his second and now onto his hardest mission, to take over The Lab Company. They are planning to build bots, so powerful and so many, that they'll be able to take over the world. These bots are highly trained and armed. Six's second mission earned him the biggest bonus he has ever earned, and the most bonus any agent has every earned, due to his stressfulness on his mission. This mission three, will be the hardest mission Six has ever had to do.

2. It seems as if this book has absolutely no flaws. Ever since the beginning of the book there has always been action. This book has always had my full attention. This could be one of the best books I have ever read. I like the idea how Six is going undercover and has to act like one of the people who work at The Lab. This is the kind of book I don't have a problem leaving. Some books, that are even a little slow, can throw me off because if I'm not intrigued, I might give up on it.

3. So far, the theme of this book has been suspense. Even though there has been nonstop action, it every mission leads you up to the climax where Six saves all the hostages or where he gets shot or captured. It's as if, the book's glued to your hand until the climax occurs. Suspense plays a huge roll in this book. Even if there was action, and no suspense the book, wouldn't even be half as good!

4. Overall, my favorite character would by far be agent Six. He is by far my favorite character because he reminds me of my dad. He tries 110% in every single thing he does, and usually gets the job done. Something else my dad and agent Six share in common is how humble they are. Even though they both do a great job on everything, they don't think highly of themselves and brag about what they do write. They think about what they can do better next time!

5. Currently, my least favorite character is Jack. Although I do not "hate" him, he can be extremely annoying. And although he's annoying, I think that's what Jack Heath wanted the reader to think. The reason he is annoying is because whenever agent Six walks into the room to get his new mission, Jack keeps talking about how he always wanted to be undercover like agent Six is. Even though Six tells him he needs to get on with his mission, Jack still talks and talks and talk.

6. I can predict several things that will happen next, but there is one main prediction I've thought of. I predict that agent Six will get extremely far in his mission. Then, right before he will escape he will get caught by a Lab agent. Due to the fact that agent Six has gotten into no trouble this entire book, he's due to get in trouble sometime, and this is the right time.

In my book Caitlin met her boyfriend, Rogerson have begun going out. Caitlin is using Rogerson as a distraction in her life, because of her sister. Her sister Cass has just ran away from home, and Caitlin was having a hard time dealing with it. Now that Caitlin and Rogerson are growing deeper and deeper into their love everyday, Caitlin’s mother is starting to worry about her, even though Caitlin feels there is nothing to worry about. Although Rogerson has gotten himself into some major trouble in the past years, that doesn’t stop Caitlin from falling for him.

So far this book is really really good. I enjoy it a lot. I like that there is always something going on, and if Caitlin isn’t focusing on her love life, she is focusing on her lost sister.

I think that abuse is a theme in Dreamland. There is a lot of physical and mental abuse going through lots of the characters in the book. There is direct physical contact through Caitlin and her parents. Also emotional through Caitlin’s sister running away in the beginning of the book.

My favorite character in the book is Caitlin. There is something about her that i want to know more about. I like how she puts her pain, and how she describes her love for Rogerson. Even though she does not deal with her feeling the proper way, i still enjoy reading about her, and wish she wasn’t a fictional character!

My least favorite character is Rogerson. I feel like he sometimes takes advantage of Caitlin just because he knows he can. That really gets to me. Just because Caitlin has gone though so much, she isn’t always standing tall, and even though he means well, he doesn’t always show it.

6. I think that Caitlin will begin to express her feelings more to Rogerson and start falling for him harder. But mainly because he is such a big distraction from her sister running away, that it almost makes her feel better about herself as a person. I’m just scared that she will regret becoming so close to Rogerson because of his actions.

1. In my book right now, there is a main character named Judi Leibowitz, who is overweight. She keeps a diary with her two secrets, which are to be much thinner, and to be the future Mrs. Weiss, which is the last name of Judi‘s crush. Her teacher assigns Judi’s class to keep a journal, and express there thoughts and dreams inside of it. Judi writes how she wishes to be thin, so she starves herself thinking that it’s going to work. That doesn’t work out that well for her. Judi goes and finds the thinnest girl in the whole school, and asks her for tips. I don’t know if the tips are true or not yet, so I will have to find out.

2. So far in the book, I am not finding it that interesting. This book isn’t really the type of book for me to read, but I will read a couple more pages and continue if I like it, or change it if I still don’t. I think the book is very dull, and nothing exciting happens in it so far.

3. I have noticed friendship. This friendship theme doesn’t go on for a long time, because Judi’s best friend Monica begins to date Judi’s crush Richard Weiss, and so they are no longer talking. Since Judi is mad at Monica, Judi goes and finds someone to hang out with, and she picked Nancy Pratt the thinnest girl in the school, who gives her tips.

4.My favorite character is Judi, the main character even though she does lots of bad things. Even though she is overweight, she shouldn’t care about her weight at the age of 13. Judi is thirteen years old, and she is in high school. Judi tries to get lots of tips, and help from other people, but everyone is being mean to her, that they are giving her things to stay and get more overweight. Since Judi doesn’t realize this, I think Judi is going to gain more weight.

5.My least favorite character so far is Monica, Judi’s best friend. I don’t like Monica very much, because Monica knows that Judi is having a hard time with keeping her weight balance, and Monica already knows that. Monica goes and dates Judi’s crush, which isn’t very nice, and she breaks Judi’s feelings.

6. I am not very far into the book, but I think Monica and Judi are going to become friends again. I think Judi is going to lose weight, and get her crush back. Also, Judi will stop getting bullied around. That is what I think is going to happen in the book next.

The Hunt for Red October
Tom Clancy

p. 105
1. I only started this book this week, so I'm actually not very far into it. The main character, Jack Ryan, employed by the CIA, has just given a briefing session in Washington D.C. to a select number of political officers, including the president. The meeting was held to discuss a newly discovered Soviet submarine, called Red October, for which the book is named. The submarine incorporates new technologies which the US Intelligence has not seen. They discussed differences from other Soviet submarines in Red October, and they speculated about why they were there. The pictures on which Ryan was basing his briefing were actually taken by British intelligence, not US. The book flips from perspectives; the first 30 pages were told from the point of a Soviet officer, named Ramius, on the Red October. Some of the Soviet conversation is difficult to follow, because they use many specific places in Russia which are in Russian, and are hard to follow. 2. The book is very interesting and engrossing. You feel into the story right when you start reading. There are some confusing parts- switching perspectives mid chapter, and lots of Russian words. I haven't been able to find a specific year in which it takes place, but it was written about 25 years ago, so it should be before then. It's different also in that what is now Russia, is then called Soviet Union, because they hadn't broken up yet. One thing I haven't liked yet is that Clancy hasn't developed the characters very well, specifically Jack Ryan. He gave a background of a Soviet operative for a few pages, but has neglected to do something like that for Jack. I like Jack as a character, but I'd prefer to know more about him. 3. A theme in this book is family. Even though it's not the front-running thing in the novel, you can tell the author purposely put it in. Jack's family is mentioned, and, even though this book really has nothing to do with an everyday family type scenario, and it's more a military novel, you can see the author wants to stress the importance of family. Jack cares about his wife and daughter, and he wants only the best things for them. Co-workers have asked about Jack's family, showing that they know each other, and respect and like each other's families well. The author also tells a very interesting story about how Ramius came to be in his position, and how he went through academies, married, and eventually lost her life due to a neglection of a drunk doctor. 4. Even though I don't know a lot about him, Jack Ryan is still my favorite character. The book talks about how he came from money, and he married money, but he doesn't act snobby or mean because he has money. He has a daughter, named Sally, who asked him if Santa would know where they were because they had moved. He told her yes, which was a good thing to do. His personality is both welcoming and business-like, so he acts differently when in the CIA buildings. He seems professional and cares about his job, but he still keeps his family in mind, which I think would be important. 5. I can't really say I have a least-favorite character, because they haven't been very in-depth with their descriptions. If I had to pick one, it would be the Soviet operator, Ramius. He's a character that you like and hate at the same time, because you know he's going to try to do something against the US, but you feel bad for his background and loss of family. Ramius is a good person, but you can tell he cares so much about his job, and not as much about the people he's working with. He doesn't treat younger officers well, or give them almost any leniency about their shorter experience in training. 6. I predict that the USS Dallas, an American submarine will end up in a confrontation trying to capture the Red October, and Jack Ryan will somehow end up in the battle. I'm also guessing the Red October is going to try to go west, around the Scandinavian peninsula and past American forces.

