The Mercy Papers: A Memoir of Three Weeks
by Robin Romm

Today I'm on page: 109

Body:

1. Right now in my book, the main character is having a terrible time dealing with her mother's cancer. She has moved home to Oregon to stay with her parents until her mother dies. It's especially sad because her mother has been dying of breast cancer for nine years. She has spent all of this time thinking her mother is about to die. At this point in the book, she is really struggling to keep it together. She's not finding comfort in anyone's company except her dog Mercy.

2. I'm finding this book hard to read because of the subject matter. It's actually a tribute to the writer because she is writing about her experience in such detail that I feel like I am experiencing it with her. She is in her mid-20's and dealing with losing a parent. I cannot imagine this thought - I don't know what I would do. I like the book but I almost find myself looking forward to being done with it because it's difficult to read.

3. The theme that strikes me most right now in the book is desperation. Robin is experiencing desperation at the thought of losing her mom. Her mom is also experiencing desperation because she is in so much physical and emotional pain.

4. Right now my favorite character is the dog Mercy. It seems strange to have a dog as your favorite character, unless you've read Marley and Me. :) Mercy just adds the presence of unconditional love and comfort to her owner and it makes me feel like I'm appreciating her for that.

5. My least favorite character is Robin's boyfriend. He's not a bad guy but you can tell he's having a really hard time dealing with the situation. He is not able to be the person that Robin needs him to be.

6. Because this is a memoir that covers only 3 weeks, I can only imagine that Robin's mom will continue to get worse. I hope for her that she will be able to find some peace and comfort in this process.

1. right now in my book corporal Perry has just come back from a vietcong ambush. Most of his squadron was wiped out and some of his best friends were injured thank god there where no casualties. he was just in the hospital earlier when a grenade blew up causing shrapnel to puncture his leg. he has been hoping for the war to end and wants to see his younger brother Kenny back in Harlem and each day could be a day he dies.

2. I feel like this is a very good book since I am a big World war fan and discusses the Vietnam War which you dont usually find many books of that war. it is possibly a tribute to the many soldiers fighting for our country and those who died.

3. the main theme in this book is courage. I think this since Perry is a seventeen year old in a war and he needs to be in his game or he will die and let his whole squad down.

4. My favorite character is Lieutenant Carrol. He is my favorite since he was headstrong and smart and could never make a military escape sadly he was killed when the squad was dug in on the main line but he was the best they ever had as a commander.

5. my least favorite character is peewe. he is always being a joker/comedian and in a war I dont really like that and he doesnt really do much in the book.

6. I predict that Perry's injuries will subside and he will be back in the war or even shipped back into the new world.

1.Right now in my book the main character is having trouble keeping his baseball team together. His coach is getting old and people always jeer him when hes on the field. i can feel like he does because my dad got heckled a few times. His baseball team is doing good though the chemistry in the team is decreasing

2.right now i feel the book is lacking detail. I feel that it would be better with some action or twists that are unsuspected. I love baseball a lot so it's really easy for me to read about something i like. I look at the main character a good pitcher as me in the future

3.the theme of the book so far i would say that it would be a desperate sport team. the team is struggling with the coach how hes considering leaving and there has been threats towards him

4.My favorite character is chip hilton. hes a pitcher in his league. Hes like me beeing a pitcher in his league.hes really supportive of his team and is really passionate about what he does.

5. the jeerers are my least favorite people in this book. they are calling names to all the valley falls players. the are trying to get the old coaches position. they always show up to the game and sometimes mess the whole team up. I hate all of them

6. What i think will happen next is that the jeerers will eventually overcome the old c oach and finally get his position. i hope this doesnt happen but im afraid it will

1. In my book the main character Mia got into a car accident on a snow day with her family (dad, mom, brother, her) her mom and dad were killed and she dosnt know where her brother is. Right now she is a spirit watching her body in operation and resting after operation. She walks around the lobby looking at her family waiting for any news.

2. I like this book because it keeps me interested and I want to know what happens next. I think its interesting how she can walk around and see everything while shes in acoma.

3. The theme of the book so far seems to be family and friendship. Each chapter goes back and forth between stories of her life that have already happend and things that are going on now. The stories about things going on now seem to all rotate around her family and how her family dosn't know about her boyfriend and how she isnt sure if he will find out about her state. The stories from the past are about her friends and school mostly. Such as experiences that she's had and how she plays cello and is going to Julliard.

4. I like the little brother even though he isnt in the story much. I like him because he reminds me of my little brothers how jumpy and excited he is. Also the little brother in the book likes pancakes and my brother really likes pancakes and will go insane whenever someone will make them for him.

5. My least favorite character is the Dad. I dont like him because he is like a wanna be cool dad. He used to be in a punk-rock band so hes all like "what up dawg" and other things like that. I would hate to have him as my father because it would annoy me so much.

6. I think she is going to find someone she can talk to. Probably just some random person that can see her; and the story will be about how she gets the person to do things for her and Mia survives.

1. Right now in my book the main charecter is having trouble with her father leaving to help with World War II. Her grandmothers friend's nephew is staying with them until the war is over. The main charecter does not think Albert the nephew likes her. The main charecter is trying to deal with everything that is going on.

2. I think that the book is good. It is about World War II which is always hard to read but they are not talking about what is happening in the war they are talking about how the people are dealing with the war and loss of people they love.

3. The theme in this book is friendship. I noticed the theme in the main charechter because her best friend moves away and she is trying to make new friend s but is struggling.

4. Lily the main person is my favorite charecter because she is struggling making friends and everyone can relate to that. she is also delaing with a lot of thngs like her dad leaving and living with her grandma who she does not get along with. I just feel bad for Lily all to gether and it is interesting to see how she handles everything.

5.I do not have a lest favorite charecter because there are only three real charecters in my book.

6. I think that Lily the main charecter will becomes friends with Albert and they will share secrets and Lily might tell osmeone by accident and get Albert in trouble.

117 1) My charecter Sophit is shopping for dresses at a mall for a dance that she does not want to attend.

2) I like my book a lot. It has a lot of action going on, and there is never anytime during the book when there isn't a conflict. The characters are all good people. they have a lot to say, and in the end they always seem to be able to learn they're lesson.

3) I think a huge theme in the book what my mother doesn't know is to not judge a book by its cover, because once you get to know them they are always a different person than you thought out to be.

4) My favorite charecter is the main charecter Sophie. I like her because i think she knows how its feels to have gone through struggle. Her parents are having fighting issues and i think that takes a huge affect on her. But shes really good at leaving it behind, and focusing on her own life.

5) I think Dylan Sophies boyfriend is my least favorite charecter. H doesnt pay attention to her very much, and i think he uses her a lot. Dylan doesn't make Sophie feel special, and i think that is really important in a relationship.

6) I think that Sophie will end up breaking up with her current boyfriend Dylan and go out with someone else that makes her happier. And i think she will learn to not care about what other people think, and follow her heart.

3. The theme of the book is outdoors and always making stuff and basically about being on the water like building ships and going fishing.

4. my least favorite character is the mom because it seems like she doesnt care about it

1. Right now, the mission of becoming friends with the son of the guy who deals cocaine all across the UK has just started. James, the main character, has just taught Junior (son of cocaine dealer), how to steal from a store in an unlikely gamestore-theft.

2. I feel that this will be a great thriller throughout the book. I didn't expect how fast the book would start, I thought it would go slowly in the beginning and when the mission started. I expected a slow-drag through the mission.

3. The theme is this book is that kids, when they are young, are taken to CHERUB and trained for missions later in their life. The theme shows how lots of small kids can really help out. A smaller, less visible theme is that if you deal drugs, they will find you!

4. My favorite character is Junior, because he's cool and he's funny sometimes. I think Junior, over the next few pages of the book, will develop, because right now, he looks like he's the main character.

5. My least favorite character is Kerry because she makes fun of James, and that wasn't nice. I also don't like how she's always looking at the down side, like when she was complaining in the car.

6. I think next, James will keep be-friending Junior so that he can get information about the cocaine business his dad runs.