Pendragon: The Soldiers of Halla
D.J. MacHale
Fantasy/Adventure/Action Fiction
Holiday
Pg. 283

1. Right now in Pendragon, Bobby, Mark and Elli are on Third Earth. Bobby just brought Elli, the Traveler from Quillian, to Third Earth because he wants her to talk to her daughter, Nevva, who has sided with Saint Dane. Bobby wants Elli to talk to Nevva to see if she will see light on the Traveler’s side, and help them defeat Saint Dane. They are going down to their last resorts because Saint Dane has already finished the Convergence, but Third Earth is still hanging on by a hair, so the Travelers are trying to use this to turn the tables and win Halla.
2. So far the book has been very interesting so far, there has been a lot of action already, even though the plot has not developed that much. But it is going to soon, I can tell, and I am very excited for that to happen. I also like how MacHale is bringing in characters that were out on the side lines in the previous books, like Elli. I feel that she is going to be very important to the story, even if she doesn’t bring Nevva onto the Traveler’s side. And because it is the final book, it is just naturally exciting, especially after waiting so long for an answer.
3. A theme that has been dominant in the book so far would have to be hope. This is what the characters have been feeling the entire book. From Uncle Press’ speech at the beginning, to the reason why Mark, Bobby and Elli are trying to get Nevva to spin 180 degrees. Every decision made in this book has been about the hope of being able to restore Halla to its former and proper self.
4. My favorite character would have to be Elli. She is and old woman, but she is very strong emotionally and very brave. First off, she was helping wounded Batu in Mooraj, who had no hope whatsoever, and was not only healing them, but comforting them too. Then she left so that she could go talk to Nevva, who she had abandoned as a child. I like people who are strong and able to make choices for themselves, whether they are good or bad. Because they are the strongest, and are the ones with the most self respect.
5. My least favorite character right now is Saint Dane. He is making it so hard for anybody in Halla to survive, except for those in the Ravinian “fortresses”, and even they are driven by greed. I do not like his idea of creating his own Halla by destroying the one the currently exists. He is just pure evil; despite what Bobby said (he said there was no pure evil). And not only is Saint Dane evil, he is also greedy, self-centered, and ruthless, all at the same time.
6. My prediction about what is going to happen next is that Elli will be able to talk to Nevva, but Nevva will probably refuse to join on their side. And then they are going to be captured by Saint Dane, but will escape out of whatever he locks them in. Bobby, Mark and Elli will then be able to find the exiles that are hiding on Third Earth and will tell Press about them. Press and all the other Travelers will come and the final battle for Halla will begin.

1.) What is happening in my book right now is that Massie Block is trying to get this boy to ask her out. The boy, whose name is Dempsey, lives right next to Kristen Gregory. The only thing wrong with that is that Kristin promised her secret friend Layne that she would help her get the same boy Massie is after, but at the time Massie did not like him. In the beginning Dempsey tried out for the play with Layne, like I did, and got in the play like I did. However, he decided to drop out when he made the soccer team. He told Layne that he would do the next play with her. Massie is the one who suggested that Dempsey try out for the soccer team so he did. Dempsey happened to get on the team. Massie wants to win him so badly that she has created a cheerleading team. They went over to Kristen’s house (so Massie could see Dempsey) and while they were there Dempsey came in and Kristin noticed how he liked Layne, but at the same time how he liked Massie. Kristin is in an awkward position to help all of her friends.

2.) So far in this book there are so two couples: Claire and Cam, and Kristin and Dune. The two couples are so cute!!!!! I feel bad for Kristin because she is in a very difficult position where she has to choose which friend to help, Layne or Massie. I could never be as brave as Kristin to risk her friendship. I really don’t understand how she does it.

3.) A Major theme in this book is love. According to Massie this is the beginning to a boy fest because they just had a boy fast. In the previous books they were not allowed to date boys. So far in this book everyone except Massie, Alicia and Dylan have boyfriends. The theme love is making the book a race, by making Layne and Massie race to see who can win Dempsey over. It is really annoying because Massie puts people down when she wants something. That is how she always gets her way. Not this time though. Layne is fighting her way through.

4.) My favorite character is Claire because she is such a great girlfriend. She is so close to Cam, he drives her to school; she goes and supports him at his soccer games. She is also smart because she is staying out of all of the boy drama since she already has a boyfriend.

5.) My least favorite character is Massie because she is such a witch telling people what to do. She is also mean because she is trying to win Dempsey over and putting Layne down. She could be so much nicer then she is. I also hate how everyone needs to give up their stuff for her, and if they ask her to do something for them she will refuse and say do it yourself.

6.) I think what will happen next is that Dune will break up with Kristin when he gets back. I think that while he was away he found a new girlfriend. I know that sounds mean that he would do that but people do do that in real life, even though it’s sad. Then Dempsey will ask Kristin out. Right now to me it seems like Dempsey likes her because he keeps flirting with her. Once he asks her out Layne and Massie will despise her. I also think that in the next book Kristin will slowly try to get back into the Pretty committee.

1. Right now in the book Dom Cristao (head of catholic school) was just called to meet with the Bishop. There is some tension between the two of them but they have to have this conversation. Those two and then the Dr. are talking about the health of Ender. The Bishop is concerned that Ender will loose his catholic license because he hasn’t been cooperating lately. On the other hand Cristao says they should have cooperated with Ender so they wouldn’t be having this problem right now.
2. This is a pretty good book. I am liking Ender’s Game a little better right now because of the interesting story line but that might change. I liked how there was very good character introductions and development in that book. But back to Speaker for the Dead, I am still liking this book because of all the little flashbacks Ender has I think they’re really cool. The book is interesting because of all the new technology they have in the future.
3. A theme in the book I have noticed is understanding. I say this because at the end of the first book Ender finds out the truth about the buggers. Ender doesn’t say anything like wow that’s dumb because in this book he goes from planet to planet explaining the true story of the buggers and how they weren’t such a violent situation. Ender also learns about one of his other enemies and he befriends him and he shows a lot of understanding to befriend one of his enemies.
4. My favorite character in this book is the same as in the first Ender. I like Ender because in this book it’s not about domination for him it’s about spreading the truth about a civilization. He is also very complainant and in most situations where people are misunderstanding him it’s not even his fault. Overall I think Ender is a well balanced character.
5. My least favorite character is The Bishop. I say this because especially in chapter 10 he is blaming Ender and Cristao for all of his mistakes and he is really being mean to Ender. The Bishop wasn’t nice to Ender and now he is saying that Ender wasn’t being nice to him, and he was giving The Bishop a lot of respect. The Bishop is just being arrogant and very mean and that’s why I don’t like him.
6. I think that Ender will loose his catholic license and then there will be a lot of conflicts in the church. After that when or if Ender keeps hopping planets I think some civilization that hated the buggers will hate Ender and then a war will start.

Right now in my book the main chracter, Alex Morales is searching for his missing parents after an asteroid hit the moon and moved it closer in orbit to the Earth and causing catastrophic climate changes. Tidal waves in New York have killed hundreds of people and swept the statue of liberty out to sea.