1- In Ender's Game right now Ender just got promoted to the salamander battle group. Ender is the youngest and smallest in the group and they wont let him train with them in the battle room or anything. In fact the leader wants to trade him to another group. However his newly acquired friend Petra is going to train him privatley, she isnt the best but she is a very good shooter.
2- I thought that the book was a little slow and confusing at the beginning but now that im getting into it i really like it. It is interesting and i can make connections to playing sports with older kids. I can also relate to Ender because im not the biggest kid but im pretty good at doing things so we are alike. The book has interesting characters and is taking plot twists, like right as Ender is making friends in his launch group he gets promoted.
3- The main theme that I have been noticing in this book is brains beats broad. I say this because Ender in bogh his battle and launch group is the smallest and youngest. He is currently in a group with 10-11 year olds however he is only 6, this is the equivelent of a kindergardner being with 4th graders. Ender gets promoted not because he is good at fighting because he is supposed to be a really good planner and he hsa good tactics and they want him to lead an army one day.
4- My favorite character has to be Ender because he is small and tough. He is a 6 year old in outer space seperated from his mom dad sister and brother but he wont let 1 tear come out, ever. To put a 6 year old in that position has to be pretty tough. He also takes being with older kids as a challenge not just being scared the whole time which would certainly be hard for the average kid.
5- My least favorite character is probably the leader of the salamnader group. He is cruel, harsh and unforgiving the one girl in the group made a small complaint and he slapped her and her face started bleeding. He also just doesnt seem the like the kind of person that anyone would want to be around because he seems like he has no sense of humor or anything. However in his defense it is a military school and he has to be like that I just think that he is taking it over the edge a little bit.
6- I think that Ender will get good at combat because Petra is training him and then he will somehow get better at his commanding and strategy skills. After that he will get promoted to an even higher group I dont no what though.

1. The authors are just about to debate who is the worst manager in Red Sox history.
2. I have really enjoyed this, it is not very hard to read and I enjoy what they are talking about. I love Boston sports so I can basically fly through this book.
3. The theme of my favorite chapter,Who is Bostons best All-Time Player?,would probably be perseverence, they talked about how hard it is too be an athlete and what they go through to be what thye are.
4. In the chapter I mentioned above I would say that Bill Russell is the best athlete of all time in Boston, because basketball is such a tough sport to be good at day after day, it takes such a tole on your body.
5. My least favortite athlete they've mentioned so far is probably Johny Damon, because he betrayed the Red SOx by going straight to the yankees.
6. I think that they are going to say that Don Zimmer is the worst manager of the red sox ever.

1. Right now in my book the main character is being held in a women's house. She has read all of his books and is nursing him back to health after a vicious car accident. Right now the he needs to be on a pain killer, otherwise he would go through an excruciating amount of pain. Annie ( the crazy women holding paul in her house) read Paul;s manuscript for one of his other books "Fast Cars". She came back angry and frustrated because of how the boy in the book swears too much. She then Through soup in the corner of the room and refused to give paul his pain killers.

2. I'm scared because the book started out just like a harmless book and then later in the night while paul is sleeping she comes in to his room wondering why the main character in Paul's Misery books is dead. She than panics and makes paul re-write the ending.

3. Right now the theme of the book i think is misery. Considering that the man has both of his legs broken and the women trying to nurse him back to health is a crazed psycho which for some people might just be a tuesday afternoon but I think it would be miserable.

4. Right now my favorite character is Annie. I like her because she is just such a awkward character. I also like her because of how at one time she can be so nice and generous and a second later she will snap and start to put pressure on his broken legs.

5. My least favorite character is Paul. Not because i don't like him it's just that right now he's the only other character in the book. I don't like him as much as Annie because he isn't as much of an interesting character.

6. I predict that Annie will make paul re-write and re-write the ending. Even if it's good she'll just want another reason to keep him in her house.

1.What is going on in my book is Dylan Marvil and her mom are going to Hawaii for the Aloha Tennis open. While Dylan is there she finds a boy taht she really likes. She thinks that he is really into her and everything. He likes girls that can play tennis. Dylan got a video of the tennis pro Svetlana, who is about to play in the Aloha open, fighting Dylan and being really mean. Dylan threatend to show it to the public unless Svetlana taught her how to play tennis, do her wardrobe, and some other things. So Svetlana is doing everything she is told to do.

2. I don't think this book is bad i just don't like it as much as some of the other books in the series. I don't see the point of this book. Dylan dosent acomplish anything in the time she is in Hawaii.

3. The theme in this book is complicated relationships. The theme is that because Dylan and J.T.'s relationship is not the best and easiest that a relationship could be.

4. My favorite charecter would probally be J.T. because he is kind , and not gullible. Dylan was trying to make Svetlana make Dylan look better than her but J.T knew that something was up.

5. My least favorite charecter in this book would have to be Dylan. I say that because Dylan was being a witch. She was bullying Svetlana just so she could impress J.T. I don't understand why she wouldn't just tell him the truth, i think that he would have undersood and thanked her for being honest.

6. The end of the book was not what i expected at all. I thought that she would have left Hawaii without a boyfriend, without any friends, and been heartbroken. The ending was suprisingly better then what it should have been.

1. Right now, the main character of my book is wandering around London, searching for answers on how to defeat his enemy and stay alive. He is also preparing for a challenge that he has been told to have to face very soon. His friend has gone missing, and he is getting very stressed about finding her.

2. I am finding myself enjoying this book because of the way that the writing flows seamlessly from one page to another. Also, this book is the long-awaited third book in a series that I like. I feel that the plot is strong and enjoyable.

3. The theme in this book seems to focus around many things to do and enemies to thwart for the main character. He is not always ready for what might happen, but he tries anyway. The theme seems to be courage. This is shown in the many battles he faces against stronger enemies.

4. My favorite character is the Gunner, for the reason that he befriends the main character right away and is really almost like a father to him. After only a few days of knowing the main character, he was willing to sacrifice himself for him.

5. My least favorite character is Edie, because her impulsiveness and rash decisions often put herself and others in danger.

6. I predict that very soon the final battle of the book is going to happen, and also possibly an unexpected thing

He was given the mission to kill his old boss,Mrs. Jones. He fails at this mission and MI6 is bringing him back to help them solve their latest crisis involving Scorpia. Alex seems flustered and confused because he doesn't know which side he should choose.

2. I like this book and I am finding it very easy to read because it is about things that I enjoy. It has a lot of action and adventure and suspense which makes it more exciting to read. The only problem I have with this book is that although its in this world it doesn't seem realistic enough.

3. I think that a theme in this book is decisions. Its rare in life to have to make a decision that will actually change your life and it seems as though Alex has to make one of those. But if you look closer, on whichever side he chooses he will do the same thing, kill.

4. My favorite character is a Scorpia Operative Nile. He seems very open and friendly with Alex and as though genuinely likes him. He's also portrayed as pretty honest, although I don't doubt that this will change in the future.

5. My least favorite character is Mrs. Jones, she plays a small pat in the book, but when she talks to Alex it feels like she's playing him or manipulating him and his mind almost like a brainwash.

6. I predict Alex will yet again switch sides and help MI6 defeat Scorpia and their plan. He may end up escaping both of them but he will in some way again become wrapped up in this and will have o choice but to help.

3. The theme in this book is survival because it is all about the Sahara Desert, going to the Arctic circle, and climbing Mount Everest. Most people die, and some do really weird things to survive.

4. My favorite character is Roald Amundsen because he was racing to get to the North Pole before British explorers. While the British used snowmobiles and cheated, Roald played fair and used sled dogs. Even though many people on his crew died, he stayed positive.

5. My least favorite character is frederik cook, who lied about going to the north pole and claiming victory against Amundsen. I don't like people that lie about an accomplishment.

She just had to take part in a humiliating event against her BEST FRIEND because her friend didn't follow one of the main rules don't talk to the new kids!

2. I can relate to how she feels sometimes in certain ways wich helps me get a better under standing of the book. At times its sad though to see the mean things these girls do to each other. I definetly think it is one of my favorite books because i can never predict its twists and turns.

3. I think the theme in the book is figuring out your self and doing the right thing. I see it alot in Penelope she is so confused about her identidy she sometimes makes bad decisions. I think once she figures out her self she will be able to make better desitions.

4. My favorite character is Tilly who understands that what the popular croud is doing is wrong but she knows how to confront it and deal with it the right way. She is Penelopes best friend and the one Penelope had to take part in humiliating. I think tilly can teach Penelope alot.

5. Pia is definetly my least favorite character she is mean and cruel, selfish and nasty. She picks on everyone and orders around her friends and commands the schools worship to her.

6. I think Penelope will realize the popular croud is mean and will become better friends with Tilly. Hopefully then Tilly and Penelope can combine to beat he popular croud and make the school a friendlier and over all better place.