2. I feel that the book is a very compelling survival story form the start. The best aspect about the book is the fact that they never directly state that the moon has moved closer to the Earth although it is obvious.

3. The theme in the book so far is family because it shows that he cares very deeply that for his family. So deeply, in fact, that he searches for his missing parents anywhere he can think of.

4. My favorite character in the book so far is Alex because he is very cool and reserved but in tough situations he shows his true self.

5. My least favorite character is Julie, Alex's younger sister. I know that her story of growing up and relying on family is one of the most important themes and that she has a very matured personality at the end but in the beginning I can't bring my self to like her. I think that it is her very contradictory attitude.

6. I think that the children will not find their parents and will live with their grandmother for a period of time because it has mentioned her alot although we haven't seen her yet.

Rebel Angels

Just right
Pg. 441
1. Right now, the main character, Gemma, is in the realms (the place between life and death were spirits cross over. Only Gemma and others with magic can go there) and she is trying to find the temple. In the first book, A Great and Terrible Beauty, Gemma crushed the runes that bound the magic of the realms when she defeated one of the evil sorcerer’s (Circe’s) assassins. Now, anybody in the realms, good or evil, can get their hands on the magic. Gemma is trying to find a secret temple, where she has heard that she can bind the magic again to restore order, but she can’t trust anyone. Gemma is also dealing with her life in London, where everything has gone downhill since her mother’s death.
2. So far, this book is okay. I definitely liked the first one much better, but Rebel Angels is interesting enough to capture my attention. It is like the first book in the trilogy, there are plot twists and turns that keep you guessing as to what will happen next. But sometimes I disagree with Gemma’s decisions in and out of the realms and it is very frustrating, like when she does things just to impress her friend Felicity when she knows she shouldn’t do them.
3. I think the theme right now is trust. Gemma is really confused as what she should do. Circe has many spirits corrupted from the realms, and Gemma isn’t sure who she should trust. She has many visions were three girls tell her “she lies…” but Gemma doesn’t know who. Also, her friend Pippa, who died, is still in the realms. She hasn’t crossed over yet to death, and Gemma thinks there’s something weird about her but she trusts her never less…
4. My favorite character is Mrs. Moore. Mrs. Moore was a teacher at Gemma’s finishing school, before she was fired because of Gemma and her friends trying to save their faces. Mrs. Moore still continues to be nice to the girls and is always there to give advice and help when they need it, or just a friend to be there for them.
5. My least favorite character right now is Ann. She is one of Gemma’s best friends, and only attends the finishing school to become a governess. She is not rich like the others. But instead of being hopeful and trying to turn her life around herself, like getting a job to make a living some other way, she sits around moping about her life, when she could change her future. It is very annoying.
6. I predict that Gemma will find the temple and bind the magic, but realize that Pippa is corrupted and one of Circe’s assassins. I also think that Circe will not be defeated, not until the end of the third book, but she will be held back a bit and the conflict will resolve for the mean time.

1. Right now in my book Chan Kim is dealing with the difficulties of a new life in Minnesota where he is the only Asian in his grade. Back in LA, Chan was the star soccer player on his team, but in Iron River, Minnesota there is no soccer, only football, so he tries out for the football team. Chan surprised and impressed everyone when he made the varsity football team, everyone except his dad. His dad wants Chan to focus only on academics and doesn't want him to play football. Chan feels like his dad is constantly trying to make his life miserable by disagreeing with everything he wants. He is embarrassed by his dad because he can’t speak English very well. Chan has made one friend, Mikko, but the rest of his football teammates don’t like him, and he thinks it’s because he’s Asian.

2. So far I love this book because it focuses on something unfortunate that happens all the time, but is true. This is people treating you negatively just because you are different. The author really brings out what a big deal this is. Also, when I think the climax is about to end, another twist comes along and I become hooked once more. Chan has a different opinion about everything than the other characters in the book, so he is unique and stands out from the others.

3. A theme that I’ve noticed is the want to fit in. In his new home Chan feels like an outsider because everyone else has blond hair and blue eyes. He wants to be like everyone else so he’s not the one that people stare at when he walks in the door. He is suddenly embarrassed of his family’s traditional Korean lifestyle, from their giant Buddha statue to his own cultural background. Part of the reason why he tries out for football is because everyone else plays football, and he doesn’t want to be different. It can be very difficult to move into an entirely new place, and he thinks if he’s like everyone else, then that will make it easier.

4. My favorite character is Chan’s mom, also known as O-Ma. She is very supportive to Chan. When his dad said no to football, O-Ma said to at least let him try out and see if he makes the team. She is also good at controlling her anger. She never yells or expresses her anger in a violent way, she instead calmly explains her thoughts. When Chan's dad gets mad and frustrated, she is the one to calm him down.

5. My least favorite character is Jimmi. He does everything that Rom, a bully, does. He will laugh at everything Rom says and do anything he tells him to, even if it's unjust. He and Rom are horrible to Chan, but in a way Jimmi is worse because he is just following Rom. He hasn't even given Chan a chance, from day one he and Rom have just been bullying Chan at every possible chance.

6. I think Chan will realize that he shouldn't be ashamed of his culture and that he will learn to accept his dad for who he is. Chan might stand up to Rom, and maybe there is something about Rom that Chan didn't know, which is the reason why he's so mean to people who are different from himself.

1. Right now in my book, the all one of the characters named Charlie has thought of a way to get her roommates at the school she is going to, to like her. The alpha who runs the school, Shira, is Charlie’s mom’s use-to-be boss and Charlie has known her since she was very little. Charlie knows all about how the school was made and all the school is made and all the cool things about it, including the universal key, that unlocks every door. To make her roommates like her, she stole the key from Shira so that her roommates could sneak into special passageways that they could meet up with Shira’s five sons and not get caught. This is because it is against the rules to sneak off and meet up with her sons. If they snuck off and got caught they would get expelled for the school, Alpha Academy. But, the key has to be unlocked with a code, which, Charlie has just cracked. The code has nothing to do with Shira, but her mother, because her mom, Bee, was Shira’s assistant and did all that type of stuff. The code was 2-4-2-7-5-4-3, which is Charlie.

2. I love this story a lot. It takes you into a whole new type of world. This book is filled either new types of technology that would be amazing to have and the story is full with twists and turns. You get to know the characters so well, and it is only the first in the series, and that is something that I really like in books. But, it can feel hard to relate to most of the characters in this book. They are all beyond great at what they do. That is how they got into the school. But, that doesn’t stop me from liking this book and recommending it if you are looking for a new series to read.

3. A very important them in this book is the trust. Because Shira has known Charlie for so long she trusts her and recruits her to be her spy. Then Charlie gets one of her roommates expelled and the girl suspected Charlie as being a spy for Shira and got her kicked out. Nobody thinks they can trust her and don’t want to get on her bad side knowing she might have the ability to get rid of them. Then Skye, another roommate of Charlie’s, HADs (hopes and dreams) was found and they made it quite clear that Skye didn’t want a couple of her roommates to be there either. So now, both Skye and Charlie both are trying to get there classmates trust back.

4. My favorite character is Charlie. She is the easiest to relate with in some ways. She wasn’t always going to be going to the school. But, when at last minute a girl resigned she got her spot. Also she is an amazing inventor and also a great writer. The stuff she can make is unbelievable, like this robot butterfly she created. She is brilliant in everything to do with technology. Charlie is also easier to sympathize for. Charlie had to brake up with Shira’s son how was her boyfriend to got to school there. Also, Shira made said Charlie’s mom had to quite her job as Shira’s assistant if Charlie was to go to school there.

5. My least favorite character is Shira. She is incognito as a perfect alpha role model but really she can be really mean. She made Charlie be her spy and leave all the people she loved. Shira is very conceded and arrogant and being the best is what is important to her. It is very hard to relate with her.

6. My prediction for what will happen next is that someone else will told to leave Alpha Academy (the last one to be at Alpha Academy is made the ultimate alpha). I am really not sure who it will be. It might be Skye who will leave next because she is a dance major and she hurt her ankle. Or it might be Allie J., who isn’t really Allie J. the popular singer but a girl named Allie A., who committed stole her identity. But, I don’t think it will be ether of them they are to important characters, but I think someone else will leave before the book ends.

2. I feel that it is a great book because it’s always has my mind thinking about how it relates to my life. And it is written so well that I just keep reading on.

3. The theme of the book that I think fits well is struggling friend ships. although they play soccer. Out side the game Krista and her friends slowly drift apart and get in fights.

2. This is a very good book. You can’t get bored, because there is always action. Since they are in war there is a lot of fighting and intense parts in the book so it always keeps me interested.
3. The theme in this book is trust because Rick has to trust Cracker that she smells a booby trap and if she doesn’t. In this book there relationship is life or death for them and the other men in their squad.
4. My favorite character is Cracker because she is very smart and if she fails and is scolded by Rick she always tries to prove herself to him.
5. My least favorite character is Rick because he is very strict with cracker and he doesn’t let her go out of his sight.
6. I think that they are going to succeed in the rescue mission and they are going to be heroes around the camp. 3. The theme in the book is playing with fire because he was arrested in the beginning and he was scared of being arrested because he was doing drugs with his friends.

4. My favorite character in the book is Jack because it's funny to read about him always just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

5. My least favorite character in the book is his friend (Tim) because it seems like he is taking advantage of Jack by making him do his idea to sell weed.

1. In my book the main character, James, is currently adjusting to his latest mission: busting a child criminal out of a maximum security prison. Although James doesn't understand it too much himself, apparently the mother of this kid has been selling dangerous weapons to terrorists, and they need the kid to trace her. James is undercover as a prisoner there, so he and Dave, another undercover kid, have to somehow get themselves and the kid out of there.

2. For me, this book has been an awesome, thrilling ride page after page. The book transitions really well, and is filled with excitement and adrenaline. i feel like I'm in the adventure with James the whole time, and I love it.

3. The theme I have noticed most strongly in this book so far is definitely adventure. The characters thrive on it. Even in the beginning of the book, Lauren, James's sister, is shown in her basic training as a cherub, or kid spy. The whole plot is based on adventure, and never is there a page lacking in it.

4. My favorite character in the story is definitely James, because he is just full of energy. From the beginning of the series, even, James is full of energy to do anything, although often with a lot of freshness as well. His character was just well defined from the start.

5. My least favorite character in this particular story is definitely John Jones, who is in charge of this mission. He doesn't really seem to understand the stress that the kids go through, and I dislike him for that.

6. I think that the situation with James being sent undercover to jail is definitely going to get ugly, and I'm looking forward to it, in an odd kind of way. All the missions seem to go like that.

In my book the two girls Mallory and Meredith just got in a mystical fire as they were babysitting and fireworks suddenly went off in the back yard of their house. The two girls just woke up I the hospital thinking the whole incident was just a dream. Somehow the two girls new the fire was coming because a couple nights before they woke up on their birthday, and found out that they both had the same dream of them suffocating underneath a burning curtain in the middle of a fire.

I sort of like the book, it’s interesting and has catchy events that make your want to keep reading, but the book jumps around a bit too much, and leaves me confused. The fire scene kept me reading, but then in the hospital it got confusing, and then the book got boring.

I notice there is bravery, when Meredith got all of the children out of the burning house before her, and then stayed to find Mallory before crawling underneath a window right before it shattered.

I like Merry (Meredith) because even though the two girls Mallory is a preppy type girl, and always cares about what she looks like and when, but for Merry she could go anywhere in her pajamas and not even care. I like how she’s independent and doesn’t care, but is a brave and a smart girl in all different ways.

I don’t really have a least favorite character, but he one that is the most difficult to understand or to follow, is Tim. The step father? Or the father? I don’t really know exactly which character he is, and what role he plays, but Tim always seems to be fake around the girls like he cares so much about them but I feel like though he shows it, he doesn’t really mean it.

My prediction is that since the girls are getting mysterious powers, they will both see something very bad coming, and has to do something to prevent it. I think they are going to go on a big adventure that is sure to keep me reading.

1.Right now in my book there are a few things going on. For the main character Ender he is trying to train the new troops he was given just after being assigned a command position in the Dragon Army. In the side story with the brother and sister of Ender they are trying to get into places of significant power with the people they created on the nets (Demontheses and Locke). That is what is going on in my book right now.
2.I love the book so far. I love the book because it has serious concept with intense battles as well. Also due to the side stories and how they connect to one another.
3.The dominant theme in the book so far is working hard. I believe it is working hard because the main character Ender has to go through some serious challenges to make his way to be a commander. I also believe this is the theme because the brother and sister are at home trying to get a substantial amount of power with their desks (aka computers).
4.My favorite character is Ender. He is my favorite character because nothing comes easy to him. He is also my favorite character because he does not get along well with his siblings either. Also due to the fact that he can run about 40 to 50 kids to win a battle.
5.My least favorite character is the brother of Ender, Peter. He is my least favorite character because he is ruthless and evil. Also due to the fact that he does anything to get what he wants. Finally because he uses peoples fears to get them to personally fear him.
6.My prediction about what is going to happen next is that Ender will be sent into a battle against the buggers. He will also win this battle and be called a hero because of it.

Once the suicide occurs, everyone realizes that the school is in terrible shape. Cole then gets the idea to change the school mascot from a bulldog to a spirit bear. Once they revieve the confirmationl, they get rid of the bulldog statue and then find a statue of a spirit bear made of wood by an old vagabond that is stragenly similar to the spirit bear. Cole then is able to change how everyone feels and acts in the school and everyojne starts treating each other fairly and kindly.
2. Although a great book, The Ghost of Spirit Bear is not as good as Touching Spirit Bear. For starters the book was to short. Also the book didn’t have the aadventure and suspense Touching Spirit Bear had. This book also gave a mass change. Not only one or to people changed like in Mikaelson’s first book.
3. A dominant theme in this book is definitely courage. Cole had to sum up all his might to propose this change to his school. He talked about his problems, his banishment to Alaska, and about the Spirit Bear. Peter also has to summon of his courage to even come to school everyday. With bullies like Kieth calling him a retard and mimicking him while he stammers. Peter was even beat up in the bathroom when he was attacked with the lights off. Without courage, all the events in this book would’ve never happened.
4. Peter is my favorite charecter. He is because, like Cole, he went to the island and got a new life to live. However, unlike Cole, Peter now isn’t a complete sissy. Cole is now afraid of an old vagabond, he can’t take a joke and he can’t stand people saying words that “disturb nature” . Peter is now a normal kid. Cole howecer is a total hippie.
5. My least favorite character is Kieth because he is a complete jerk. He always messes around with Peter and Cole. He bullies them, beats them up, and has this macho act on at all times. When he ends up in the hospital and Cole saves his life, he still doesn’t tell Cole who beat up Peter and still acts like a jerk evry now and then.