1. In my book there are two stories going on about 2 guys 15, and 17 years old. They are on either side of World War II. The American is named Spence and he is a paratrooper. He has just finished basic training and now he is about to enter the war for the first time. The other main character Dietrich is a 15 year old in Nazi Germany. Since he was 10 he served in HJ (Hitler Youth) and he is now a soldier. He has just had his first battle and killed his first american.

2. I think this book is very intresting because we learned alittle about World War II last year but we never really saw it from the eyes of and American and a German soldier. It's very informative about how alienated the Nazis were and how they'd do anything for their country.

3. The theme in this book so far is perservence because Spence and his freind Ted really wanted to quit basic training, because it was so hard and awful. But they both stuck with it. Now they have what they wanted. Also Dietrich was working very hard on one of his HJ projects. It was fortifying the West wall of Germany. No matter how grueling it became he didn't quit. And now he has been promoted to a soldier.

4. My favorite character is Spence. This is because he is going into this war for all the right reasons. He knows it is his duty to serve and protect his country. It was not easy for him to join the war because his family are Mormons and don't beleive in violence. But he knew it was the right thing to do.

5. My least favorite character is Dietrich because he is headstrong, cocky, and blindly devoted to hitler. He never does what his fellow soldiers tell him to do,like disobeying direct orders to "Get Down!", which will get him killed. He thinks he can boss people around, including his own parents, because he is part of HJ. And he would have to be pretty dumb to not see through what hitler was doing.

6. Next I think Spence and Dietrich are going to experience what real war is like. It will totally not be what they expected it to be. And they will both want to leave immeaditley. I also think that they will meet up (maybe in battle) and the stories will come together.

2. I like the book so far because of how adventurous the main character. He is very young but he is very brave. I love stories of adventure and survival.

3. The theme is is adventure because they are little kids and they are sailing across the Gulf of Mexico in a little canoe. I noticed this as soon as their town was attacked and they had to run away and they were on the run until they reached the Gulf of Mexico.

4. My favorite character is Santiago because he is very adventurous and brave. I like how even how annoying his sister is and how she keeps eating food without his permission, that he still loves her and looks out for her.

5. There aren't many characters in the book but my least favorite character is Santiago's sister because she doesn't want to believe in the seriousness of the situation. Also she keeps eating food without Santiago's permission. She just makes the whole situation worse.

6. I think next they will get stuck on an island without any food and water because of a storm. Also I think they will survive barely and make it to the United States.

1) well in the book it was bellas birthday and she was opening her present she got a paper cut and edward couldnt control him self so he left forks so bella was devaestaed and then she became freinds with jacob and they ride motercyles togeather and she keeps hearing edwards voice..and then she finds out jacob is a werewolf..

2)this book is actually good i like how it makes you want to read more.and it keeps me intrested and makign me ask questions.

3) the books has alot of theme but i think friend ship happens alot with bella and jacob. in the books it tells you that bella and jacob spent alot of time togeather while edward left.. but its also romance or love because bella started to notice that jacob started liking her but bella only liked him in a freind way but on the other hand edward only left because he thought it was for the best. so it shows he care and loves her.

4) i dont really have a favorite character but from twilight and new moon i liked edward alot because he was the vampire that kills people and is mean he was afriendly and nice toward humans which was nice and he never harmed any unless they were harming him or bella.

5) well they dont say much about her in new moon but in twilgit(which are the same characters) i didnt like rosline because she was bossy and seemed like a princess and she was better then you. which i felt didnt really do much to the story..

6) i think bella will beg edward to change her into a vampire so she can live with him forever or somthign bad happens between bella and edward im not sure though.

Body:

1. At the moment Bella and Edward have decided to get married and just finished the ceremony. Now they are on their way to their honeymoon, and Bella has no idea where they going. As of now they got off the plane and are now in Brazil and heading somewhere in the car.

2. I've been enjoying this book so far. Already reading Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse has really helped me understand what is occuring in the book. Although, at the beginning it took a litle while to get good because the author kind of summarizes the other books up to this one. I'm very interested to see what happens next!

3. I think the theme of this book is probably pashionate love. In this book two oppisites, a human and a vampire, fall madly in love. It really shows how no matter what, the dangers and possibilities, they still love each other and nothing can break that bond. Not even a best friend.

4. My favorite character would have to be either Alice or Emmet. Alice is Edward's sister, she's very independent and a strong person. She seems like she really cares for the well being of others. Emmet is also one of Edward's siblings. He's very laid back and outgoing. Both of them seem like very cool people and I really like reading about them.

5. I don't really have a least favorite but as of right now I'm not a very big fan of Edward. I think he should have stayed away from Forks after he left in New Moon. Then Bella and Jacob could've been together and that way Bella could stay human. Also she could go to college and not have to leave all her loved ones.

6. My prediction is that Bella is going to become pregnant and have little vampire babies. I also think that once Bella becomes a vampire she and Jacob are going to realize that they came still be freinds. Then all the vampires, humans, and werwolves will be able to live peacefully together in Forks.

1. Right now, in my book, one boy and one girl which are in their middle ages, did up their fathers grave. This is what happened in the very beginning so I was a little confused why they were digging their fathers grave in a random patch of grass. They dug it several feet deep to prevent the coffin being washed away from the storm coming soon. When they reached 7 feet they slowly placed the coffin in the hole, put the dirt back in, and left.

2. So far as a start, I think the book's so far great. Sometimes, books start off with boring beginnings which make readers tend to stop reading the book but not this one. This book started off with the two people putting their dads body into a 7 foot hole dead, which makes me wonder. Why did he die? I have several unanswered questions just waiting to be answered.

3. So far the theme in the book Mudbound is depressing and sad. The whole beginning of the book was all about there time digging the hole, being tired and hungry, and cold. The storm was coming fast, and they had to get out of there. It seems they are slaves in South maybe, but I'm still not sure. The book hasn't given me enough information in order to make that inference.

4. Right now I'd say my favorite character is Henry. Even though they were digging their fathers grave it seems that Henry was in a good mood, and based on the other instances, it seems Henry is always in a good mood. Where as Jamie, has already gotten mad during the course of the book.

5. My least favorite character would probably have to be Laura, Henry's wife. She has a nasty personality and cranky attitude. She spoke about her husband's fathers death disrespectfully around her kids and Henry wasn't there to notice it. I hope one day when Laura says one those comments Henry is there to hear.

6. I think that next something might happen with the huge storm and maybe a flood will occur. Or maybe I'll find out that Henry and Jamie are both slaves in the South.

1. Right now in my book, the main character Bella is having a difficult time with her relationship with Edward because of Bella's dad Charlie. He does not want Bella to be spending all her time with him and Charlie thinks they are getting very serious which he doesnt like. Also she has not been able to spend much time with her old friend Jacob who is a werewolf because vampires and werewolfs dont like each other. Finally Bella has a vampire named Victoria that is trying to kill her.

2. I like this book because there is a lot of action going right now between relationships, vampires, and werewolfs. It is keeping my attention, and it is exciting to see what is going to happen.

3. The theme in this book is romance or difficult relationships. I notice this theme because alot is about Bella and Edwards relationship and how they are having a hard time being together because of Charlie and werewolfs.

4. Bella is my favorite character because she is brave and because she is on almost every page of the book so I have gotten to know this character very well. Also she is different then all the other girls in her grade because she likes hanging out with vampires and werewolfs so that makes her more interesting then the others.

5. Charlie is my least favorite character because he is getting between Bella and Edwards relationship and making it hard for them to be together. Also his character seems alittle boring to me because he doesnt do much in the book.

6. I predict that Victoria will come back and will hurt Bella and Edward and Jacob will help protect her because they are vampires and werewolfs.

2.So far the book is interesting- but its hard to read when they talk about the symptoms of the fever.

3.the theme right now is probably survival- because obviously matilda dosen't want to die of the fever, and she doesn't want any of her friends or family to die. she will do anything to keep them and her alive.

4.right now my favorite character would probably be the grandfather, because he is so indiferent to the fever and always talking about how he survived fighting the brits, so he would definitely survive the fever.

5.my least favorite character is mr. Rowley, who is an imposter. he pertends to be a doctor and goes aroung perscribing people who have yellow fever with other, less harmful deseases, and then asking for money.

6.i think the grandfather will get sick with the fever, and matilda will have to deal with it by herself.

1.Ned Vizzini is in his Sophomore year in high school after he studied extremely hard in 8th grade to get into the best Hich School in NYC, Stuyvesant. After that he became pretty much a geek, he can't talk to girls and spends his time in the corner playing a game called Magic which to everyone is a loser game. It's around Christmas time and he just went to the flea market but again, he couldn't make a bargain like his bestfriend Ike or hist little brother, Daniel, could.

2. Im particularly enjoying this book as if I would a fantasy, horror or Sci-fi book. It is very easy to read using only very easily understood vocabulary. It however is not a book for elementary students. However The stories in this book are real however he didn't give the actual names of people and, he didn't tell about his entire life just from the end of 7th grade to his life right now. Ned Vizzini is 19 years old and a very good author.

3. The theme in this book right now I believe is: Don't try to be older than you really are. I think that because, in all parts of the story where he tries to be older than he really is, it just is a complete disaster.

4. Ned is definitely my favorite charecter since he is the only person that is focused on for a long period of time. All the other charecters come into the story and then fade away.

5. I don't have a least favorite charecter becasue all of them seem pretty nice and never stick around for a long time.

6. I think that Ned, since in the story he started writing for the New York Times, will get promoted and then get the writing contract after he graduates.

1. Right now in my book, Alicia, her new friends, and her ex-friends are in Manhattan on their way to a photo shoot. Alicia is feeling frustrated because so far the trip has been horrible for her, but everything is going perfectly for her ex-best friend Massie, who is getting all the attention. Alicia left Massie's tight circle of friends and started her own clique because she was tired of having Massie always get all the attention. However, Alicia doesn't like her new clique nearly as much as being in Massie's group of friends and wants to be friends with Massie again, but doesn't want to admit it.

2. This book is really easy to read because I know almost all the words so far. Even though I can't really relate to the book because their lives are so different from mine, it's still a somewhat enjoyable book to read because there are many funny and unique situations that occur. However, it's not the best book I've read because I was shocked in many situations about how mean and bratty some of the girls can be.

3. A theme that I've noticed so far is jealousy. It seems that so often there is a girl who is jealous of another. For example, at the beginning of the book Alicia was jealous of her best friend Massie because Massie always got all the attention. This is what lead Alicia to start her own clique.

4. My favortie character is Claire, the new girl in town with overalls and Keds, which is not how most people dress in Westchester, the town that the book takes place in. She's my favorite because she is the most down-to-earth girl in the book, the one who doesn't obsess about wheter or not they have the newest line of fall fashion. She's unique, different, and stands out from everyone else.

5. My least favortie character is Massie, because even though she cares deeply about her best friends, sometimes she will make them feel bad just to make herself feel better. Massie sometiems takes complete power and control, telling her friends what to do, like who they can or can't hang out with. Also, jealousy is too big of a part of her charachter.

6. I think Alicia is going to realize how much she really misses her old best friends and that she really wants them back. Massie will probably think the same about Alicia, and they will make up and become best friends again. Also, Alicia will realize how hard it is for Massie to be the "alpha", even though she makes it seem so easy.

2. This book is a perfect read for me. That is beacause i love baseball and reading about the achievements of amazing players in baseball history.
3. The theme i chose is called Great Upsets. I chose this theme because i love when the team that is a heavy favorite to lose ends up winning anyways. For example when the Red Sox came from down 3-0 in a series and ended up beating the yankees in the deciding game 7 being their fourth consecutive win in a row to make to the world series. Where the beat the cardinals for their first championship in 86 years
4. My favorite charecter so far is Babe Ruth. This is because he in my book the games all-time best hitter. He has the third most home-runs in a career at 714 only behind Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron
5. My least favorite charecter in the book so far is Barry Bonds. That is because he used steroids and now has the most homeruns in a career by any other player so i think the only reason he got there was by cheating
6. My prediction for my next chapter which is great pitchers is that Babe Ruth, Sandy Koufax, and Nolan Ryan will be talked about.

1. In my book right now, the author is describing where the women in the Price family end up. Ruth May just died so they all got up to leave. Leah got sick from malaria on the way so she had to stay behind with Anatole, who she wants to marry. She decides to stay in the Congo with Anatole. Rachel left first with Eeben Axelroot to Johannesburg. Then Ada and Orleanna go back to Georgia, but they move out of town because they are the center of gossip. Ada goes to college and Orleanna is slightly crazy and plants flowers all of the place because Nathan would not let them.

2. I really like this book except that I found it hard to read quietly because Nathan (the father) irritates me so much. Especially the dictator like way he lives in his home. He also always thinks he is right and never acts like something surprises him. If he is proven wrong, he acts like he knew it all along.

3. The theme I found that was most prominent was standing up for yourself. In two thirds of the book all of the Prices do exactly what Mr. Price (Nathan) tells them to do. At first they all believe he is right. Then they don't like it, but don't dare say anything and then finally they are all openly against him and eventually leave.

4. My favorite character in the book (right now) is Ada (it would be Ruth May but she is dead now). Ada has hemiplegia so she cannot run or walk very fast but she is very, very smart and chooses not to talk until the end of the book. She is a nice person and she likes Emily Dickinson and writing backwards. She is very good at learning languages also.

5. My least favorite character is definitely Nathan. He does not seem to have a heart. He is trying to convince the Congolese people to become Christian but none of them want to. The few that come are simply outcasts from the village although Nathan pretends he doesn't know that. He treats his family terribly and when they leave he does not follow or try to make them come back, or even communicate with them.

6 . I think that the author will illustrate the rest of the family's future- although I do not think she will write anymore about Nathan because the whole book is from the perspective of the daughters and the mother. However, I do not think that the Prices will reunite for a while, if ever.

However, it is really because he knows someone in the plant is trying to sell it to a company, but he knows this will only offend the soldier and he won't shut down the plant if he tells him this.
2. This book is an action/adventure book full of suprises and will keep you on your toes. I am not very far into the book, but I can still see how far the conspiracy branches out.
3. I would say the theme of this book is passive-aggressiveness. The agents need to deal with the Russian government in a respectful manner but if this cannot workk they are prepared to use force.
4. My favorite character is Jon Smith. The reason for this is because he always knows what to do in high pressure situations. For example, when his contact was killed, he immedientley found cover which kept him alive. This kind of quick thinking saved his life.
5. My least favorite character is one of the head people in the U.S. military. Everyone respects him but little do they know he is actually in the plot to get the smallpox and do something with it I have yet to find out. This annoys me.
6. I think that the soldier will agree the shut the plany down but the scheemers will still find a way to get the smallpox and the soldier will get angry at Jon Smith and not listen to him again.

1. Right now in my book, the main character Harry Potter just discovered some very big news. He was serving detention in the forbidden forest, when all of sudden he saw a dark cloaked figure drinking blood from a dead unicorn. The cloaked figure could have killed Harry, but a centaur name Firenze saved Harry. Firenze later told Harry that the cloaked figure was indeed Lord Voldemort. Harry put some puzzle pieces together and now believes that Voldemort is after the Sorcerer's Stone. He thinks that his least favorite teacher, Snape, is trying to get the stone for Voldemort, so that he can once again rise to power.

2. I love the Harry Potter series and no matter how many times I read them I will still love them. I find this book enjoyable as it always is. But in parts I seem to get bored because the first book isn't as thrilling as some of the other books in the series. I have also read this book before, so I think i enjoyed the book more the first time I read it. But I am finding that the book is much better and more detailed than the movie, which I had watched recently.

3. I noticed two themes in this book so far. One of the themes is friendship. I think this is one of the themes because Harry never really knew what friends were. Up until he was 11 he was only bullied and had no one to rely on. But when he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry he found his first ever true friends that he loved and trusted. Another theme I noticed is bravery. Harry is very brave in this book. He breaks the rules and goes against evil magic and evil people. He gets in a lot of trouble for being brave but he knows its worth it , because he wants to save other people. It's very extraordinary that Harry is so brave because he is Voldemort's main target and he's only a young eleven year old who is a first year at Hogwarts.
An example of these themes is in a sentence Hermione says " Books and cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery and - oh Harry..." (p.287.)

4. I don't really have one specific favorite character. But in the first book I really like Harry Potter I guess. I like his look of life and all his qualities. He's smart, brave, kind, happy, positive, and just altogether a great person.

5.My least favorite characters are Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy. I dislike Snape because I have prior knowledge of him from the other books, and I think he should be much nicer to Harry. He's always rude and mean to Gryffindors but mostly he picks on Harry. It's really unnecessary and Snape has no reason to hate Harry. In fact, from prior knowledge, I would except Snape to like Harry. I also dislike Malofy because like in every book there is a jerk, and that's Malfoy. Who likes the jerks in books anyway? Malfoy is just a nasty cruel student who bullies Harry, and other students at Hogwarts.