1. In the book right now, the main character Danny, and his two best friends are at basketball camp. Danny is much shorter then the rest of the kids. Also, instead of being in a regular cabin with kids his own age, he is with kids younger than him. Mostly right now, the main character is going through a lot of adversity.
2. This book in detail is all about basketball and being the small guy. This makes the book very interesting with the fact that there is a lot of action when they are playing but also, a little bit of drama I guess when Danny is made fun of for being small. This book is also fun because I love how the author writes in detail about the games and things like that.
3. The most dominant theme right now is friendship. Most of the time it is Danny, and his friends doing things together. Also, Danny is experiencing a dilemma when one of his friends stops hanging out with them and with someone else. Also, it is about how Danny is making new friends because he is with younger kids.
4. My favorite character right now has to be Will Stoddard, Danny’s best friend. He is my favorite because is always saying something funny or lightening the mood in the book. I think that you need to have at least one of these kinds of people in every book because if you don’t then the book may get to serious.
5. My least favorite character right now is Danny’s coach at camp. He is my least favorite because he is very strict, almost too strict. I know that coaches need to make players show discipline, but this guy takes it to a new level. Also, he has told the team that the team belongs to one kid, one of Danny’s rivals. This makes him even more unlikable.
6. I think that Danny’s coach is going to get really mad at Danny for something that he shouldn’t have and Danny isn’t going to play as much. Also, I think that some more people are going to make fun of how short Danny is.

1. What’s not going in my book should be the question. Right now Hugo is having troubles finding the missing parts of his “invention” shall I say? The time keeper has taken away piece after piece. Hugo collects pieces from ordinary items but he doesn’t have enough money to pay for them. The invention will reveal what his dad has done in the past. Without all the pieces he’ll have no connection to his dad that he never met.

2. Since I’ve read this book before personally it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. It is this way because it has illustrations too. I feel with this feature it makes it easy to comprehend and it is more fun to read than a normal book. With the illustrations readers have to focus on the pictures to follow the story. It’s like having a movie that the reader reads. This made the book very enjoying and I couldn’t put it down.

3. A troubled relationship is the main theme that I see in this book. I see this in many ways during the book. One example is of Hugo and the time keeper. Whenever Hugo needs new pieces for his invention he has to steal from the little store the time keeper has. When this happens it’s always frustrating for Hugo. They start then to be friends but with “strings” attached. I feel bad for Hugo because he’s getting meddled with.

4. My favorite character would have to be Hugo. I find him so motivated. Even though his plans don’t work sometimes he always gets back up and tries again. I feel like he’s a good role model saying not to give up and to pursue what you love. He’s also my favorite because he’s always looking out for other people. He worries about everybody and asks for nothing in return.

5. My least favorite character is his mom. She is a major tool. She always prevents Hugo from trying to piece together the invention of his so he has no connection to his dad at all. With this happening I feel bad for him because he never knew his dad. So for this to happen it’s just a punch into the gut of Hugo. I think his mom is worried what will happen.

6. I can’t give away the ending but I hope that he gets the pieces before the ending and I’ll let you as a reader finds out the ending to this marvelous book.

The two girls still in Atlanta, Zoe and Maddie, aren't as tight as before because Angela used to keep them all as one. Angela hates her new home in California and misses her freinds so much and she is about to start school in three days! While Angela is having this crisus Zoe is starting to like this guy that used to like Angela and Maddie is smoking pot with her new love.

2. I really like this book a lot. Sometimes it gets a little confusing because it is written in all IMs. This book is also a little old for me so it is a little hard to follow.

3. I think the theme in this book is overcoming obstacles or friendship dilemmas. I think this because all the girls are overcoming new obstacles like being away from eachother and dealing with there social lives. Also there friendship is falling apart a little because one of there three some has moved 3,000 miles away!

4. My favorite character is Angela. This is because I can really relate to her on how if I had to move away from my friends how depressed I would be. Also because she I are really laid back even though she hates California she is taking it like a mautre adult.

5.My least favorite character is Maddie. This is because she does very wrong things and doesn't care about her friends just her social life. Maddie has been smoking pot so this guy will like her which is just plain wrong.

2. So far this book is pretty interesting. I like the way it is written and the way the author really makes you feel like you are there. I also like this book because I like basketball and I can relate to it. I wish there was more about basketball though. The book shares a lot of unnecessary details about Lonnie’s life and his job.
3. A big theme in this book so far is friendship. The guys on Lonnie’s team have to work together as friends because they are a team. Most of them are in tough situations, but they have each other to rely on. That is what friends are for. This book expresses that in a really cool “working as a team” way.
4. My favorite character in the book is Hoops is Ox. Ox is the biggest guy on the team. He is not very good unless he is angry. He is pretty funny and a really good team player. Ox is really cool and nice and that is one of the reasons I like him. He also always lends money anyone who needs it (including Lonnie) because he is not in as much financial trouble.
5. My least favorite character is Cal. I don’t dislike him just because he is a hobo. He is kind of annoying and creepy. He makes the team do strange things that don’t make a lot of sense. He also pulled a knife out on Lonnie once. This was when I really started think Cal was weird. I would definitely not want him to be my basketball coach.
6. I think that the team will win their first tournament game. There are eight stages and it wouldn’t make sense if the lost in the first game. I think they will make it all the way to the championship (in spite of their coach). Then I think the pressure will be on Lonnie to impress the scouts that will be there.

1. Right now in my book, I've only gotten as far as to find out the characters' basic descriptions. There's one girl named Angela who seems to be interested in being the best, but accepts the fact that she's not. She also gets grossed out easily. Another girl named Maddie doesn't like the clique kind of stuff that goes on in their school. She's more of a "deal with it" or a "who cares" type of person. There's one more girl named Zoe who really wants a thrill. She's not too happy with her life because it's boring her. There are only three characters in this book that speak. It's all through text message form so it's pretty cool.

2. I think this book is kinda of slow but it's definitely going to pick up because it's one of those girl books that do that. I think I'll need to give some time so it can absorb me into the story.

3. The theme is this book is friendship. There are three girls that are all best friends. They talk about everything with eachother. They have trust but they're all totally different from eachother.

4. My favorite character is probably Angela because she's more laid back. She doesn't care about her appearance in the view of other people. She doesn't like all that exclusive kind of stuff. She has a backbone and she's not afraid to use it.

5. My least favorite character is Zoe because she seems like she's kind of pessimistic. But she might be one of those girls who just wants attention.

6. I don't know much about the book to make a prediction yet but I think Angela's date is going to go well.

1. Right now in the book I am in a very suspenseful scene. The main character Princess Ani, had to run away from a man that used to be her guard. This man’s name is Ungolad, and he had been trying to murder the princess in many parts of the book. Princess Ani made a narrow escape from Death as Ungolad tried to murder her once again. She ran into the forest for days with a big gash in her back from where Ungolad had hit her with his knife. After four days she found the women she was looking for, Gilsa. Gilsa had taken in Ani before when Ani had been running away from Ungolad once again. On the exact page I am on, Ani meets up with one of her fellow guards who she thought was dead. They were so surprised to see each other alive and they cried many tears of joy.

2. So far I really like this book. I’m really into fantasy and I couldn’t get over my Harry Potter phase from Summer. My friend recommend this book and said it was just as good as Harry Potter. She was very right because this book is a mix of fantasy, action adventure, romance, and a little bit of mystery. This book also has very suspenseful and interesting scenes. Something that interests me in this book is when in parts of the book there is talk of languages with the animals, wind and nature, and it’s all very interesting.

3. I theme I have noticed so far in this book is maturity. In the palace Ani always had everything done for her, and she knew nothing of what went on in the world outside the Palace walls. When she was alone, left to fend for herself in Bayern, she had to grow up in order to survive. She had to find find her own job, clothes, and food, which she never had to do before. She also matured because she found out who she truly was. In the palace she was always told who she would be, but in Bayern she found she was her own person. She even found that she could make friends, and speak a different tongue.

4. .My favorite character would probably be Enna because she always helps Ani. Ani had never had friends at the palace and Enna showed her what a true friends is. When Enna found out Ani’s true identity she kept her secret and treated her new best friend just as she had before. When Ani’s identity of being a princess was almost revealed she came up with a great cover story. Enna also saved Ani when Ungolad almost captured her and was planning to kill her. Enna saved her identity and life, which is really what true friends are for. I like it when Enna says to Ani “Let’s just keep you safe until we can get you on your way home come spring. Until then, I’m glad you’ll let me be your guard goose.” (247).