6. I can't really make a prediction to what is happening next because I have already read the Harry Potter series. But I know that what is coming up is great and suspenseful.

2. I am finding this book easy to read and hard to put down so far. It is about everyday life for girls so it really interests me. I enjoy reading this book so far.

3. The theme so far in the book i think is friendship because it matters most about friendship and helping friends out in time of need.

4. My favorite character in the book is Shannon; the main character, Zoe's friend. I like her because she strikes me as most interesting. She always knows what to say and never says something bad. She always makes Zoe laugh and she helped her a lot on the break up.

5. My least favorite character is Zoe's other friend; Julia. I don't like her because I think she brings Zoe down. 1. Right now, the main characters, Roy, Beatrice, and Mullet Fingers are in a dilemma because of a confusion at a hospital the night before. They went to the hospital because Mullet Fingers was bitten by a dog when he went by a future chain pancake house site. Since Mullet Fingers had run away from his family, his step-sister, Beatrice, is concerned about the police finding him, so they used Roy's name instead of Mullet Fingers' name. Roy's parents came by and he ended up in trouble for allowing someone else to use his name. After explaining the whole story to his parents, they realized it was the right thing to do, and explained about how to make choices in life to him. He thought to himself that he did do the right thing that night.

2. I like the message of this book, and it's easy to read because of the way the author wrote it. It's also very easy to relate to in that they're about the same age as us, and part of the book takes place when they're at school. The language the author uses is good, but not hard, and he gives good detail about the situations. One of the themes in this book is helping the environment, and they're doing the right thing, but the adults around them (the main characters being 13 or 14) can't see that they are. They found that the future site of the pancake house is on top of a nesting place of burrowing owls, so they don't want them to dig up the site and ruin the birds' home.

3. A large theme of the book that I've noticed is helping the environment. I notice this theme throughout the book, but especially once Roy meets Beatrice and Mullet Fingers and finds out that the site will probably kill a lot of these birds. At one point, Mullet Fingers and Beatrice take Roy to the site and show him the owls that the company will be digging up. He realized that they were doing the right thing. The characters are not super-environmental, but they care about the animals and their welfare, and for good reason too.

4. My favorite character in the book is Roy. He's a character that's easy to like. He's had a hard time in his childhood because his father works for the government, and his job has them moving from place to place fairly often. He finally felt settled in when they lived in Montana, but, they found out they'd have to move again, this time to a town in Florida called Coconut Cove. His personality is good. The book says he's not that tall, and not big, but he fights for himself and does the right thing. He gets bullied on the bus by a large kid named Dana Matherson. He's had his head squished against windows, nearly choked, assaulted in a closet, just to mention a few. He's a nice guy that's just trying to fit in and meet new friends. He gets in trouble for all the wrong reasons and he gets unlucky because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

5. My least favorite character is Curly, the watchmen on the Mother Paula's Pancake House construction site. Mullet Fingers, unbeknownst to Curly, dug up stakes, put alligators in toilets, and put poisonous snakes on his property. The way Curly deals with these things is not really good. He calls the police, but he has no real evidence that there was a crime committed. The officer becomes annoyed, and Curly, when some of these events get published in a local paper, receives a lot of negative feedback from his boss, a man named Chuck Muckle. Curly just wants to keep his job, but he could definitely handle the problems a different way.

6. I've already read this book, so I actually know what's going to happen next. So, I can't really make a prediction.

Harry and Hermione are there because the Weasley's got tickets to the World Cup and they invited Harry and Hermione to come too.

2. Right now I am enjoying the book even though not to much is happening. The major problems that are going to happen in the book haven't been really introduced yet. I am looking forward to when the go to the World Cup and expetually when they get to Hogwarts. I really like fantasy books, it is problebly my favorite genre, and I really like reading books with such developed and deep charactors.

3. Right now the theme would be reconnecting. I am not very far into the book and at this part in the book everyone is seeing each for the first time in a couple months. Harry is having fun and getting ready to go to the World Cup with his friends.

4. Ron is my favorite charactor. Funny things seem to happen to him a lot. Already, he got a little, extremly energetic, owl who his little sister named Pigwigean, and he could get it to answer to anything else, so ended up just calling his owl, pig.

5. My least favorite charactor is Voldemort, He is terrible. He killed Harry's parents and in this book he talked about a witch he killed Bertha, and killed an old muggle man, Frank. He doesn't even feel any guilt for those and many other murders he has commited. All he cares about is power. He is down right horrible.

2. I am enjoying this book because I find the Andrea funny and I love all the crazy things that Miranda has Andrea do. I also like it because it is based around a fashion magazine and since I am into fashion, it's interesting to me.
3. One theme in this book would be perseverence. She knows that she needs to stay with Miranda because it is a way to get her dream job at the New Yorker.

5. My least favorite character is Alex, her boyfriend, because he is not very understanding to Andrea's situation. Sher doesn't have a lot of time to spend with her so he keeps getting cranky and mad at her.
6. I think that next in the book, Andrea will decide to stay in Paris for a few more days since it won't do any good seeing Lily in a coma. I think that Lily will come out of the coma soon and she will be able to get better.

In one scene they go Go-Kart racing on the track at Paul Drevin's house and Alex goes on the track with Nikolai Drevin, Paul's Father. When they are racing Drevin starts to bump him from behing and almost killls the both of them. When Alex uses his brain he cheats (sort of) and wins the race. Drvin approaches him and is furious and it shows that Drevin also has a bad side.

2. I feel that the book is very exciting because it is full of action and suspense. In one scene some people kidnapped Alex and he uses quick thinking to get out of the place where they were keeping him.

3. The theme in the book so far is taking risks. Alex is most certainly a risk taker and does crazy stuff like turing on an MRI machine and killing a man with alot of metal on him.

4. My favorite character is Alex RIder because he can do alot of cool stunts and is very talented at various sports and is basically a model child.

5. My least favorite character is Nikolai Drevin because he seems the most suspicious and that he has a mean streak.

6. I think that Alex is going to snoop around the mansion and get into more trouble involving him escaping somewhere and finding out who is really behind the kidnapping.

1. Right now in my book, Bobby Is stuck on Ibara with Saint Dane. Bobby is helping to re-build the city of Rayne after Saint Dane tried to distroy it using DADOs. Both of them just finished having a discussion, in which Saint Dane told Bobby, the fight was almost over, even though both of them are trapped on Ibara. Meanwhile Courtney, Mark and Patrick, the Traveler from Third Earth are on Second Earth, trying to figure out what happened that caused changes on Third Earth. I did not read far enough to find details.

2. I like this book a lot. It is interesting enough to grab my attention for me to want to readit, which is critical, if I want to like a book. I like MacHale's writing style, it flows nicely, making it easier to read, so you are not caught on the words. In general, I like fiction, so this book is interesting to me.

3. A theme in Raven Rise so far would be friendship, especially between, Courtney and Mark. When Mark was not able to distroy "Forge", he went into a state of depression. Courtney was the one who really helped him through that tough time and convinced him to be happy, and that it was not all his fault. Mark felt better after that and moved on.

4. My favorite character right now is Patrick. For being new to the "Traveler" business and see his home panet in ruins, he is taking it quite well. He did not hide in his house, he went to get help and wants to be part of the adventure. i also like his attitude towards it all.

5. Courtney is my least favorite character right now. I do not like her attitude towards the situation very much. She is being srcastic a lot, and to me, it shows that they don't care. Those sarcastic remarks also make her sound ignorant, which I do not like.

6. I think that what will happen next will not be good. Courtney, Mark and Patrick will find some maniac, backed by Saint Dane of course, who is now dictator of Second Earth. He would be the one who sets the course to lead to the distruction of Third Earth. Bobby will probably find that Saint Dane has managed to escape Ibara, somehow via Nevva Winter.

1. Right now in my book, the Indians are raiding the settlement. Samuel, the main character was in an orphanage, and was sent on this trip to Virginia to be Captain John Smith's apprentice. Sam was a street rat and a fighter.

2. I have found so far that this book kind of relates to me. Samuel is a hard head who does not want to listen to anyone. Also, this book is a challenge because some of the problems the main character runs into are ones that he trys to settle with his fists and he just makes more trouble for himself.

3. The theme in my book is survival. The colonists right now are all doing their best to get food, fight off disease, and keep the Indians from killing them.

4. My favorite character right now is captain John Smith because he has an air around him that makes him dominant over everyone else. he has the power not in name but in respect that people do what he tells them to do.

5. My least favorite character(s) are the gentlemen who are not working. They are my least favorite because in such a difficult position, they are not helping what could be there last hope.

1.In my book now the author is going back and fourth between the four main characters Nadia, Ethan, Noah, and Julian. The story started with all the characters explaining their pasts which causes them to meet and become friends. At this point in the book Nadia and her geinus dog Ginger are taking part in the play called Annie. Nadia is a crew member for her dog who plays Sandy. Mean while Julian is the one narrirating now Noah and Ethan are cheering Nadia and Ginger on.

2.I am having a little trouble with understanding what character is narrirating at times but once I get into a chapter it is easy to find out. The character discription is amazing in this book so it is easy to figure out and picture what they look like. Each character is in 6th grade so relitivly close to my age so the characters are easy to relate to so it makes the book enjoy able to read.

3.The big theme in the book right now is friendship and what is means to have friends. It is also about how friends look after each other and help each other when they are in need.

4.Nadia is my favorite character in the book now. She has a lot on her mind but she is as shy as turtle. Some times she is off in her own world and won't open up. But when she made her new friends she opens up and she becomes and enjoyable character.

5. Julian is my least favorite character he is nice but knda anoying at the same time. If find him very hard to put up with and when he talks with such formal language it makes him sound like and adult. And kid characters are more fun to read about and it is hard to relate to adult characters.

6. Because the book is almost over and the main topic has not really come into play yet I think the state finals will start and I think that all the main characters will be on a team and because they work so well together they will beat the 7th graders for the first time in middle school history.

1. Right now in my book, the main character is on an adventure to hunt down the people who killed his uncle. He is traveling with his dragon, and an old story teller named Brom along with two horses. They face many hardships and don't show too many signs of getting close, but that itself may seem like a sign that they are almost there.

2. Right now the book keeps on surprising me with new things that I never see coming, sometimes those are good things, other times they are bad. My favorite thing is the unpredictability so you really have to think about what will happen and right when you think you know what's gonna happen, it switches.

3. The theme in my book right now would have to be annoyance. I see this with that the main character is not being told anything he wants to be. Also they have to travel a lot slower than they could be and this is annoying the characters because they still haven't caught up with who they are trying to.

4. My favorite character in the book right now is Saphira. That is the dragon's name and she really seems to help hold everything together and her sarcastic remarks can help,to brighten the mood.

5. Right now my least favorite character in the book is Brom. he is very smart and knows lots of things, but won't tell them to anyone and if he did then the journey could be a lot easier.

6. Next in my book I think that the people they are chasing are going to find them unexpetedly and then the main characters are just barely going to be able to protect themselves from the ambush, but they will not be able to complete their goal of defeating them.

One of the agents has a little sister going through basic training so there is a chance that shes is going to be that agent on the mission.

2. I'm finding this book an easy book to read. There isn't any vocabulary I don't really know. The book has a lot of good detailed sentences about the agents in Cherub. The book also has good detailed sentences about the places on the Cherub campus.

3. I think the theme of the part I am reading right would be motivation. I think it would be motivation because lauren has to motivate herself to try to get into the mission her older brother James is in.

4. My favorite character in this book is probably James. I chose James because he seems like the kid that always gets in trouble with his two friends. He's that kind of kid that is like the trouble maker.

5. I don't think I have a least favorite character. Most of the characters in this book are very interesting.

6. Something that I think thats going to happen next is that Lauren is going to do the mission with James. I also think that they will be sent to the maximum security prison as soon as Lauren gets the spot.

3. One theme i have noticed is loyalty. Michael and Carlos have only had eachother since their father died. They need to stick together so they can get through this rough time. The only way to do this is to be loyal to each other and always have there brothers back.

4. My favorite character is Manny. Even though he is not related to Michael he is his best friend. He is always there to have michael's back in the real worlds and in his baseball games. I also think he has a great personality which is why he is my favorite character.

5. My least favorite is Ellie. She is always making Michael really jealous. He is not very good with girls but when he sees her he gets new confidence. But, when he tries to run away from the baseball field to talk to her, she always runs away to Yankee Stadium.

6. I think Michael and his team are going to win their entire league for baseball. Michael is going to have many amzing games in a row. Also, i think Ellie and Michael will start talking to each other and become really good friends

Currently in The Red Necklace, Sido, and her father the marquis, have been taken to jail. As this is during the French Revolution, all aristocrats in France are being jailed, including Sido and her father. Sido is offered to be released on the one condition, to marry the evil count kalliovski. Meanwhile, an old friend, Yann, is working to prove that the man who calls himself her father, is indeed not her father. Proving this would convince Sido to leave the prison with Yann, as she is intent on not abandoning her father in jail.

I am finding this book to be an excellent read, because of the blend of fact and fiction. While the element of magic in this book is obviously made up, there are many true facts, such as the fall of the Bastille. Although it may be confusing at times because of the way it switches characters, it is a fantastic book.

One of the many themes I have seen throughout this book is the power of one. As Yann attempts to uncover kalliovaski's scheme,

They are talking a lot about the donations that Anna gave to her sister Kate when she was about five. The parents never asked Anna if she wanted needles and other things in her body so Anna is suing her parents to the right of her own body.

2.So far I enjoy my book. I like that it keeps the reader engaged in the text. Some parts of the book they could be clearer on what is happing. Also the vocabularies in some parts is difficult. But over all I enjoy my book.

3.There are two major themes in the book so far. One of the themes is trust. The character Julia has to trust Campbell a lot on what’s the best thing to do for Anna. The other big theme is sadness. I think that this is a major theme because Kate is getting sicker by the day and soon she is going to die if something is not done.

4.My favorite character would have to be Anna. I like Anna because she is very independent. She went and got an attorney herself also she has to fend for herself. Once she got Campbell most of the family did not like/love her any more. Only Jesse like her because he is not close to the parents just like Anna.

5.My least favorite character would have to be the mom. I dislike the mom because she only loves Kate. She does not care for Anna and Jesse she loves but ignores.

6.My prediction is that Anna will gain the right to her own body. I think this because so far in court she is doing very well.

3. heroism, uncertainty-I think so because it is developoing Bobby as a hero and uncertainty because Bobby doesn't know anything about his role as a hero.

**Sorry i accedentally pressed enter at the wrong time, and published my comment too early.**

One of the many themes I have seen throughout this book is the power of one. As Yann attempts to uncover kalliovaski's scheme, he has to stand up to the most dangerous man in the world. This is something no one has dared to do, yet Yann alone is making such a difference. He has managed to escape kalliovaski on several occasions, and has also been able to find out many things about his mysterious past. This is all because of the power of one.

Currently, my favorite character is yann, for many reasons. One of these reasons is the way that he stands up for Sido, a girl he has met only once, and many years ago. I also enjoy the way he has been finding his self, through both his past, and present. He looses his powers for a time, yet he works hard to gain them back, a skill which he eventually gains. I Also like his perseverance.

My least favorite character is Kollovaski. I dislike him because he is malicious, deceitful, and cruel. He plays the part of the mad scientist, and he experiments cruelly with the bodies and spirits of the people he murders. He is relentless, and shows no mercy. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I predict that Kollovaski will die, and Sido will find out the truth and end up escaping to england, where she and yann will marry. Her father will probably either die in prison, or on the guillotine.

BODY:

1. Early on in the book, D.J. Schwenk, the main character, agreed to help train, Brian Nelson, the quarterback of the high school football team. She grew up around football as her older brothers played and her father used to help the head coach, Jimmy Ott. At first, Brian was a stuck-up jerk to D.J., “the farm girl.” Soon they found that they enjoyed each other’s company and longed to be with each other when separated. During training one day, D.J. decided that she wanted to try out for the football team. When everyone was gone from her house, she practiced with her brother’s old gear. Right now, she is trying to figure out how she will try out for the team without her family finding out.

2. Up to this point I have really enjoyed this book. D.J. is trying to fit in with everyone but all of her time is spent doing farm work. Now that she has decided to try out her high school’s football team, I hope the topic does not turn and become completely football based. I found it a bit hard to follow when I read Necessary Roughness this summer, as I do not know a lot about the sport.

3. One of the themes of Dairy Queen is dedication. D.J. is dedicated to helping her family maintain the farm even though she does not believe it should be her responsibility. She is also loyal to Brian and helping him prepare for the football season. I assume that if she makes the football team she will be dedicated to the sport and her team as well.