5. My least favorite character in the book is Selia. Selia was Princess Ani’s lady in waiting back home in Kildenree. When Ani and Selia went on their journey to their new life in Bayern, things changed. Selia decided she was tired of being the lady in waiting. She and other guards on the journey decided they were going to murder Princess Ani. They did not succeed in murdering Ani but Selia fled to the castle where she told the princes she was Ani. She took Ani’s name and planned on marrying the prince as Ani was supposed to. Selia is just a selfish brat, this is willing to kill someone just for her title to be princess. She evil and hope she is disposed of later in the book.

6. I predict that Ani will tell the King that she is the actually Princess. She has been afraid that the King would of course not believe her and Selia would see to it that she be killed. But I think Ani will pluck up the courage to tell the King who she really is. Maybe she will tell all the people she works with her true identity, and they will protect her when she goes to tell the king the truth. I will be really happy if Ani become the princess she is supposed to be and Selia and the gruesome guards are arrested.

1.) In my book right now Sara’s dad has died and all of his money was wasted on a diamond mine. Also she has to be a servant to Mrs. Minch’s school. This includes cleaning the fireplaces and girls rooms. Also she can’t eat with her old classmates. Her life is very different as a servant.
2.) So far I like the book. I think the author does a really good job on explaining how Sara feels. He describes her day to day emotions in great detail. Another strong point is his explanations on a certain situation.
3.) The dominate theme in A Little Princess is love. I think that love is a dominate theme because she loves her father. Even thought that he died she loves him even more. Also she loves her doll Emily. Emily was bought for Sara by her dad.
4.) My Favorite character is Sara. She is my favorite character because she is a character that transforms from one person in the begging of the book to another character by the middle. The author shows her as a rich girl and then slowly transforms to a servant. Another reason that Sara is my favorite character is because she always believes in magic.
5.) My least favorite character is Mrs. Minch. All she cares about is money and being mean to kids. I think that Mrs. Minch is like Miss Hannigan from Annie. I think their characters are similar because they are both mean and nasty, but Mrs. Minch does not drink like Miss. Hannigan.
6.) I think that something magical will happen next in the book. I think this because Sara keeps talking about magic. Also I think that her money will come back. I think that the author gives hints on what is going to happen next, and he repeats that Emily the doll is real, and He is just starting to talk about the new people next store with the monkey.

1. In my book right now a group of boys from Devon, including Gene, are coming back from shoveling off railroads to help with wartime labor shortages. While they are walking back Brinker, one of the boys from Devon, starts talking to Gene. He starts talking about how he’s tired of school and wants to enlist in the war right now. This idea excites Gene, and he decides that he will enlist in the war as soon as possible.

2. I really like this book and how it moves pretty fast but still manages to put in a lot of details. I can picture all of the scenes in this book because John Knowles does such a great job of describing the whole setting as the book moves along. The one thing that I don’t like is that I can’t really figure out where the book I going because the conflict hasn’t become very prominent yet.

3. The theme that I have noticed so far is complicated of friendship. In the beginning of the book Finny and Gene are really good friends and seem to have no worries about their friendship. Then Gene starts to think that Finny doesn’t wasn’t him to be a good student because then that would make them at the same level, but Finny with athletics. After that revelation Finny tries even harder to be a better student and to prevent Finny from keeping him from his academics.

4. My favorite character so far is Finny because he always has a new ways to have a good time and he knows how to enjoy himself. Also he keeps Gene happy by taking him on new “adventures” and inventing new activities and sports to keep himself and the rest of the boys at Devon.

5. My least favorite character right now is Gene because he relied on Finny most of the summer for entertainment and didn’t really do much for himself. Also he thought that Finny was trying to compete with him which I think is really mean for him to think of him as a competitor instead of a genuine friend.

6. I think that later on in the book Finny will come back and start playing sports again. If Finny comes back then Gene won’t enlist in the war and instead graduate from Devon

1. Right now in my book crazy Annie continues to hate all of Paul's new models of Misery. But something that struck me as funny was how Annie buys Paul a typewriter with a broken "n" key which makes him have to write down each of the N's that come up, but later as he's writing the story for Annie he shook the typewriter and a piece of metal falls out and it was the "t" key so now he has to write in the N's and the T's. Paul is in a lot of pain after Annie cut his foot off with an axe. That could have been the scariest part of literature i have ever read in my life. She did it so calmly not like a murder who was cursing and yelling as she did it. No, this is what adds to the horror she did it calmly and kept telling him it was almost over. I'm not gonna sleep for a week.

2. The book is fantastic, it is everything i expected and then some. It was good because of how he writes. Normally i wouldn't just pick up the first scary book that comes in contact with my hands but he is such a good author that keeps you guessing.

3. I think the theme in this book is either pain, in how well you can take it and how much of it you can take, or fear and how you can use it to your advantage.

4. My favorite character is back to Annie because she is such a well rounded character. One minute she's walking around happy and full of life and the next she's hurling around an axe like she was looking for a christmas tree.

5. My least favorite character is Paul. I don't like him as much as Annie because he is a little bit of a risk taker but he is definitely not as much of a risk taker as I hoped he would be. I want to call him a bit of a coward but if I was in a crazy women's house who was forcing me to rewrite a story while I had two broken legs I wouldn't be running into burning buildings.

6. I don't think he's ever getting out. I think he'll finish the book and then she'll kill him. I'm guessing he'll write it then she'll blow his head off with a shotgun and mount it on her living room wall. Now I know that sounds sick and I should get a psychiatrist for saying such a thing but that's something that she would do.

1. Right now in my book, Robert and Sophie are still on their quest for the grail but are closing in fast. Although they have encountered several problems along the way. The good thing is that the police discovered that Robert and Sophie are inoccent but Roberts old friend, a historian who knows more about the Holy Grail than anyone else in the world, might have just turned on him.

2. So far the book has been great! Up till now there seemed to be somewhat of a straight forward plot but an enourmous twist that changes the book dramatically has just been introduced and the book has gotten very interesting.

3. The theme I am noticing right now in the book would definetly be betrayal. Robert and Leigh Teabing used to be good freinds but now as they get closer to the grail, Teabing has turned on them and is threatening to kill them if they do not help him find the truth of the Grail and make it known to the world.

4. Right now in the book, Leigh Teabing is my favorite character. He is full of knowledge about the Grail and the history of secret societies. An lately, he has become a very unpredictable charater and has revealed himself as someone I thought didn't even have a connection to him.

5. My least favorite character is an albino munk named Silas. Silas is a follower of a man named The Teacher. He is a major figure in a enormous Catholic organization called Opus Dei. He beleives the opposite of Robert and Sophie and his goal is to get the criptex from them before they can find the truth about the Grail.

6. I think that Robert and Sophie will decide not to go with Teabing and manage to escape before he can kill them, ultimately unlocking the code and uncovering the truth about the Holy Grail.

1. So far in my book, Chan's family has moved from L.A and there thriving family business to save their family's honor. As Abogee's brother is half way around the world, chasing money. They've moved to a small town in Minnesota and the Kim's rent out part of a house across from the library. Out of boredom, Chan decides to join the football team. But soon after he is asked by his father to work at the new family business for at least the rest of the football season, if not more.

2. So far the book is rather boring and dull, and I would much rather have some events popping out in the book. Perhaps it is because the majority of this has been introduction, but I hope things will pick soon.

3. The theme so far in the book has been the value of determination. At a new school, your the odd man out, and at a school where everyone is white except for you, that doesn't help. I admire Chan's determination to fit in and find a group of friends. He also tries to keep his family positive about their future, although he doesn't always show it.