4. At this point in the book, my favorite character is D.J. Schwenk. I believe it is very nice and considerate of her to take on the responsibility of all the farm work. Also, I think it is great that she is trying out for the football team. No one should be limited as to what they can and cannot do. I also believe her dedication to multiple things is a great quality for a person to possess.

5. Throughout the section of the novel I have read so far, I find D.J.’s father to be my least favorite character. I do not think it is fair that he is putting all of the farm work on his daughter. While I respect that she does it, I think he should possibly hire some help. Also, I don’t admire his quality of wanting to be the best. For example, he had a fight with another lady at church over who could make the best brownie. He made many batches of brownies that week and was determined (in a bad way in my opinion) to win.

6. I believe D.J. will make the football team and secretly attend the pre-season practices without her parents knowing. From the reading, I have learned that Mr. Schwenk attends every home game. I hypothesis that he will notice she is on the field during the first game. I think he will try to stop her from playing and getting hurt but she will somehow convince him otherwise.

2. The book is very exciting and I really like it. The two main characters are being pursued by the paris police for a suspected murder.

3. I would say that the theme so far is desperation. Robert and Sophie (the main characters) must figure out sophie's grandfather's riddle before the police catch up with them.

4. My favorite character is Robert Langdon. He is a well respected Harvard professor who specializes in history. He can figure out almost any clue and find out exactly what it means and where to search for the next one.
5. My least favorite character is Captain Fache. He is the captain of the Paris police and is always serious and in a bad mood. He also wants to arrest Robert for a serious crime he didn't commit.

He is tryng to convince them to investigate a guy named Damian Cray who he thinks planted a bomb in his girlfriends house. This guy is called a saint by many but Alex does not agree. Blunt agrees with Alex but can't do anything about it because he employs a lot of people and donates money to the goverment.

2.I'm finding this book very interesting and easy to relate too because there is always action going on and I can relate to Alex. This book is also easy to relate too because it mentions names that are big now like Elton John.

3.I think the theme in this book is a constant tension between Alex Rider and Yassen Gregovich because Yassen Gregovich has killed people very close to Alex Rider. Like his uncle Ian Rider who was also a spy and like a father to him. Also Yassen Gregovich tried to kill his girlfriend and his girlfriend's parents.

4.My favorite character is Alex Rider because he does cool stuff like beat people up that are armed when he is not armed. Alex also always seems to be doing the right thing.

5.My least favorite character is Damian Cray becuase he is so famous and thought of as a saint by the public. When Damian I think actually sends assasins like Yassen Gregovich after people. All in all he is a backstabber.

2. I like the book so far because nina and Alicia do things out of no where- so you never know whats coming! But Alicia is really really spoiled which is kind of annoying.

3. I think one of the themes in the book is that you can't always get what you want and that sometimes you have to do something you don't want to. An example of this is when Nina and Alicia had to work in the hotel as maids because they broke a statue.

4. My favorite character is Alica because she always seems to be the one who is tricked into letting the cousins wear all her nice clothes, and she is always doing something wrong thanks to Nina.

5. My least favorite characters are Celia and Isobel because they use Alicia so they can wear her clothes, and they make Nina cut her hair so she will look ugly and so she won't win the audition to be in i's new music video.

6. I think that Alicia and Nina will get to the auditions for the video, try out, and then someone else(a complete stranger) will win the part instead of them.

1. Right now in my book the main character is having alot of trouble deciding what she should do over President Snow's proposition. She has to decide iff she wants to fuel the rebellion she started or go along as the President asked and extinguish it.

2. I'm finding this book alot slower in action then the last book. This book I would say is a snail compared to The Hunger Games because in The Huinger Games you were thrown right into it.

3. The theme that I feel right now is the most prevelant is rebellion. I noticed this when the President came to the main characters home and didn't say she started an uprising but all the hints were there. The main character I feel has already drawn this conclusion.

4.At this moment in the book my favorite character is Peeta Mellark. Peeta Mellark is my favorite because he has always been the voice of reason for the main character. As in when Peeta had told the main character to be careful the Capitol is still watching and she did listen and she found the Capitols grunt watching her.

5. President Snow is my least favorite character. He is my least favorite character due to the fact that he runs the sinister Capitol. Also due to the fact he is blackmailing myu favorite character and the main character with threatening to kill their family if they dont cooperate with his demands.

6.I predict the main character will try to do as President Snow said. THis is my prediction becausethe main character would not be able to go on without her family.

1. Right now in my book Private Jason wander is heading onto the moon Ganymede for a swift decisive strike against the alien menace the slugs. he has been feeling stressed since during the dropship ride bits of equipment have injured or caused fatalities to most of the squad.

2. This book is a good read for me since I enjoy reading futuristic war stories or just war stories in general. It really has good detail so it feels like im in this whole war myself.

3. The theme that really seems to show in this book is sadness since most of the time the main character Jason Wander keeps thinking about his mother who died in the Slug "blitz" which was when they dropped giant spear headed rocks that obliterate entire cities.

4. Right now my favorite character is Admiral Metzger who is the commander of USSC Battleship Hope.
Metzger is very smart and is the best tactician the army has to offer. He also is Jason's "mentor" and good friend telling him what to do and sending in bombs to assist the squadrons on the ground.

5. My least favorite character is Howard Hibble. he is the main scientist and a "spook" sort of like CIA but with scientific items.
He is'nt a bad guy but would you like having a guy on the battlefield yelling "Holy Moly!"?.

6. My prediction in the story is that they discover the base and send in air support and hopefully destroy it.

1. Right now in my book the mystery of who is behind the attacks on environmentally hazardous places and objects. The people that cause the attacks are called Force Three and they are determened to save the Earth and will stop at nothing to get their way. When Drevins assistant, Tamara turns out to be a member of the CIA, Alex has to work with Tamara to put a stop to the mysterious threat.

2. I feel this book is great for readers my age because there is a ton of action and suspense too. The book is geared toward children ages 11-13 and is a great read over all.

3. A theme in the book so far is be careful what you wish for because Alex is always looking for answers and always ends up in heaps of trouble.

4. My favorite character is Tamara Knight because she is portrayed as a very cold and dry person and that personality turns out to be her cover for the CIA and is actually a good person.

5. My least favorite character is Kasper because he is a very good antagonist but is just themost despising crazy person ever.

6. I think that ALex will discover that Drevin did it to create the hype for his space shuttle launch.

1. Right now in my book, Bella has had to stay with the Cullens while Edward was gone hunting because Victoria is trying to kill her so if she was with Alice and all of them they could protect her. Bella didn't want to but she was forced to. While she was there Rosalie (one of the Cullens) came in and told a story of when she was human trying to convince Bella to stay human. Also she was able to go see Jacob but they got in a fight because he said that he would rather have Bella dead then be a vampire. Mean while Edward has been trying to protect Bella because someone went into her house while she was at the cullens and took her pillow, sweat shirt, and any thing that had her scent. Finally Bella made up with Jacob and went to a Bonfire that Jacob invited her to and Jacob's dad told a story about the first Werewolf.

2. I am really enjoying this book because I am able to really get into it and it makes me want to keep reading. Also it is exciting and packed with a lot of drama and action in some parts.

3. The theme of this book is probably difficult relationship or romance because almost the whole book is about how Edward and Bella are in love but are having a hard time being together because of her dad Charlie who thinks they are getting to serious, and the fact that Edward is a Vampire.

4. My favorite character is Alice because she is always happy and is really nice. She is my favorite vampire out of all of Cullens. Also I like how she can see the future. I like this power's better than Edward's and she has the best personality out of all the Cullens.

5. My least favorite character is Charlie because he is always getting in the way of Edward and Bella's relationship and making it a lot harder for them to be together. Also he doesn't have a very exciting personality and I think he is a little boring.

6. My prediction is that Bella is going to stay with Jacob for a couple days so she is protected and Edward and the rest of the cullens will track down who was in Bella's house and try to catch him/her (I don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet). Also I think after graduation she might choose to be changed into a vampire.

1. Right now in my book, Jade the main character is adusting to the big move. Her and her family just moved from the suberbes to the city of Seattle and not everyone is happy. To make everything better she lives next to the Zoo. For some kids that would be awesome and for Jade it is heaven except for the screeching babbons at night time. Jade's life is sorta sad because she gets this nervious feeling about everything and it causes her to feel un cofterable alot. The only thing that calms her down is watching the zoo animals on the zoo's web-cams sometimes she sees a mysterious man too.

2. I'm finding this book really fun to read because of how its written. Its is Jades point of view and she is an amazingly thouthtfull girl. In her sinior year of high school Jade is not a party girl and obsessed with boys. She is very different and that is cool to read about.

3. The theme in this book now is wounder. Jade is always woundering about how the animals relate to humans and from her thoughts they do in many ways. Also about how her family members react to different things she relates them to zoo animals a lot not strait foward you have to think about what she is saying.

4. My favorite character in the book is Jade she is so thoughtfull and wounderious it makes me think so much more. She also has a mind a lot like mine so even though she is older than me by 5 years she is easy to relate to.

5. My least favorite character is Jade's dad, because he is obsessed with sports and rarley payes attion to what his family members want. He is also not vary fater like and dosent appricate Jade, Oliver her brother, or her Mother. It makes me so upset to see a person like that

6.I think Jade will find out and meet the man in the webcamera that she keeps seeing at night when she is watching the animals.

1.My book overall was a good book. Toward the end i thought that it really pulled it together. What happened was unfortunally the old man lost his job and got replaced. Nut, the team had come a long way to win the championship. I thought that chip was starting to lose it.

2. I liked the book a lot. I would reccomend this book to ANYONE who likes sports books. It was difficult to read because like the old coach my dad gave up coaching for a while so i can see why the people are sad. Thats how i felt when my dad left caoching.

3. The main theme in this book i think would be bad chemistry. I think this because with all the jeering fans and new people coming onto the team it got hectic for all of the people who were on the team before that. The theme could also be sports fantasy. What i mean by this is having a dream in sports and finally having that dream come true.

4. My favorite character was chip. i could relate to hm in alot of was. I sometime thought of myself in the same positions as him and think about what id do in those situations. I reeally liked his enthusiasm towards the team even if they were in the slumps.

5. My least favorite characters were the jeerers in the stands. I really thought they were major tools and should go back into their toolbox. They were so annoying it almost was unpleasent reading with them in it. I really didn't like how they treated everybody to have some respect.

6. My perdiction of the team winning and going all the way came true. i was happy that they one and ill continue ready more of his books

1. What happened in this book is ALicia went to Spain to visit her cousins. While she was there she broke a statue at a party and had to work to pay for it. In a way that nobody would belive working at Hotel Lindo. While in Spain there was a famous person called i there. Alicia wanted to win his contest because then she could be in his music video. She encounters many obsticals in trying to win the contest.
2. I did not like this book because there were so many spanish words in the book and i don't take spanish. Not to mention the fact that nothing was happening in the book. I was not the best book by Lisi Harrison.
3. A theme in this book would be trying new things. In the book Alicia and her cousin nina need to do many things that they have never done, or dreamed of doing such as cleaning up after the pecocks and being towel girls.
4. My favorite charecter would have to be Alicia's aunt. I say that because she is a very nice and kind person. Right when Alicia walks in she greets her with lots of love. She is also a very easygoing person. Like when Alica wanted to go to a party.
5. I very much dislike Nina. She is such a witch. Ever since she was at OCD she was stealing girls things. When ALicia came she kept getting her in trouble, and i were her i would have let the whole thing go.
6. The end was really bad Lisi Harrison could have improved her writting in my own personal opinion. You just knew that it was cooming .

Distant waves: a novel of the titanic

1. Right now, the main character, Jane, is with her sisters and mother- they just moved to a place by Buffalo NY called Spirit Vale. Jane's mother is a medium who conducts seances as a living. Jane's father just died, and thats why they are moving.

2. The book is okay. I just started it, so the author is still kind of introducing the characters and setting up the story. It has alot of details about seances and mediums right now. I think it's interesting reading about that time period, but it is kind of wierd how people believed in spiritualism then. it's like the salem witch trials and how everybody got caught up in it. i love reading about the Titanic though, so hopefully it will get much better.

3.Right now,I think the theme is family bonds. Jane is always looking after her two baby sisters, and mimi (the eldest) is looking after them all. they have to stick together and be strong, now that their father is dead and they had to move out of their home.

4. I think my favorite character is Mimi. She is always a good sister, and Jane says that "I am confident that she would never abandon me"

5.My least favorite character is the mother. even though she is their mother and always good to Jane and her sisters she is a medium and a fraud. she makes a living out of tricking other people into believing that thier loved ones have come back to talk to them through her.

6. I think that the mother will become a really good medium and will become rich, and that all the sisters will go on the Titanic and only Jane and one of her sisters, Emma or Amelie, will survive.

1. In my book the ending is kind of coming together. Leah's husband Anatole goes to prison for disliking the terrible government lead by Mobutu. He is supposed to only be in prison for about five years (or less) but they keep him for longer and longer. Leah is desperate to see him again. Adah has 'lost her slant' now she can walk straight at a normal pace and she talks to people. Orleanna has moved to a little brick house on Sanderling Island, off the coast of Georgia. Rachel now runs a fancy hotel south of the Congo and is as self centered as ever. She gets angry at Leah when she worries about Anatole. This happens after all the Price women have a reunion and the three sisters are traveling back to their separate destinations in Africa. During their journey you learn that their father is dead- he was killed eventually by the Congolese for irritating and scaring them too much.

2. This book is a bit easier to bear now that the father is out of the picture but there are still some characters that irritate me. For example it is hard to read the parts told from Leah's point of view because it includes descriptions of Mobutu and the terrible dictatorship. It is also annoying to read from Rachel's point of view because she is so obnoxious and biased.

3. Another theme from this book is separated family. The book shows how important it is to have a stable, happy family and how much that contributes to overall happiness. Even thirty years after Orleanna and Adah left the Congo they are all still constantly arguing whenever they meet (not including Orleanna).

4. I don't really have a favorite character. However, I really admire Orleanna. She had to stand almost twenty years with Nathan Price, one of the worst fictional people I have read about. He did not care about her well-being or the children's- leaving it all up to her to raise them. However she did not stand up to him until the death of Ruth May. Was it because she did not want to hurt the children?

5. Right now my least favorite character is Mobutu. You do not meet him personally but you feel the effects of what he is doing. And it is not good. He is a dictator who sends all opponents that he can reach to prisons, stops funding for mail, public schools, etc. so that he can build himself a palace with a moat. Isn't he nice!

6. I predict that by the end of the book Anatole will be back, Mobutu gone, and the family reunited! (I hope) I think this because I know that if Anatole was not back by the end of the book it would be an unfinished book and there is no sequel.

1.The book I’m reading is about a girl name Cassie who goes to a school called the Gallagher Academy. This school is not for all girls this is a boarding school for super spies and geniuses. Cassie finds herself in a hard situation when her and her friends decide they want to discover what happened to the restricted area over break. They soon found out it was broken into, but who would do that? Cassie finds herself snooping in her mother’s desk who works at the school and finding a picture of her dad who she has not seen in a long time.

2.I am finding the book very enjoyable to read because I can relate to the characters. The action parts are very well written and so I feel like I’m there every single second. The author also leaves you with subtle cliff hangers so you never can predict what is happening next.

3.The theme that strikes me the most is adventure, because I feel like Cassie is finding more about her thought the adventure parts of the book.

4.Now my favorite character is Cassie because she is close to my age and her life seems so cool. I would love to live in a spy academy with all my friends and go on secret missions. She narrates the story so you’re always in her head which is full of thoughts.

5.I have not come over a least favorite character in this book. Each character is interesting and complex in their own way. This makes the action part of the story more exciting because you never know what anyone is going to say.

6.I think that Cassie and her friends will find out there is another spy school and for boys! And that will shake up the story because I think the boys and girls will team up to make one kid spy school.

1) Right now in my book there is a girl named Marcy who has a very terrible life, her parents are probably the worst parents you could ever get, her dad is abusive and her mom is just always sad. She is overweight and hates school even though she is very smart she has no friends. Since she is overweight she doesn’t like gym class because of changing in front of everyone.

2) This is a very good book and easy to relate to because of the age and what is happening, it is easy to relate to, and reminds me of any middle school.

3) The theme in this book right now would have to be bravery just because Marcy has such a hard life but she is still trying her hardest to just push through it all.

4) My favorite character is Marcy because you have to feel bad for her because of the way her life is going, and having bad parents just makes it worse.

5) My least favorite character is her dad because he is such a jerk and he is also abusive, and I just can’t stand people who hit there son/ daughter.

6) I’m going to predict something changes Marcy’s life forever and maybe she becomes popular.