4. My favorite character is Mikko Ripanen, the son of the principal and the kid that got Chan his tryout. I like him because he' s funny, outgoing and positive, which helps Chan get his new life rolling.

5. My least favorite character is Abogee because he is too serious and shows no compassion for his son or daughter. Perhaps this is because he's nervous about his new business and the fact that money must be tight.

6. I predict that Abogee and Chan will have a fight about his place on the team and his responsibility to his family. I think Chan will win and have an angry father for most of the book.

1. Right now in the book, nothing exciting is happening. James is just going through basic training at the facility. Every day he has to wake up every morning by his clock at 5am. I would not like it to wake up for school every morning at 5am.

2. The book as it comes down to detail is very good. It uses descriptive details to explain or show something. Sometimes there even paragraphs describing a man in the book.

3. I think the most dominate theme in the book right now is perseverance. In order for James to survive the training, he has to have perseverance. Another theme would be confidence. He mine as well give up if he doesn’t have any confidence in himself.

4. Right now my favorite character is James. He is the main character in the book along with his sister who is a minor character. I think James is my favorite because he is sort of like me. He reminds me when I was a little bit younger when I used to get into trouble.

5. My least favorite character is probably his sister. She seems to be a little annoying to him and it reminds me of another family I know.

6. I think that James will succeed the basic training and will soon get his first mission.

1. At the moment in my book, an undercover worker who has infiltrated NASA is in space bio- engineering the smallpox to be a much deadlier virus. No one has any idea that he is there, though agent Smith has caught a man he works with, Ivan Beria.

2. This book has a lot of suspense and is a real page-turner, because the action just never stops. I like how it keeps you on the edge of your set the entire time you are reading.

3. I think that the theme so far in this book is thinking fast. Covert- One is always trying to stay one step ahead of the organization, which they still do not know the intentions of, in order to catch them and stop them from doing whatever they might do with the smallpox. This is the only way they were able to catch Beria, by predicting his movements and intercepting him.

4. My favorite character is Jon Smith. The reason for this is he is very good at predicting the enemy's movements and thinking ahead. Without him, they would never be able to keep up with the organization without the trail going cold.

5. My least favorite character so far is Dr. Reed. This is because he is willing to release and test the plague of vicious smallpox on his co-workers with whom he had worked with for a very long time. This is very mean of him.

6. I predict that the organization will successfully acquire the virus and hold the world hostage, but then be stopped.

1)Right now in my book Bella is facing her father for the first time since her wedding. It has been about 2 or 3 months since she last saw him and he has no idea what he is about to learn. Jacob recently revealed his werewolf secret to Charlie, Bella’s dad, and he is in disbelief. The Cullen told Charlie that Bella had been deathly ill while she was really pregnant. Charlie has just arrived at the Cullens’ house and is possible in store for the biggest shock of his life.

2)I love this book so far. It is very well detailed and when you read it you feel like your actually Bella. It feels as if you’re actually in the story yourself. I know that when I read it everything kind of is a blur except for the words on the page. I cannot wait to read more into the suspenseful book.

3)I think the theme in this part of the book is probably following your heart. I think this because when Bella becomes pregnant Edward and the family tries to get her to move away and say she’s off at college or something. However at this point she doesn’t have the strength to leave behind Charlie, Jacob, and all her friends. She decides to stick around until she has the child and now she’s not quite sure what the right thing to do is. All she’s going to do is follow her heart.

4)My favorite character right now is Reneesme, Bella’s baby girl, because she sounds like a very cute and understanding child. I love the fact that she is unbelievably intelligent for her age. She doesn’t have the ability to talk yet but she came communicate to people through her thoughts. All she has to do is place her hand on someone and think of something and it automatically transfers to the other person’s mind so they know what she wants, when she wants it. It is very hard to explain in words but somehow the author did a great job describing the power.

5)My least favorite character is Rosalie because she is very self-centered. All she wanted the whole time was Reneesme. When Bella was going through labor Rosalie didn’t care whatsoever about Bella’s safety or just her life in general. Once that baby arrived Rosalie completely took over, she was basically trying to take Bella’s rightful place as mother. I am not a fan of hers at the moment.

6)I think that Bella and Edward are going to live in the cottage that Esme gave them and raise Reneesme together. I also think Bella is going to stay in Forks because I don’t think she has the strength to move away now that Charlie has met his granddaughter. I also think that the Volturi are going to come in at some point to see the little vampire-human baby.

1) Right now in my book, Eragon is getting his training as a dragon rider, in an elf city. He has an interesting master who always gives him tasks that seem easy, but turn out to be much more challenging and detailed. At the same time, Eragon’s cousin Roran is having some problems of his own. His village was attacked by the Raz’ac, and now his village is forced to move in order to survive. They decide to head south to another country named Surda. There they hope to find the Varden who are a group of people that almost act like a country that moves, but no one in the village knows where they are.

2) Right now, my book is split into two parts, the part with Eragon, and the part with Roran. The part with Eragon is actually not as fun to read because it is moving slower due to the fact that not much is happening with him right now with him except for his training. Roran’s part in the story is more enjoyable for me because there is a lot more action and that village fight a lot more than you think it would and it reminds me of the last book, because there are many big decisions, and you never see anything coming.

3) Right now a theme in my book is to have patience. I see this with Eragon’s part of the story which is written about more about. His training really focuses on using his mind and being patient with his teacher because he knows that he can teach him some very valuable information. He is however getting frustrated with his teacher, because to him, they don’t seem to be doing much.

4) My favorite character right now is Arya. She is an elf that has been traveling with Eragon, and we just found out that she is actually a princess. That’s just another unforeseen plot twister. This confuses Eragon because he doesn’t know how to act her anymore. Reading everything that happens with Arya, especially with her temper is very fun to read.

5) Right now my least favorite character is someone from Roran’s village, named Sloan. He just gave up his daughter’s life pretty much and forced the village to move so they could look for her. He also was found guilty of murdering someone from the village, so that he could give up his daughter undetected. Those types of characters area always hated.

6) Next, I think that Eragon is going to get too impatient with his teachings and give up or something will happen that forces the teaching to move dramatically faster. Also with Roran’s chapters, I think that he will go to Surda and there find out that that is where the Varden is and find out that the stone Eragon brought home, which he blames everything on, is actually a dragon egg.

1. The Theif Lord has started out very exciting. So far I know that it takes place in Venice, Italy. The starting scine was a private investigator named Mr. Getz. He was just approuched by a married coulple who neede help finding their lost nephews. Bo and Prosper Hartlieb were their nephews. Prosper and Bo ran away to Venice because their parents had recently died and their mother had always talked about what a magical place Venice really is.

2. This book has been very enjoyable. I think I like it so much because of the cat and mouse type of theme. The nephews are lost and Mr. Getz is determined to find them in the large city of Venice.

3. I don't think I can really say what the theme is just yet but if I had to choose I would say freedom. This would be my choice because when they ran away from their aunt and uncle they were running away from two cruel people.

4. My favorite character would have to be prosper. Prosper is the older brother of Bo and he is very protective. The author makes it seem like Prosper would die before he let anything happen to his brother.

5. Mr. Hartlieb is definatly my least favorite character in the Thief Lord. He is a cranky old man that feels insulted to be related to Bo and Prosper.

6. I prdict that throughout the book Mr. Getz will be looking for the children. I also think that at the end he will find Prosper and Bo and maybe end up adopting them.

Mia always knew that her dad lived, in Genovia, and was a politician, but what she didn’t know would change her life. When Mia’s dad makes a surprise visit to tell her that she is the heir to the throne of Genovia, and a princess, she knew her life would never be the same. Now she has to be followed around by a bodyguard, and attend princess lessons everyday with her strict grandmother. She was attempting to keep the fact that she was a princess from her classmates, when a press leak occurs. Mia is left wondering, who told the press?
2. So far, I have been enjoying this book. It has many of the problems that real life teenagers and girls my age have, while still including a fairy tale element. The problem of mean, popular girls is faced, when Lana Weinberger taunts Mia every day for things such as her hair, her body, to the people she hangs out with. Mean girls are something all people have to face at one time or another, and are perfectly shown in The Princess Diaries. Also, the witty style of writing always keeps you laughing, and never lets you become bored.
3. A theme that I have noticed so far in The Princess Diaries is friendship. I see friendship in Mia and her best friend Lily’s friendship. They fight often, and sometimes try to impress the other, even though they are already best frineds. When Mia’s grandmother gives her a makeover, Lily overreacts, and says that Mia looks like a Q-tip. (Her hair was cut short, and dyed blond.) They stooped speaking for a while, but then made up. Also, Mia was dared by Lily to drop an eggplant out of her high rise apartment, and after checking that no one was there, Mia dropped it. This is something that Mia would never do if she was on her own. Mia is usually calm, and cautious, and thinks things through. Although it is not a good influence, Lily definently affects the way Mia acts.
4. My favorite character is Lily. She can be wuite mean at times, but her cynical ways always keep me wondering what she will do next. She has a tendency to go off on rants, whether they be about how the youth is slipping, or how Mia is acting weird, they always liven the book up. She has her own show, on which she does crazy things, and occasionally illeagel things. Lily livens up the book as a whole, and for this reason she is my favorite character.
5. My least favorite character is Mia’s grandmother. She is always telling Mia that she is doing something wrong. She will tell Mia that her hair is bad, her outfit does not match, her French accent is terrible, the list goes on. She seems a little scary, also. She has tattoed onto her eyelids eyeliner, and her discription reminds me a little of a zombie. She is very controlling, and even has total control over Mia’s dad. Overall, she is a scary person, and is definetly my least favorite character.
6. I predict that when the whole school knows about Mia being a princess, people like Lana will be either jealous, or attempt to befriend her. She might alos be swarmed by reporters, and say some things she will regret.

She will tell Mia that her hair is bad, her outfit does not match, her French accent is terrible, the list goes on. She seems a little scary, also. She has tattooed onto her eyelids eyeliner, and her description reminds me a little of a zombie. She is very controlling, and even has total control over Mia’s dad. Overall, she is a scary person, and is defiantly my least favorite character.
6. I predict that when the whole school knows about Mia being a princess, people like Lana will be either jealous, or attempt to befriend her. She might alos be swarmed by reporters, and say some things she will regret.

********I forgot to spell check before publishing!!! This is the correct version. Sorry.**********

1) Right now in my book, there is a kid who isn’t very popular but likes to watch kids play and have fun. He had just been invited to a pool party but instead he wanted to watch a girl do jigsaw puzzles. Right after, a little girl named Alicia had been murdered. They are doing detective work on it but have confirmed there was no sexual action or that she had been raped. As of now they think that she had been hit over the head and beaten to death. But this is a hard case and doesn’t have a lot of clues.

2) I like my book because the author is explaining what is happening with the murder in a lot of detail and not just saying she was hit over the head but rather explaining what she hadn't had happen to her and when he does that it makes me think of the other things that could've happened to her and it adds more excitement.

3) The theme of this book that I noticed so far is seeking the truth because all these people are trying to find out what really happened and are looking for someone who could've done this but have not had any luck yet. I notice this theme when the author talks about what happened to her and reaches out to the reader so you can picture it in your head and also you as a reader can seek the truth about who you think murdered her.

4) My favorite character is Jason because to me he seems like a quiet kid and a hero to children. He doesn’t get caught up in drama but likes to play with kids and get involved in other things and be unique.

5) My least favorite character would have to be Carl because he seems like a shady person in this book and he seems like a person I would assume to be a murderer. Even though I haven’t read too much about him he just seems like a character I wouldn’t like.

6) I think that next in this book they are going to lead in to more obstacles discovering who committed the murder but while doing that they will face scary things which this author will reach out and connect with the reader to explain in more detail about how these challenges for the detectives and family are going to happen.

1. In my book right now a boy named Alex, a fourteen year old spy for England, just wants to have a normal life and is trying to have a regular vacation in Venice, Italy with his friend Tom. Alex, in the last book, talked to Yassen Gregovich who told Alex to find Scorpia in Venice and that would be his destiny. So now Alex is trying to find Scorpia and figure out who they are and what they do because his dad, who is now dead, worked in Scorpia. Meanwhile, Scorpia is planning to kill thousands of children to break the bond between England and the United States of America which Alex has yet to find out.

2.I think the book is very good, so far, because it started out with a lot of action and cool chase scenes. It also seems to be starting out with a good plot.

3. The main theme in my book is determination because Alex is determined to follow in his fathers foot steps and go to Scorpia. Alex is also determined to figure out what and where Scorpia is.

4. My favorite character is Alex because he is very exciting to follow and always seems to be at the center of all the action. I can also relate to him when people don't take him seriously just because he is fourteen years old.

5. My least favorite person is Mrs. Rothman because she is going to kill thousands of kids just for money, and try to split the United States of America and England's bond.

6. My prediction for the book is Alex is going to figure out what Scorpia is up to and try to stop them from going through with their plan. England might also send him to stop Scorpia too.

1. Right now in the book, the main character Arthur Dent is in a world inhabited by all the bags he has lost in the past. The other main characters, Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebox, and Trillan have disappeared from the story for the time being. Arthur was just attacked by a bat that he accidentally hurt in the future. I am at this point very confused about what’s going on, but this is what I got out of it.
2. I personally love this book because of the humor included in it. The plot at this point is hard to follow. The book has lots of weird concepts and ideas about space and time. All in all, I really like this book.
3. the theme in this book is puzzlement. I think this because Arthur just learned about extraterrestrial life outside of Earth. Also Earth was destroyed and he was the only survivor. He doesn’t know anything about the universe.
4. My favorite character is Marvin, the super intelligent, paranoid, and depressed robot. I like him because he always has funny views of everything. He thinks he is a doormat and will obey even the worst commands, like to stay with an uncontrollable ship as it flies into a sun for a concert effect.
5. My least favorite character is Zaphod because he is mean to Marvin and Arthur Dent. I also want to mention he is/was the president of the Universe. This doesn’t mean anything though because it is just a figurehead, like British kings and queens. The more wacky you are, the better you’d be at president.
6. Next in the book, I think Arthur and the gang are going to reunite and save the universe from doom.

1. Right now in my book, Mike Lowell is talking about when he was a 15 year old in high school. He is switching from Christopher Columbus Private School to Coral Gables High School because he was never playing at Columbus. His parents were very hesitant but finally let him switch. His dad talked to the athletic director who said Mike will have a chance to play but he isn't making any promises.

2. I like the book alot so far. It is a different style than I usually read because it is telling about someones life who is a real person. I am learning a lot about Mike Lowell that I never knew outside of his baseball career.

3. The theme I notice so far in the book is perseverance. The book tells about alot of rough times Mike has gone through in his life on and off the field. But he doesn't give up and eventualy succeeds.

4. My favorite character is Mike Lowell so far. This is because he sets a great example for everyone. He had cancer once and was almost diagnosed again but managed to overcome his difficulties with cancer and also with his performance and was rewarded with the 2007 World Series MVP award.

5. My least favorite character is Fidel Castro, a former Cuban dictator who caused Lowell's family and thousands of others many years of suffering. In fact, in the book it mentions that when Mike was asked how he felt about Castro's illness. he replied," I hope he dies". This shows Mike's hatred toward the dictator who caused so much pain in his family.

I think that next in the book, it is going to talk about Mike's high school baseball career at Coral Gables and how he improved and became a high school star.
